Abstract

A yarn guide comprises a head (1) and a stem (2) which is mounted on a yarn guide stirrup which is moved over the needle beds of a flat knitting machine. In order to achieve a simple, stable and easily replaceable yarn guide the head (1) and the stem (2) are made in one piece from resilient plastics material, for example polyformaldehyde, and a tube (8) of hardened steel or ceramic material is moulded or bonded into the sheave head (1). Undesirable oscillation of the sheave head following deflection movements of the sheave is thereby damped.
