Abstract
Procedimiento para la detección del crecimiento de microorganismos en fluidos biológicos y muestras clínicas mediante ultrasonidos. El procedimiento consiste en la medida automática de la velocidad de propagación de una señal impulsiva con una frecuencia central de 5 MHz a través de un recipiente estéril que contiene un medio de cultivo líquido al que previamente se le ha inoculado una muestra clínica de sangre, orina u otro fluido orgánico. El recipiente y la muestra líquida han de permanecer a una temperatura controlada y fija. En condiciones estándar se fija en 35ºC. Las técnica de medida puede utilizar bien la configuración de transmisión-through-transmission- con dos transductores piezoeléctricos enfrentados, bien la de pulso-eco - pulse-echo- con un sólo transductor y un reflector enfrentado y paralelo a la superficie de emisión del mismo. El pulso ultrasónico es procesado después de atravesar el recipiente, calculando por procedimientos digitales la diferencia en tiempo entre la señal de disparo y la llegada de dicho pulso. **FORMULA**Procedure for the detection of the growth of microorganisms in biological fluids and clinical samples by ultrasound.
