LA INVENCION TRATA DE UN PROCEDIMIENTO PARA LA OBTENCION DE PENTAFLUOROETANO (R 125) HACIENDO REACCIONAR PERCLOROETILENO CON ACIDO FLUORHIDRICO EN LA FASE GASEOSA EN UN CATALIZADOR QUE CONTIENE CROMO, UTILIZANDO UN CATALIZADOR CON CROMO Y MAGNESIO, EL CUAL SE OBTIENE HACIENDO REACCIONAR UNA SAL DE CROMO(III) SOLUBLE EN AGUA CON HIDROXIDO MAGNESICO U OXIDO DE MAGNESIO Y OPCIONALMENTE GRAFITO EN PRESENCIA DE AGUA, LA MEZCLA REACTIVA SE TRANSFORMA EN UNA PASTA, QUE SE DEJA SECAR Y SE TRATA A UNAS TEMPERATURAS ENTRE 20 Y 500 C CON ACIDO FLUORHIDRICO, UTILIZANDO TALES CANTIDADES EN SALES DE CROMO (III) Y MAGNESIO Y OPCIONALMENTE GRAFITO, QUE LA PASTA SECA ANTES DEL TRATAMIENTO CON ACIDO FLUORHIDRICO CONTIENE DE 4,5 A 26 % EN PESO DE CR, EXPRESADO COMO CR{SUB,2}O{SUB,3}, Y AL MENOS 25 % EN PESO DE MG, EXPRESADO COMO MGO, Y OPCIONALMENTE GRAFITO.
