Method according to any one of claims 1 to 10, characterised in that at least one cutting device, particularly a shears, is arranged between the rolling train (1) and a coiler downstream in rolling direction (R), wherein such sections of the rolled strip which are waste or which contain material not satisfying a predetermined specification are cut off by the at least one cutting device.
  12. Device for producing a metallic strip, comprising a rolling train (1) in which the strip can be rolled out from a slab (3) by means of a number of roll stands (2), as well as a slab connecting device (4), by which the slab (3) to be rolled can be put together from individual part slabs (3a, 3b), wherein the slab connecting device (4) comprises cutting means (8) by which a section (5) of the part slab (3a) lying at the front in rolling direction (R) as well as a section of the part slab (3b) lying at the rear in rolling direction (R) can be separated off, as well as connecting means for joining together the two part slabs (3a, 3b) at the separation point (6), particularly for carrying out the method according to any one of claims 1 to 11,

    measuring means (9) by which a measurement of at least one of the two part slabs (3a, 3b) at the separation point (6) can be carried out, wherein the measuring means (9) is connected with a controller (7), wherein the controller (7) is configured to generate control data for the rolling process from the measurement data of the measuring means (9) and to deliver these control data to the rolling train (1).
  13. Device according to claim 12, characterised in that the measuring means (9) comprises at least one touch measuring element by which detection of geometric sizes of the part slab (3a, 3b) at the separation point (6) can be carried out.
  14. Device according to claim 12, characterised in that the measuring means (9) comprises at least one contactless measuring element, particularly a laser measuring means, by which detection of geometric sizes of the part slab (3a, 3b) at the separation point can be carried out.
  15. Device according to claim 12, characterised in that the measuring means (9) are temperature measuring means by which detection of the temperature and/or temperature distribution of the part slab (3a, 3b) at the separation point (6) can be carried out.
  16. Device according to any one of claims 12 to 15, characterised in that the controller (7) is connected with at least one heating element, with at least one cooling element, with means for setting the rolling speed and/or with at least one means for setting the rolling gap of a roll stand (2).
