Abstract
Reactor electroquímico multicelda, bipolar y separado por membranas, para reacciones de reducción y oxidación de semicelda en respectivos líquidos electrólitos positivos y negativos, sin formación de gas, que incluye una pluralidad de elementos electrodo en placa bipolares y de elementos separadores de membrana de intercambio de iones dispuestos alternativamente, que definen una cámara de flujo de electrólito positivo a un lado de cada membrana y una cámara de flujo de electrólito negativo en el lado opuesto, ensamblados de forma estanca en una disposición de filtro de paso (SS, TR, N) entre dos elementos electrodo finales (T+, P+, T-, P+) eléctricamente acoplados en un circuito eléctrico que incluye funcionalmente una fuente eléctrica que fuerza una corriente a través del reactor electroquímico o una carga eléctrica que absorbe una corriente del reactor electroquímico, dichos elementos electrodo en placa bipolares y dichos de elementos separadores de membrana de intercambio de iones incluyendo una porción (1E, 1M) de bastidor de un material no conductor de electricidad y resistente químicamente que coopera con unos medios (8, 9, 9¿, 23, 23¿) de junta de estanqueidad y que presenta orificios y ranuras (24, 24¿, 26, 26¿, 25, 25¿, 27, 27¿) en ubicaciones coordinadas que forman, una vez ensamblados, conductos para la circulación separada de un electrólito negativo y de un electrólito positivo, en cascada, en todas dichas cámaras de flujo de electrólito negativo y en todas dichas cámaras de flujo de electrólito positivo, respectivamente, caracterizado porque todos lo bastidores (1E) de dichos elementos electrodo en placa bipolares y de dichos elementos separadores de membrana de intercambio de iones (1M) presentan una porción (6, 19) de brida interna, con una ranura desde la primera cara plana del bastidor en el lado opuesto de la otra cara del bastidor que presenta hendiduras para el alojamiento de juntas tóricas (9, 9¿, 23, 23¿) alrededor de unos agujeros de conducción de electrólito y alrededor del perímetro (8) de estanqueidad externo, que alojan una porción perimétrica del electrodo (16) en placa bipolar respectivo o del separador (2) de la membrana de intercambio de iones; una pluralidad de clavijas (7, 18) de retención se proyectan hacia fuera de la superficie de dicha porción (6, 19) de brida interna con ranura y agujeros (3, 17) de conducción de dicha poción perimétrica del electrodo (16) en placa o separador (2) de membrana allí alojada; una contrabrida de retención (4, 15) de un material no conductor de electricidad y resistente químicamente que presenta agujeros (5, 17) coordinados con las posiciones de dichas clavijas (7, 18) de retención está montada funcionalmente por encima de dicha porción (16) perimétrica de electrodo en placa o separador (2) de membrana en dicha porción (6, 19) de brida con ranura del bastidor (1M, 1E) y permanentemente fijada a éstas mediante el remachado en caliente de las cabezas de dichas clavijas (7, 18) de retención protuberantes fuera de dichos agujeros (5, 17) coordinados de la contrabrida (4, 15); los elementos electrodo en placa bipolares y los elementos separadores de membrana preensamblados están adaptados para ser preparados como elementos preensamblados alternativamente apilables en posición horizontal con dicha otra cara de los bastidores que soporta las juntas tóricas (9, 9¿, 23, 23¿) encaradas hacia arriba.
