Abstract

The pneumatic clamp comprises a clamping sleeve (1) with ports sealed by elastic material fixed to it. There can be a further clamping sleeve enclosing the first one and containing ports (4) which do not overlap those in the first sleeve. Both sleeves can be of metal, and the ports can be formed by slits running in their lengthwise direction. The elastic material (3) can form an inner lining for the first sleeve, being typically formed by a hose glued to the sleeve. Alternatively it can be clamped by inserts pressed into the sleeve ends.
