LA BANDA ESTA REVESTIDA ELECTROLITICAMENTE CON UNO O MAS REVESTIMIENTOS METALICOS, Y EL REVESTIMIENTO APLICADO EN ULTIMO LUGAR ES FUNDIDO TEMPORALMENTE, SUMINISTRANDO CALOR A LA BANDA (FUNDIDO). EL METODO SE CARACTERIZA PORQUE, EL CALOR SUMINISTRADO A LA BANDA FPARA PRODUCIR EL FUNDIDO ES GENERADO, AL MENOS EN PARTE POR UNA CORRIENTE ELECTRICA, QUE ES DURANTE TODO EL TIEMPO, NO NULA. EL CALOR SUMINISTRADO PARA PRODUCIR EL FUNDIDO, COMPENSA CONTINUAMENTE LA PERDIDA DE CALOR DE LA BANDA HACIA EL MEDIO AMBIENTE, DURANTE EL FUNDIDO Y PUEDE SER GENERADO, POR EJEMPLO, MEDIANTE EL CALENTAMIENTO POR LA RESISTENCIA ELECTRICA, USANDO CORRIENTE ALTERNA EN LA CUAL SE SUPERPONE UNA CORRIENTE CONTINUA.
