Abstract

Microencapsulated food for fish larvae and procedure for its elaboration. With the present invention a microcapsule is achieved that includes a complete diet for fish larvae, particularly for marine fish, by means of a low cost technique. Likewise, isolated cells or isolated ingredients that can be used in nutrition studies can be microencapsulated. The microcapsules obtained have an optimal size and texture to be used by marine fish larvae, being accepted and digested by both pelagic and benthic species larvae. The microcapsules achieved are easily dispersed in water and can be stored dry for long periods without their characteristics being modified.
