Abstract

Process for the manufacture of unsupported ceramic parts, ceramic parts obtained using the same and applications The process comprises applying a layer of refractory product comprising 80-90% by weight of alumina, 5-19% by weight of kaolin and 0.1-14% by weight of carboxymethyl cellulose to the substrate part or biscuit before applying the layers of glaze, with the result that after the part has been fired in a furnace at 1050-1150 degree C the layer of glaze is completely separated and independent from the substrate part. The part comprises two layers of hardened glaze, the first corresponding to the slip and the second to the more readily fusing glaze, of much reduced thickness. Application in construction especially for the surfacing and decoration of walls.
