Abstract

Human gene sequence homologous to the yeast gene involved in proteolytic processing of pre-packed proteins. The invention consists in identifying homologous fragments of the human gene to Saccharomyces cerevisiae AFC1, amplifying them by total RNA PCR, using the amplified fragments as probes to hybridize cDNAs and determining the sequence of the cDNA clones that hybridize with the probes. The sequence identified is SEQ ID NO: 1. The applications of said sequence are mainly related to the diagnosis and treatment of oncogenic processes.
