Description

Domaine technique de l'inventionTechnical field of the invention

The present invention relates to the technical field of confinement, in particular during interventions in so-called high-risk rooms.

For the purposes of the invention, these risky parts may be parts not yet contaminated, but which are likely to be. This may be due to the fact that these rooms will either accommodate patients who are at least potentially contaminated, or be the location of a contaminating activity in the sense in particular of nuclear, radiological, chemical or biological risks for humans.

These high-risk rooms can also be rooms that are already contaminated, which accommodate patients who are at least potentially contaminated. The expression “at least potentially contaminated” means that the patients concerned are actually contaminated, or have significant suspicions of such contamination.

More precisely, the invention firstly concerns a containment assembly, which is intended to be installed in such a risky room or in the vicinity of the latter. The invention also relates to a method allowing the implementation of this assembly, in particular its installation in the aforementioned room or in the vicinity of the latter.

Etat de la techniqueState of the art

It is well known that the various operations, which are likely to be carried out in potentially contaminated environments, must be carried out according to strict protection rules. This therefore makes it possible to prevent people carrying out the aforementioned operations from becoming victims of this contamination. Such a risk is typically likely to occur during care provided to patients presenting a high contagious risk with epidemic potential.

In order to protect workers, it is known to install containment airlocks in high-risk premises, typically hospital rooms. First of all, we know of solutions using a rigid frame on which a flexible canvas rests. This type of containment airlock does not, however, prove to be satisfactory, particularly because it does not cannot be easily adapted to the different shapes and dimensions of the rooms in which they must be mounted. In addition, the total time required for the assembly, equipment and dismantling of airlocks is relatively high.

In order to overcome these shortcomings, it was proposed to create containment airlocks using inflatable structures. We will cite in particular the documents WO 2007/102798 , WO 2006/125956 , as well as FR 2 963 943 . These alternative solutions do not, however, completely remedy the disadvantages of rigid structures presented above.

It was also proposed, in the document GB 2 104 569 , a containment set intended to equip a risky room. This assembly includes an airlock equipped with two passages, associated with two closures, a skirt secured to the airlock which defines a confined tunnel opening into one of these passages, as well as means for supporting the skirt on a partition of the room .

Il s'agit de US 8 365 804 , FR 2 515 408 , FR 3 005 864 et SE 531 306 .Finally, we will cite other documents, which are representative of a general background of the invention. It is US 8,365,804 , FR 2 515 408 , FR 3 005 864 And SE 531 306 .

Given the above, there is a need to address the limitations of the prior art. There is more particularly a need to equip premises likely to be contaminated, in particular hospitals, in a simple and rapid manner, so as to enable them to accommodate a large number of contaminated patients. This need is felt acutely, during the appearance of large-scale epidemic phenomena, as in the case of the proliferation of viruses such as Corona virus.

The present invention therefore aims to meet this need.

It also aims to offer a containment assembly, which can be installed simply and quickly in different premises, the size and geometry of which may vary.

It also aims to offer such an assembly whose manufacturing cost is reasonable, so that it can be installed on a massive scale in the same medical establishment.

It also aims to provide such an assembly, which satisfactorily prevents the proliferation of contamination, not only from a contaminated room to an uncontaminated space, but also between neighboring contaminated rooms.

Description détailléedetailed description

As shown in the figure 1 , the containment assembly according to the invention, which is designated in its entirety by the reference I, is intended to equip a room that is contaminated or likely to be contaminated. In the example illustrated, this room 100 is a room in a hospital. However, the assembly according to the invention can be fitted to other types of risky parts, within the meaning of the definition given in the introductory part of this description. These risky rooms may in particular consist of conventional premises, such as offices or classrooms. Such premises will be used to accommodate at least potentially contaminated patients, therefore being diverted from their usual use.

Furthermore, a partition 110 allows communication between this room 100 and the corridor 130. For this purpose this partition is hollowed out with an opening, at the periphery of which a frame 120 extends, allowing the articulation of a door of entrance 122. Room 100 is also equipped with various medical devices of conventional type, which will not be described in more detail in what follows, such as in particular a bed 124.

The confinement assembly I according to the invention firstly comprises an airlock 1, which comprises a frame 10. The latter, which is of any type known per se, is advantageously of the inflatable type. This frame 10 supports different walls of the airlock, namely first of all a lower wall 11 and an upper wall 12, as well as opposite side walls 13 and 14. We also note 15 the so-called rear wall of the airlock, which faces towards the corridor 130, as well as 16 the front wall of this airlock.

In their closed position, these slides 17 and 18 delimit a closed interior volume V1 of the airlock, which is waterproof. Furthermore, in their open position, these slides 17 and 18 define passages 19 and 20, allowing a user to pass through the aforementioned walls 15 and 16.

The airlock 1 is made of any suitable material, advantageously treated for protection against fire. Advantageously, the material constituting the airlock is of a flexible nature, which allows easy adaptation of the confinement assembly according to the invention to parts of different geometries. As non-limiting examples, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) with a thickness of around 0.3 to 0.5 millimeters can be used.

The confinement assembly I further comprises a skirt, designated as a whole by the reference 3. This skirt is fixed by any appropriate means, advantageously by welding, at the level of the rear wall 15 of the airlock. This skirt delimits a tunnel 4, which is bordered by respectively lower 31, upper 32 and opposite side walls 33 and 34. This tunnel is open in two opposite directions, both forwards towards the wall 15 and towards the rear towards the main corridor 130.

Advantageously, the material constituting the skirt 3 is identical to that of the airlock 1. Furthermore, also advantageously, the skirt is of a flexible nature. In reference to the figure 2 this means that, typically, this skirt has a possibility of significant rotational movement in two opposite directions, relative to the longitudinal axis X1 of the confinement assembly.

At its rear end, the skirt 3 is provided with a crown 42, intended to be pressed against the rear face 111 of the partition 110, at the periphery of the frame 120. This crown 42, which has an overall U shape , has an upper core 43, as well as lateral wings 44. The external periphery of this core and these wings is bordered by a frame, which is intended to receive an adhesive 45. The latter firstly ensures a reliable support of the crown, while guaranteeing watertightness. For this purpose, this adhesive 45 is advantageously produced in the form of an adhesive strip, reinforced by fibers. As an indication, we will cite the use of a TARLATANE ® type ribbon. Furthermore, a rod 46 is provided, advantageously of a nature telescopic, which provides a mechanical prop function between the side walls 33 and 34 of the skirt.

The crown 42 also has a flap 47, which in use forms a horizontal threshold ensuring sealing at the interface between the partition and the floor. This threshold 47 therefore extends, towards the rear, both the lower wall 31 and the wings 44. Advantageously, this threshold 47 comprises in particular a base 48, produced in the form of a massive plate of a rigid material and dense, typically made of stainless steel whose thickness is for example 5 mm. This base 48 ensures, in cooperation with the support rod 46, satisfactory mechanical stabilization of the skirt 3.

The confinement assembly according to the invention further comprises an extraction member, designated as a whole by the reference 5. The latter consists first of all of a hollow body 50, of generally parallelepiped shape. This hollow body is supplied with air by an inlet connector 52, which is introduced into an orifice 36 made in one of the side walls of the skirt 3. Means not shown, of any known type, ensure the seal between the walls facing this orifice 36 and this connection 52. Furthermore, this hollow body supplies air to an outlet connection 54, which is in communication with a suction and filtration unit 6, which will be described below .

As shown in the figures, the hollow body 50 has a small footprint, in the transverse direction Y1 of the confinement assembly. Consequently, and also thanks to its rigid nature, this hollow body allows easy transit in the confined tunnel, for example for a bed or a wheelchair. It should also be noted that this hollow body can fulfill an additional function, namely allowing the passage of measuring or sampling tools.

The unit 6 firstly comprises a connection plenum 60, which is equipped with an inlet connection 62. The latter can be placed in communication with the outlet connection 54 of the extraction member , typically by a tube which is not shown in the figures but whose path is marked by dotted lines 56. This connection plenum 60 is placed next to a filter 64, of any suitable type, itself adjacent with one or more suction fans, not shown in the figures but shown by the dotted lines 66.

These fans allow air to escape from unit 6, via outlet means. In the example illustrated, these means are formed by a fan outlet grille, which is assigned the reference 68. As a variant not shown, it is possible to provide orifices dedicated to this output function. This unit 6 is also provided with a control 70, of any suitable type, which will not be described in more detail in the following. As shown in particular by Figure 6 , this control is 2 means equipped with gauges 72. The latter make it possible to display the value of the pressure cascades between, on the one hand, the clean corridor 120 and the airlock 1 is, on the other hand, between this airlock and the room 100.

The confinement assembly according to the invention is finally provided with means, allowing a controlled admission of air into the interior of the room 100. For this purpose, two registers 80 and 82 are provided, the structures of which are identical. These registers are integrated into the front and rear walls respectively of the airlock. In a manner known per se, each register is movable between a closed position, in which it prohibits the passage of air between the spaces which it delimits, as well as an open position in which it authorizes this passage of air. in a single predefined direction. Consequently, in the case of the present invention, each register firstly prohibits the passage of air in the unwanted direction, from the chamber towards the airlock, as well as from the airlock towards the confined tunnel. Furthermore, each register allows the passage of air, in this single chosen direction, only when the predefined nominal pressure is reached.

In the present embodiment, registers 80 and 82 have a predefined nominal value. In other words, they allow the passage of air only beyond a predefined pressure difference. As a variant, it is possible to use registers, also of a type known per se, for which the nominal value is adjustable. The nominal values V 80 as well as V 82 of these registers are typically equal. As non-limiting examples, each of these nominal values is between 5 and 15 Pascal.

An example of implementation of the confinement assembly I, in accordance with the invention, will now be described.

Preferably, it is first of all a matter of sealing the interior volume of the chamber 100. For this purpose, a coating of the peelable resin type is advantageously used. This resin is applied to the areas of the partitions, likely to promote air transit with the outside. This exterior transit can take place not only in the direction of the corridor, but also in the direction of adjacent rooms.

It is then a question, after opening the door 122, of setting up the inflatable airlock in the room, in the appropriate place. The airlock frame is then inflated in the classic manner. Then the skirt is deployed towards the door frame, the crown being applied against the external face of the partition 110, as described above. In addition, the adhesive 45 is put in place. It will be noted that, in the example illustrated in particular with reference to the figure 1 , the front door opens towards the inside of the room, rotating to the left. It should be noted that the invention also finds its application to an entrance door mounted to pivot to the right, but also to an entrance door which opens towards the corridor, namely the opposite of the room.

Once the sealing coating is dry, and the various mechanical elements are in place, unit 6 is started. Consequently, air is extracted towards this unit 6, by the intermediate of the extraction member 5, which is materialized by the successive arrows F5 and F6 on the figures 8 to 10 . This air is filtered, then returned to the corridor at the level of the exit means 68, which is indicated by the arrows F 68 on these figures 8 to 10 . An OP operator, visible on the figure 1 , can then pass through corridor 4, then enter airlock 1 and finally room 100. This operator is capable of carrying out, in complete safety, the appropriate tasks within this room.

At the start of the suction phase mentioned above, the registers 80 and 82 are closed, which prevents any passage of air, as shown by the crossed out arrows F80 and F82 on the figure 8 . Consequently, we understand that the pressure inside the chamber then tends to decrease. In other words, this chamber is in depression relative to the confined tunnel. When the value of this depression reaches a predetermined threshold, air is admitted into the room from the confined tunnel, via the successive registers 80 82.

More precisely, as shown in Figure 9 , there is first of all opening of the register 80 separating the room and the airlock. There is then a passage of air, in a single direction, from the airlock towards the room, which is indicated by the arrow F'80. Then, as shown in Figure 10 , register 82 is then opened, separating the tunnel and the airlock. The air can therefore flow, in a single direction, from the tunnel towards the airlock, which is materialized by arrow F'82. Once these two registers are open, there is therefore an admission of air, in a single direction, from the confined tunnel 4 towards the risk room 100.

The predetermined threshold between the internal pressure of the room 100 and the internal pressure of the confined tunnel 4, beyond which there is controlled admission of air into the room, is equal to the sum of the two predefined values V80 and V82, which relate to registers 80 and 82 mounted “in series”. As seen in the above, each of these values is between 5 and 15 Pascal, so that the predetermined threshold above is between 10 and 30 Pascal.

As a variant not shown, it is advantageous to integrate a filter at the air inlet between the tunnel and the airlock. This firstly improves the quality of the air entering this airlock. This also eliminates any risk of contaminated air flowing back towards the confined tunnel and the corridor, particularly in the event of shutdown of the mechanical ventilation system and depression of the corridor.

Once the system has reached its equilibrium, registers 80 and 82 are held in their open position. On the other hand, these registers close each time passages 19 and 20 are opened, in the vicinity of which they are located. This helps to minimize the effects of compression and relaxation, which are linked to these opening phases.

The invention has numerous advantages over the prior art described in the preamble to the pending description.

The containment assembly in accordance with the invention firstly ensures effective protection with respect to the personnel responsible for carrying out operations in the room at risk. In fact, the combination between, on the one hand, the suction and filtration of air coming from the room at risk and, on the other hand, the controlled admission of clean air into this same room, guarantees particularly high confinement. satisfactory from contamination.

Furthermore, the assembly according to the invention benefits from a reduced footprint. Consequently, this allows its installation in small rooms. In addition, this small footprint ensures that medical equipment is preserved, as well as its original function.

It will also be noted that the assembly according to the invention can lend itself to reversible type implementation. Indeed, once the contamination containment phase has been carried out, the various mechanical elements making up this containment assembly can be dismantled and then extracted from the part to be treated, in a simple manner.

In addition, the assembly according to the invention can be installed quickly within the room at risk. This is particularly interesting in the case of an epidemic type episode, for which it is necessary to equip a large number of rooms, in order to accommodate a high number of at least potentially contaminated patients.

The fact of using two registers, on the one hand between the tunnel and the airlock, and on the other hand between the airlock and the risk room, presents specific advantages. In fact, this makes it possible to avoid any risk of contamination rising, particularly through the airlock.

The fact of using a support crown, whose cross section is greater than that of the tunnel outlet, also presents specific advantages. Indeed, this gives the possibility of adaptation to entrance doors of different sizes. In essence, the invention could find application to any entrance door, the section of which is between that of the tunnel and that of the support crown.
