Abstract
Device that contains a set of standard steel samples for the quantitative microanalysis of iron-based metal alloys. The device contains a set of homogeneous steels, chemically and structurally suitable for use as standards in EDX-SEM, WDX-SEM and EPMA quantitative microanalysis. These steels are chosen so that they cover a wide range of chemical compositions for the most important elements in the steel industry, within their most usual ranges of use. The device has been designed for use with X-ray analysis systems coupled with SEM microscopes and EPMA Electronic Microprobe systems, combining the optimum size and manufacturing material. The device includes an accessory for measuring the electron beam current. This device has application in the iron and steel industry.
