SEGUN LA INVENCION, EL MATERIAL DE ENVASADO SE TRATA DE MANERA PERMANENTE CON UNA SUSPENSION ACUOSA QUE CONTENGA UNA MEZCLA DE ACIDO FULVICO Y DE ACIDO HUMICO O SALES DE LOS MISMOS DURANTE LA FASE TECNOLOGICA HUMEDA (PASO) DE FABRICACION DE PAPEL. EL TRATAMIENTO SE LLEVA A CABO EN LA SUSTANCIA O EN LA SUPERFICIE DEL MATERIAL DE ENVASADO DURANTE SU ELABORACION. EL PRODUCTO HUMEDO OBTENIDO SE PUEDE SECAR POSTERIORMENTE HASTA QUE SE FORMA UN PAPEL, CARTON, PAPEL CORRUGADO U OTRO PRODUCTO ESTRATIFICADO BASADO EN CELULOSA. EL MATERIAL DE ENVASADO TRATADO SEGUN LA INVENCION ES CAPAZ DE INHIBIR LA SINTESIS ENZIMATICA QUE TIENE LUGAR DURANTE LA MADURACION DE LA FRUTA. DE ESTE MODO, ES PRINCIPALMENTE UTIL PARA PROLONGAR LA CONSERVACION DE FRUTAS Y VERDURAS.
