Abstract

Caucho de estireno-butadieno (SBR) para goma de mascar.
Caucho de estireno-butadieno para goma de mascar útil para aplicaciones de masticación blanda. Su preparación comprende copolimerizar aproximadamente 1 pcm a aproximadamente 12 pcm de estireno y aproximadamente 88 pcm a aproximadamente 99 pcm de 1,3-butadieno en una emulsión acuosa, en el cual dicha copolimerización es llevada a cabo a una temperatura que está dentro del intervalo de aproximadamente 1ºC a aproximadamente 20ºC, y en el cual dicha copolimerización es iniciada con un sistema de iniciador que está compuesto por (a) un generador de radicales libres, (b) un agente reductor seleccionado del grupo compuesto por ácido ascórbico, ácido isoascórbico, y derivados de ácido ascórbico con la fórmula estructural:

en la cual R es un grupo alquilo que contiene de 1 a 30 átomos de carbono, y (c) una sal metálica, soluble en agua, de hierro, cobre, cobalto, níquel, estaño, titanio, vanadio, manganeso, cromo o plata.
