Arrester device for medium-voltage aerial electrical networks, of the kind consisting of a stack of ceramic wafers enclosed inside an insulating envelope (2), characterised in that it is provided with a detector strap (5) which is held against the outer wall of the envelope (2), the latter being made of a deformable material, by mechanical means (9) arranged so as to yield, permitting the casting off of the said strap, under the effect of the inflating of the said envelope consequent upon the pressure of the gases which are generated by the short-circuiting of the ceramic wafers. <IMAGE>
