Abstract

Network-guided converter, with reversible voltage and current strength, with improved characteristics to optimise the use of electric energy, with general design and structure with the following characteristics, combined and applied simultaneously: Use of disequilibrated bridges in series. Power factor acceptable for use of sequential control techniques. Series installation of six-phase systems to produce twelve-phase effects. The current strength wave distortion is reduced by the combination of bridges in 12 or 24 phase connection. The operation of the system is automatic and programmed, without involvement of personnel. Inverter-rectifier reversible without pole switching manoeuvres. The battery charging and discharging processes do not require reversal of battery polarity by electromechanical means, since bridges with reversible thyristors are used. System reprogrammable by software with keyboard-selected setpoint values. The range of power that can be achieved with the techniques utilised runs to twenty megawatts.
