ESTE DISPOSITIVO PUEDE COMPRENDER, EN UN MISMO SUSTRATO SEMICONDUCTOR DE IN P (6): NDAS (WE) DE UNA PRIMERA LONGITUD DE ONDA DE, POR EJEMPLO, 1.300 NM, DE UNA SEGUNDA LONGITUD DE ONDA DE, POR EJEMPLO, 1.550 NM, Y UN SEPARADOR (G) QUE ABSORBE LAS ONDAS DE LA PRIMERA LONGITUD DE ONDA, ESTANDO INTERPUESTO DICHO SEPARADOR ENTRE EL EMISOR LASER (H1) Y EL FOTODIODO (H2) PARA PROTEGER ESTE FOTODIODO FRENTE A LAS ONDAS DE LA PRIMERA LONGITUD DE ONDA. DE ACUERDO CON LA INVENCION, MEDIOS DE MEDIDA DE ABSORCION (Q) SUMINISTRAN UNA SEÑAL (IG) REPRESENTATIVA DE LA POTENCIA DE LAS ONDAS ABSORBIDAS POR EL SEPARADOR.
