Abstract

Binaural sound processing system for cochlear implants. # It allows to obtain an optimization of the hearing and an improvement of the communication in users who present auditory dysfunctions (hearing loss), allowing to increase the acoustic sensitivity and tuning in noisy environments and environments, such as coffee shops, bars, restaurants, etc. More specifically, the binaural sound processing system (1) described herein is based on a combined and coordinated mode of operation of two sound processors (20), each installed in correspondence with the user's ears. Thus, by means of this special linking of the modes of operation of the two sound processors (20) it is possible to obtain at the output of each one of them a more “natural” final stimulation pattern and adjusted to the actual acoustic conditions of each moment or situation.
