Abstract

The recessed fitting has a housing (7) inside the vehicle body and shaped to accomodate an insert headlamp unit (30) which is push-ed in from the front, to locate in the recess. The unit is retained by a catch (55) in the inside of the housing. The rear of the lamp unit has a sprung fitting (51) which is compressed between the bottom of the recess and the unit, and which presses the unit again-st the locking catch. The retaining catch has a simple release action via a pivot mounted lever (26) reached by hand. A simple sprung fitting has a hinged loop (47) with an angled crosspiece, which is presses against the bottom of the recess. ADVANTAGE - Simple front mounting, no separate fasteners, no special tools required.
