Finally, several drying and/or cleaning coverings can also be used, which can also have different properties. A higher suction effect may be desired in the area behind the brush or the suction mouth. Here the drying and/or cleaning covering will then have a higher absorbency. The area on the sides, on the other hand, may have more of a dirt-removing effect. An area possibly provided in front of the brush can also be designed as a pre-cleaning element, so that a more scratching effect can be preferred here, for example. Ultimately, this depends on the area of application of the respective cleaning device.

It can be seen here that the brush of the cleaning device must maintain a certain distance from the edge areas due to its design. These are now also cleaned by the additional component according to the invention via lower cleaning pads. Like from the Figures 1 and 2 and especially from the Figures 9 and 10 As can be seen, not only the horizontal floor area in the corners and edges of the room is cleaned, but also vertical surfaces, such as baseboards, can be cleaned through the vertical surfaces of the cleaning elements 9.

Description

The invention relates to an additional component for a floor cleaning device designed as a brushing wet/dry vacuum device, in particular for a wet/dry vacuum device, according to the preamble of claim 1 and a floor cleaning device according to the preamble of claim 13.

The additional component is intended for floor cleaning devices that have a suction nozzle with a motor-driven cleaning brush arranged therein, which rotates about an axis of rotation parallel to the floor. In addition to the brush, these devices have a suction unit arranged in a device housing, the suction nozzle in flow connection with the suction unit and a dirty liquid tank for receiving dirty liquid that is separated from a sucked-in stream of suction material. The dirty liquid tank is in flow connection with the suction unit via an air outlet of a dirty liquid tank connection and preferably has a float for monitoring the fill level and/or for reducing the power consumption or for switching off the suction unit.

A generic additional component that is intended for a floor cleaning device designed as a vacuum cleaner with a steam cleaning function is from the EP 1 027 855 A2 known. This floor cleaning device is designed as a combined suction and steam cleaning device. It has a suction nozzle which, like a conventional vacuum cleaner, has a suction slot that is surrounded by a circumferential brush with bristles that can be placed against the floor. There are steam outlet openings behind the ensemble slot. The additional component is attached to the suction nozzle in order to be able to wipe the floor like a mop. For this purpose, the suction/brush housing of the suction nozzle has projections onto which corresponding receptacles of the additional component can be pushed in order to lock the additional component with the underside of the suction nozzle.

A similar solution for the suction nozzle of a classic canister vacuum cleaner, in which an additional component in the form of a dimensionally stable cleaning pad can be attached to the outside of the suction nozzle via holding hooks, is from the US 2007/0033767A1 known.

The two solutions described above both have the disadvantage that, on the one hand, they can only cover the underside of the suction/brush housing of the suction nozzle and thus provide an improved wiping function, but are not able to clean vertical edge surfaces of the floor, in particular skirting boards. to clean. Another disadvantage is that the attachment of the additional component with the suction nozzle must be released by the user by hand by loosening the locking connection. Furthermore, they have to be attached to the suction/brush housing of the suction nozzle with considerable effort and limit the suction function in the case of EP 1 027 855 A2 by covering the slot nozzle in certain areas.

Furthermore, from the US 2009/0094780 A1 A similar device is known with which the edge area cannot be cleaned with sufficient thoroughness, especially when cleaning is to be carried out near skirting boards. This is because the brush is mounted laterally, so that there is inevitably a section in the area of the suction nozzle that cannot be covered by the brush rotating about a horizontal axis.

However, the suction nozzles of other floor cleaning devices also have similar disadvantages, for example the suction nozzles of vacuum cleaners. An additional component for the suction nozzle of a vacuum cleaner is from the JP 2009 119 025 A2 known. This additional component consists of individual pads that are clamped into slots on the underside of the suction nozzle between the suction inlets. The disadvantage of this additional component is that, on the one hand, it can only cover a small area between the individual suction openings and, on the other hand, receiving slots must be provided on the side of the suction nozzle, which are adapted to the locking connection of the additional component. Furthermore, the user has to clip the relatively small components by hand onto the underside of the suction nozzle in a complicated process.

From the CN 211 243 149 U In turn, an approach for the suction nozzle of a wet-dry cleaner is known, which is clamped to the suction nozzle of the device via a clamp, with corresponding fastening means on the suction nozzle available. The additional component itself consists of a plate that rests on the floor behind the suction mouth and is dragged behind it by the suction nozzle. The disadvantage of this known additional component is that fastening must be present on the side of the suction nozzle and that the mechanical connection via the clamping bracket has to be made in a very complex manner for the user. For this reason, it is not possible to quickly attach and remove the additional component. This shows a similar solution EP 3 595 501 A1 or the EP 1 600 092 A2 . Further solutions with additional components firmly attached to the suction nozzle or the suction/brush housing of the suction nozzle are available from the EP 3 207 850 A1 , the CN 301997329 S , the JP 2003 135 348 A2 and the JP 3 070 795 U known.

The US 2009077761 A again shows a sweepings holder for a mechanical sweeping device that has a rotating brush, with side brushes being provided on the underside of the brush housing, although fixed and not removable, on the side of the rotating brush. Although this solution also allows the side areas to be cleaned, it requires a factory design of the brush housing. All known additional components therefore have the disadvantage that the brush housing of the floor nozzle must have fastening means provided at the factory, via which the additional component is attached to the floor nozzle. Solutions where this is not necessary are shown JP 2003 265 374 A2 and the JP 2006 212 201 A2 . In these two configurations of an additional component, the additional component is attached to the floor nozzle via Velcro straps that are firmly attached to a cleaning pad. Although this solution can be easily retrofitted, it has the disadvantage that the user also has to attach the Velcro connections with comparative effort. It is also not possible to easily pick up the additional component if necessary.

The object of the invention is therefore to create an additional component for expanding the cleaning effect and functionality of a floor cleaning device that is easy to assemble and disassemble. Another task is to have a particular to create a floor cleaning device designed as a stick device, which can easily be expanded with an additional component.

These tasks are achieved according to the invention by an additional component according to claim 1 and a floor cleaning device according to claim 13.

The new additional component is characterized in particular by the fact that the user can simply place the suction nozzle from above onto the additional component, which, by inserting the suction nozzle from above, connects to the suction nozzle to such an extent that it can fulfill its essential function. The additional component itself consists of a support body which is connected to a frame or is designed as a frame, to which in turn at least one drying and/or cleaning covering can be attached or is attached in such a way that it faces the floor surface or a side surface to be cleaned is.

This essential function of the additional component is, on the one hand, that the rotating brush can continue to maintain the necessary ground contact, particularly in conjunction with brushing devices. The further function is that the additional component is to be moved by the suction nozzle, which is moved reciprocally forward and back by the user. It is not important that the additional component is absolutely firmly connected to the suction nozzle. It can certainly be a connection with play, as long as a passage window remains permeable for the contact of the brush or the suction mouth with the floor.

According to the invention, it is now recognized that it is sufficient to provide abutment edges which enable the movement of the additional component together with the suction nozzle to be coupled in the essential directions and are designed in such a way that when the suction nozzle is inserted obliquely from above or vertically from above, corresponding edges of the Suction nozzle can be reached behind. In addition, side guides are provided to prevent the additional component from slipping sideways from the suction nozzle. The edges to be gripped behind can be any housing edges or projections. In particular, the side guides can of course also clamp the suction/brush housing of the suction nozzle laterally.

The pairings of abutment edges responsible for moving the additional component in the forward or backward direction can also be provided within the suction/brush housing. For example, the additional component can have domes or flat wall areas that project vertically or obliquely upward, cylindrical or otherwise shaped in cross-section and which engage in areas of the underside of the suction nozzle. These areas can be, for example, the opening of the suction nozzle or the opening in which a brush is stored.

A significant advantage of the solution according to the invention is that the user can simply connect the suction device to the additional component and remove it from it again without having to bend down or without having to engage or release locking connections. In a preferred embodiment, insertion from above is therefore provided without the additional component locking into the suction/brush housing of the suction nozzle or another component of the cleaning device. This has the particular advantage that the user can detach the additional component from the suction nozzle by simply lifting the device and continue to use the device without the additional component.

The additional component preferably has at least one drying area or cleaning area or a combination of both functions. The task of the additional component is to either provide an additional cleaning effect, especially in areas where, for example, the suction effect is too low or a brush cannot be active due to design features, and in combination with wet/dry vacuum devices, if necessary, also to provide improved drying guarantee. Drying can be improved by simply sucking up liquid residues behind the suction mouth. Alternatively, the liquid tension of drops can be influenced by mechanical action, so that instead of a drop-shaped layer of water behind the suction mouth, a smooth liquid film is created that can dry without leaving any residue without leaving water stains.

The cleaning surface can be made of any material. Sponges of all kinds, felt coverings, leather and imitation leather, textile fabrics and knitted fabrics as well as plush are available here. Ideally, the cleaning surface is naturally absorbent so that it can absorb any remaining cleaning fluid. To tear open Long-pile materials are suitable for water drops, the fiber lengths of which are, for example, 5 mm, preferably 8 mm or even more than 10 mm. Even longer pile threads, for example with a length of 0.04 m or 0.1 m, can be used. The cleaning covering can also protrude laterally over the support body and the frame, so that when it comes into contact with a side surface, in particular a skirting board or another, the surface protruding at right angles or obliquely upwards from the floor to be cleaned is dammed up or pushed up, so that a This results in a cleaning surface that is raised to the side.

The additional component can take on cleaning tasks to the right and left of the suction nozzle or brush. In a further embodiment, the additional component has edge elements that protrude laterally upwards and can be used, for example, to clean skirting boards and other vertical surfaces. These edge elements can be hingedly connected to the support body of the additional component. This will then preferably be designed in such a way that the edge elements either form a large-area cleaning element for the floor in a plane with the underside of the additional component or, when folded up by 90°, represent an additional edge cleaning element.

Another task can be the mechanical cleaning of both the edge areas and the area behind a brush or a suction mouth. Particularly if there is a risk that liquid residues or even dust residues will not be vacuumed up, it can make sense to use the additional component to pick up or at least remove such disruptive cleaning residues. The drying and/or cleaning covering can be a continuous covering covering the entire underside and possibly also the side cleaning elements. It can also be integrally connected to the carrier body of the additional component. For example, the drying and/or cleaning coating can be applied to a support body made of plastic as part of a shaping process, for example by flocking.

Letztlich hängt dies vom Einsatzbereich des jeweiligen Reinigungsgerätes ab.Alternatively, the drying and/or cleaning covering can also be attached to the frame of the carrier body using Velcro fasteners, clamp fasteners or similar fasteners. Furthermore, it can be designed as a pocket that can be attached to the carrier body of the additional component or into which the frame can be inserted can be.

If easy loosening by simply removing the suction nozzle from the support body is not desired, but instead a stronger connection between the additional component and the suction/brush housing of the suction nozzle is desired, for example in order to be able to lift the device from step to step when cleaning stairs without To ensure that the additional component comes loose, locking connections can also be provided, which automatically lock when the suction/brush housing of the suction nozzle is inserted into the carrier body of the additional component. For this purpose, a pairing of locking edges is provided at suitable positions.

A particularly preferred embodiment uses a front area of the carrier body that projects vertically upwards and is angled towards the rear area, under which a front edge of the suction nozzle can be pushed. This then forms the front catch. In this case, the rear locking is then implemented on the back of the suction nozzle. This can preferably also include, for example, a locking edge which is provided on a foldable handle of the cleaning device. When the suction nozzle is inserted into the carrier body of the additional component, this connection is then established automatically by spring-mounted locking elements interlocking.

The inclination of the handle of the cleaning device can then be used to release the above-mentioned locking connection. For example, moving the handle into an extreme position or raising the handle into a position perpendicular to the suction nozzle as a storage position can move the locking edges away from each other and thus release the locking connection. This has the advantage that the user You also don't have to bend down to remove the additional component from the suction nozzle. Alternatively, there is of course also the possibility that the user presses his foot on a suitable area of the additional component and can thus push the resiliently mounted locking elements apart. The same can also be done in the case of a frictional connection between the additional component and the suction nozzle as an alternative to the snap-in connection.

In Figure 1 an additional component according to the invention is shown in connection with a floor cleaning device designed as a wet/dry vacuum device 1. The Figures 2 to 10 show the same additional component in different views.

The wet/dry vacuum device 1 is designed here as a so-called handle device, i.e. it has a handle 5, at the upper end of which a handle 4 is provided, via which the user can switch on and guide the wet/dry vacuum device 1. In the lower area of the handle 5, a device housing 2 is provided, in which a dirty liquid tank 7 is removable. The wet/dry vacuum device 1 shown here is not just a pure suction device, but is designed as a combination device for cleaning using a brush and then vacuuming hard surfaces. For the cleaning function, it has a fresh water tank 6 in which fresh water or cleaning liquid is stored for supply to an application device, which is arranged in the front functional area in addition to the lower suction nozzle 3.

An essential feature of the present invention is the additional component that can be or is arranged under the suction nozzle 3. The additional component consists of a support body 8, which is essentially formed by a frame 11. This frame 11 has a flat underside that does not interfere with the cleaning function of the floor nozzle and the brush arranged therein.

The frame 11 is provided with retaining edges that project upwards for connection to the floor nozzle 3. These are, for example, the fastening means 10, which can be seen in the left and right areas of the frame 11. These are two examples of differently shaped wall areas that protrude from bottom to top. They engage in areas of the underside of the suction nozzle 3 and thus ensure that the additional component is dragged along when the suction nozzle 3 moves back and forth.

In this exemplary embodiment, the frame 11 of the additional component is again U-shaped, so that a passage opening remains free in the front area, through which the suction mouth or a brush of the suction nozzle 3 can be in effective contact with the floor to be cleaned. Alternatively, of course, the frame 11 can also be designed as a circumferential, closed frame 11, which then has a window as a passage opening at a suitable location.

The frame 11 has cleaning elements 9 that are directed vertically upwards on its sides. These side surfaces are used to be able to clean vertical surfaces of the room, such as skirting boards or edges of furniture, in one go. This is for example in the view from below, which is in Figure 3 is shown.

That in the Figures 1 to 10 The additional component shown is guided exclusively over the holding elements 10, which cause both lateral guidance and a dragging movement in the main directions of movement of the suction nozzle 3 (back and forth). The particular advantage of this solution is that the user can simply connect the additional component to the suction nozzle 3 from above by placing it on it. No additional fastening movements or measures are required. In the opposite case, this also allows the additional component to be detached from the suction nozzle 3 by simply lifting the cleaning device with the suction nozzle 3.

In the exemplary embodiment shown, the drying and/or cleaning covering is shown schematically as a thin covering which is glued onto the frame 11 and the edge elements 9. This is only to be seen as an example; alternatively, other fastenings or pocket-shaped coverings can also be used. Furthermore, it is of course possible to make the additional carrier completely out of the drying and/or cleaning material from a correspondingly dimensionally stable felt or another cleaning material. This can also be used, especially in conjunction with vacuum cleaners, as a dry-cleaning covering and, for example, have an antistatic effect to absorb dust.

The shape of the frame 11 is best from the Figures 4 and 5 to recognize. In Figure 3 It can also be seen that an area with a width A 1 in the edge area can be additionally covered by the additional component. Furthermore, the area between the outer end of the suction nozzle 3 and the outer edge of the brush with a width A 2 is also covered by the additional component, here in the rear area behind the brush. In this way, the component allows the cleaning areas to be significantly increased and avoids leaving uncleaned surfaces behind.

In Figure 11 a further embodiment of the additional component is shown. This additional component has a ramp-shaped design of the frame 11. The user can simply move the cleaning device with the suction nozzle 3 in a backwards direction onto the additional component. To prevent it from slipping, he can fix it with his foot. By driving onto the ramp, the additional component is locked laterally with the suction/brush housing 2 of the suction nozzle 3. To solve this configuration, the user can step on the rear area of the additional component and simply move the cleaning device forward.

In this embodiment too, no further precautions are necessary on the suction/brush housing 2 of the suction nozzle 3 in order to securely connect the additional component to the suction nozzle 3. Instead of the ramp onto which the suction nozzle 3 is moved, a transverse region of the additional component that is shifted further backwards can of course also be provided. In this case, the entire suction nozzle 3 up to the rollers would then be arranged in the through opening. In order to be able to exert appropriate pressure on the side surfaces, in this case the suction nozzle 3 can stand slightly laterally on the side arms that protrude forward, so that the suction nozzle 3 also uses its weight to press the front part of the frame 11 onto the floor surface to be cleaned.

Even if all the functions of the components mentioned certainly define an advantageous overall object when combined, they can also be used independently of one another. An independent protection for the individual features of the subclaims and the embodiments described here according to Figures 1 to 11 is therefore reserved.
