Abstract

The water is contained within a cylindrical storage tank (1). At one end (4) is formed a horizontal tubular branch (6) with a flange. The cyylinder has inlet and outlet connections (16a,19). If the heater is to produce steam, this is drawn off through the branch (17a). The gas burner has a flange, to match that of the branch (6). Beyond the flange the burner connects into a heat exchange tube (11) which, in end elevation is maintained within the nes of a circle such that it can pass through the branch (6). The tube (11) connects to an exhaust (12) at the flange. ADVANTAGE - Heat exchanger can easily be removed for maintenance.
