Abgebildet ist eine exemplarisch dargestellte ausstellende Behörde 104, beispielsweise ein Rathaus, welcher ein Blanko-Passbuch 102 und eine Blanko-Datenseite 106 zur Verfügung gestellt wurde. Über einen Server 108 kann aus der zentralen Datenbank 110 eine eineindeutige personenspezifische und/oder dokumentenspezifische Information abgerufen werden. Besonders vorteilhaft ist es, wenn die personenspezifische und/oder dokumentenspezifische Information eine Seriennummer 114 für das Ausweis-, Wert- und Sicherheitsdokument 100 ist. In der Figure wird beispielshaft eine fortlaufende Seriennummer dargestellt, jedoch kann die Information auch anderweitige Inhalte, Hinweise und Informationen beinhalten oder aus solchen zusammengesetzt sein. Die Vergabe der Seriennummer 114 aus der zentralen Datenbank 110 erfolgt chaotisch vom Server 108. Vor allem bei deutschen vorläufigen Pässen sowie bei deutschen Kinderreisepässen (jeweils Stand: 2021), die nur eine kurze und begrenzte Gültigkeitsdauer haben, muss grundsätzlich ein große Anzahl an Seriennummern vorhanden sein, weshalb eine chaotische Vergabe der Nummer durch den Server 108 weniger fehlerbehaftet und deutlich zeitsparender ist.
