Abstract
Lock composed of a chassis in which there are two cylindrical drums which rotate in parallel on their shaft and of a planar key which, when inserted in the lock, is made to pass tangentially to the surface of both cylindrical drums, between them and the chassis. The planar key has, on the surface facing that of the drums, a set of notches which, by means of their position, mesh perfectly with another set of teeth arranged on the surfaces of both drums. Upon insertion, the key causes the drums to rotate, converting its linear movement into a rotational movement of the shafts of the drums, which serves to actuate the lock mechanisms, releasing the catch (latch) and opening the lock. In addition, the drums have a system of eccentric wheels which prevent any rotation of the drums which is not controlled by the lock's key.
