Abstract

Procedure to increase the efficiency in anaerobic digestion of high organic load residues. Procedure to increase the efficiency in anaerobic digestion of high organic load residues through the use of mineral additives, such as zeolite, in which, by initial separation of the raw residual into semi-solid and liquid fractions, these fractions are treated separately in mixed with the mineral additive with different granulometries, achieving an overall removal efficiency of volatile solids of 85-90%, and a volumetric percentage of methane in the biogas of 70-75%. In addition, 50-55% of the ammonia and hydrogen sulfide present in the crude residual is removed, which leads to an increase in the efficiency and yield of biomethanization.
