Abstract

Procedure for fast ageing of alcoholic beverages. Use of wood shavings subjected to heat treatment between 160 and 190degreeC for 1 to 5 hours, and subsequent maceration in the desired alcohol, said process being suspended after a period of 1 month, after which the shavings are removed and the degree of alcohol is adjusted to 40% V/V, the addition of caramel being optional, depending on the type of alcoholic beverage desired.
