Abstract

A hinge, e.g. for mounting the cover on a cooker plate comprises two pieces 2 and 3 each having a cylindrical body 8 and 9 respectively, provided with a central and axial through hole 11 and 12 for the inserting of a connecting screw with the elements necessary for the adjustment of the pressure and friction between the pieces, their mutually engaging surfaces being formed with angled segments 10 so as to resist rapid falling movement of the cover. The piece 2 has threaded blind bore 13 for receiving screws for mounting to the cover with an interposed force-distributing strip. The piece 3 has a slot 15 to overly an aeration groove in the cooker plate.
