Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a shower device that can be mounted on a bowl, in particular a toilet bowl.
  • a mobile shower device which is only temporarily mounted on the bowl in order to implement an abdominal shower function for a user sitting above the bowl or on the bowl during assembly.
  • the shower device has a fastening area with a fastening device. It also contains a shower arm with a shower nozzle therein, the shower arm of course being connected to the fastening device.
  • the shower device when mounted on the edge of a bowl, should protrude slightly downwards from this edge into the bowl opening, for which purpose the shower arm, but also other parts of the shower device, can be used.
  • the fastening device it is advisable to design the fastening device so that it can be attached to the edge of a bowl, in particular as a flat fastening device for a flat area of the edge of the bowl.
  • the part of the shower device present in the area of assembly on the edge of the bowl is referred to here as the fastening area.
  • the shower device has a kink area in which, in particular, a water pipe of the shower device for supplying the shower attachment to the shower arm and the shower nozzle undergoes a change in direction that is more than 20 ° downwards.
  • the invention addresses the problem of specifying a favorable design for a shower device that can only be temporarily mounted on a bowl.
  • the shower device should be designed to be as flat as possible, especially in the bend area, i.e. the area where the water pipe changes direction (with regard to the flow direction of the water), because the shower device is therefore particularly unobtrusive and particularly convenient under a toilet seat or the like can be accommodated. Even without a toilet seat, a flat design doesn't add much bulk.
  • the terms “fastening and buckling area” are to be understood spatially and not necessarily related to connected or separate components.
  • the water pipe in the bend area of the shower device has, on the one hand, a dimensionally stable flow cross section and is therefore not caused by, for example.
  • this flow cross section is designed to be flat, i.e. is designed to be shorter in the vertical direction (relative to the installed position of the shower device) than perpendicular to it in the horizontal direction (and of course perpendicular to the direction of flow).
  • “flat” are e.g. B. a transversely elliptical flow cross section or a transversely rectangular one or transitions between them (rectangles with rounded corners and the like).
  • the flatter flow cross-section allows a flat design of the shower device in this kink area, while still having a favorable flow cross-section in order to avoid excessive line resistances.
  • the dimensional stability prevents the flow cross-sectional area from being flattened too much.
  • the statement for the flat flow cross section preferably also applies to a downstream area, for example up to a transition into the shower arm, where more height is possible anyway due to the increasing distance from the edge of the bowl.
  • the flow cross section naturally refers to an area perpendicular to the direction of flow.
  • a flexible water pipe part is preferably provided upstream of the bend area. There is less risk of flattening and a flexible water pipe part makes it easier to connect the shower device to a supply of shower water, for example to the basic device described in more detail below.
  • the transition can e.g. B. with a connection piece provided by the dimensionally stable water pipe part, onto which a hose is or is attached as a flexible water pipe part.
  • the connecting piece can preferably already have a flat flow cross section in the above sense.
  • a corresponding cross-sectional shape is impressed on the flexible water pipe part, at least in the area of the connecting piece, whereby the hose can have a circular cross-section for reasons of simplification (in the unloaded state). For example, if it is flattened a little on the edge of a flat toilet bowl, it won't do any harm.
  • the bend angle already mentioned i.e. the change in direction of the water pipe in the bend area, is particularly preferably more than 25°, 30°, 35° or even 40°.
  • a longitudinal direction of the shower arm does not necessarily have to have such a large bend angle compared to the water pipe direction upstream of the bend area (usually the horizontal). This is preferably over 20°, 22°, 24° or even over 25°.
  • the first-mentioned angle is approximately 47° and the second is 27°.
  • the shower device discussed here is to be attached to the (toilet) bowl and connected via a water pipe to a supply device that houses other technical devices, in particular those with a larger space requirement.
  • a water heater can be provided in this basic device, in particular an instantaneous water heater.
  • the base device can in turn have a water tank with a water pump or, less preferably, a connection for connecting to a water pipe network, such as another hose for connection to a rooster.
  • a shower device that is as small and compact as possible with the elements that make sense at this point is then attached in the area of the actual bowl.
  • This attachment can z. B. via a downward-pointing flat fastening surface of the fastening device, the fastening area of the shower device also being designed to be as flat as possible, in particular with respect to the fastening surface of the fastening device in a direction perpendicular to the fastening surface having a height of at most 10%, namely on the one hand, based on a width of the fastening area perpendicular to the flow direction and on the other hand, based on a length of the fastening area parallel to the flow direction of the shower water in the fastening area.
  • the shower facility can be used in this area, for example.
  • B. can be accommodated under a toilet seat, even without special adjustment of this seat, for example in the form of an increase compared to the toilet bowl.
  • the attachment can be done in various ways, for example by snapping or clamping with the creation of a positive fit with the edge of the bowl, by gluing, using suction cups and the like.
  • the use of at least one adhesive pad, i.e. a flat cushion has proven to be particularly advantageous, which preferably adheres without leaving any residue to a smooth bowl surface, for example on the surface of a sanitary ceramic, using a large number of microscopic suction devices.
  • This solution is residue-free (in contrast to adhesives), simple and easy to clean, and can also be implemented flat (in contrast to clamping devices or conventional suction cups) and, after simple cleaning, e.g. B. running water can be used many times. So can e.g. B. if cleaning is due anyway, the adhesive pad must also be cleaned beforehand the shower facility is installed next time.
  • a commercially available example is the Fischer brand “Vacuum Pad”.
  • a plurality of adhesive pads can leave space available in between for guiding a water pipe that has to be taken into account in terms of the overall height.
  • the invention also provides for the shower arm to be connected to the rest of the shower device in a latching manner and accordingly to be able to be dismantled from it in a latching manner. Then e.g. B. a more or less cylindrically shaped shower arm is snapped into a corresponding receptacle and thus also connected to it with regard to the water flow, the shower arm being removed without the need to dismantle the entire shower device and z. B. can be cleaned separately. Even if the entire shower installation is to be removed for cleaning purposes, cleaning is easier with the shower arm separated and certain areas are more accessible.
  • the exemplary embodiment also illustrates this.
  • the part held in place does not necessarily have to be the complete shower arm, but the base can, so to speak, already contain a piece that could be referred to as a shower arm part.
  • This does not fundamentally change the above advantages.
  • the telescopic mechanism which is explained in more detail below, this should, if necessary, be completely part of the part that can be removed by unlocking.
  • the shower device can have a one-piece plastic part that contains the already mentioned locking connection device for the shower arm.
  • this plastic part can make up the entire shower device in addition to the shower arm, with the exception of an element carrying the fastening surface, if present, and a flexible water pipe part, as long as it is attached to the bowl (i.e. with the exception of the base device).
  • the transition between the dimensionally stable water pipe part and the flexible water pipe part can also be realized on the shower arm, as in the exemplary embodiment. This makes construction simple and cost-effective.
  • the telescopic mechanism already mentioned is a preferred embodiment of the shower arm itself and has at least two telescopic elements that move telescopically relative to one another in the longitudinal direction, including the water flow direction.
  • This means that the telescopic mechanism can remove a shower nozzle provided at its distal end from the fastening area when it is extended and the length of the shower arm can be reduced again by retracting it.
  • Such a telescopic mechanism is essentially cylindrical, but with changing radii, and can be fastened in a locking manner in the manner already mentioned.
  • an electric motor that is common in other shower devices for toilets is dispensed with, but a driven movement of the telescopic mechanism is still used, namely with the help of the water pressure of the shower water.
  • This can be a supply line pressure, possibly initially or always moderated by an intermediate valve, or the pressure of a water pump.
  • the retraction movement can then z. B. via a return spring that counteracts the extension movement, for example a coil spring provided in the shower arm.
  • a guide for shower water can be provided on an inside of a first (proximal) element, ie a channel-like depression or a closed channel actually formed in the wall.
  • a first element ie a channel-like depression or a closed channel actually formed in the wall.
  • shower water can be guided past a seal between the first and a second element of the telescopic mechanism contained therein. This shower water can then drain outwards through further leaks, for example through a distal annular gap between the two elements.
  • the shower arm can therefore release water when retracted, which can be used advantageously in various ways.
  • there can be a gap between the first and the second Telescopic element can be rinsed before and/or after the shower arm is or has been extended.
  • the contents of the water pipe can be supplied by a water heater, e.g. B. in the base device, are already ejected up to the shower nozzle before the actual showering process, so that the user does not come into contact with this already cold shower water.
  • a water heater e.g. B. in the base device
  • this can be done by initially working with a lower water pressure so that the shower arm does not extend yet, and this water pressure is only increased afterwards, i.e. after the cleaning and cold water removal process.
  • a very similar design option concerns a space between the second element and a third element that may be contained therein.
  • the shower nozzle in particular can be used to access this intermediate space, which can be arranged within the second element when the telescopic mechanism is in the retracted state.
  • the water can then penetrate into this space via the shower nozzle and e.g. B. can be delivered via a similar annular gap as just described (here between the second and third elements) or via an additional opening provided in this distal area.
  • the shower arm as a modular unit that can be assembled and dismantled, can have a connection for a flexible water pipe part on a side opposite the shower nozzle.
  • This can in particular be the connection piece already described with a preferably flat flow cross section.
  • the downstream water pipe part with a dimensionally stable flow cross-section is then flat in the flow cross-section in any case in the bend area and preferably beyond that.
  • this water pipe part then opens into an interior of the telescopic mechanism of the shower arm, the cross-sectional shape of which (perpendicular to the direction of movement of the telescopic mechanism) is determined by the telescopic members and their displaceability and is accordingly larger than the flow cross section of the upstream water pipe.
  • the shower arm in the sense of a cylinder or telescopic mechanism
  • the connecting piece can already be located in the fastening area, in particular between the two adhesive pads described.
  • the invention also relates to the use of the shower device for combination with the basic device.
  • Figure 1 shows a shower device according to the invention with a shower arm 1, which is shown here in an extended state, i.e. with telescopic elements 8 and 9 protruding from the rest of the shower device on the right.
  • the shower arm 1 is held in a locking manner in an otherwise largely one-piece plastic part 2, which is in Figure 2 is shown without the shower arm 1 for comparison.
  • Figure 1 another flexible water pipe part 23 on the left edge, although only partially. This leads over a certain length from the actual use position of the shower device (on the edge of a toilet bowl) to a base device standing on the floor next to the toilet according to the Figures 9-11 .
  • two adhesive pads 4 are attached in a fastening area 3 on an underside of the plastic part 2.
  • the shower facility can be removed Figure 1 pressed flat onto the flat edge of a standard toilet bowl and then sticks there. If the edge of the bowl and the adhesive pads 4 are sufficiently clean, many microscopic suction devices come into effect on the underside of the adhesive pads 4. This means that the shower facility can be removed at will and without leaving any residue and may need to be cleaned before reassembly.
  • the fastening area 3 is in the left part of the Figure 1 recognizable flat area, which merges in a bend area 5 into a deep holding device 6 which forms a locking device for holding the shower arm 1.
  • This holding device 6 has (seen in the axial direction of the shower arm 1) essentially an inverted U-shape that is open at the bottom, compare Figure 2 and 3 , whereby it covers the shower arm 1 like a roof upwards and to the sides.
  • the reference number 7 denotes locking projections for holding the shower arm 1; there is also one in the Figures 1 and 2 Opening pointing to the right for the telescopic elements 8 and 9 of the shower arm 1 narrows slightly downwards, as above all Figure 2 shows.
  • the flexible shower water pipe part 23 is simply pushed onto the connector 10, this connector 10 having a highly elliptical cross-sectional shape, compare especially that Figures 3 and 5 , which forces the flexible shower water pipe part 23.
  • the flexible shower water pipe part 23 can also be pressed somewhat flat between the flat structures holding the adhesive pads 4 in the fastening area 3.
  • the connecting piece 10 leads via a rigid water pipe part 11 into the actual cylinder part, namely a telescopic element 12, of the shower arm 1, in which the telescopic elements 8 and 9 are also accommodated in the retracted state, compare Figures 5 and 8th .
  • the rigid water pipe part 11 runs at an angle to the horizontal or the direction of the connecting piece 10, the angle according to Figures 7 and 8th between approximately 45° and 60° (depending on whether the upper or lower limit is considered).
  • the rigid water pipe part 11 widens and thus leads the shower water into the cylinder part already mentioned, namely the telescopic element 12, the corresponding rear boundary of this cylinder part 12 being designed obliquely and thus continuing the lower wall of the rigid shower water pipe part 11 in a certain sense, compare Figure 7 and 8th .
  • the rigid shower water pipe part 11 also has a flat-elliptical flow cross section downstream of the connecting piece 10, which is evident from the Figures 5-7 expands in the transition into the telescopic element 12.
  • shower water can be supplied to the shower arm 1 via the flexible shower water pipe part 23, which in turn is held on the toilet bowl with the plastic part 2 via an adhesive connection, but can be released from this plastic part 2 in a snap-locking manner. Accordingly, the shower arm 1 can be removed without completely dismantling the shower device and z. B. be cleaned. Furthermore, the separation into the two snap-connected parts, namely the shower arm 1 and the plastic part 2, has advantages in terms of production technology.
  • the plastic part 2 largely protects the shower arm 1 from dirt when it is retracted, compare Figure 4 .
  • the shower arm 1 has a telescopic mechanism with two movable telescopic elements 8 and 9, with the cylinder part 12 forming the first telescopic element, which accordingly accommodates the second telescopic element 8 (which accommodates the third telescopic element 9).
  • the Figures 6 and 7 compared to the Figures 5 and 8th show the extended and retracted state, with the Figures 6 and 7 shows a coil spring tensioned between the rear sloping wall of the telescopic element 12 on the one hand and a holding arm 13 in the third telescopic element 9 on the other hand as a return spring 24. This counteracts the water pressure supplied via the water pipe, so that the retraction and extension of the shower arm can be controlled using the water pressure.
  • the second and third telescopic elements 8 and 9 have radial outward projections at their respective proximal ends, which are designated by the reference numeral 14 and 15 are designated and each have an O-ring for sealing. As the Figures 6 and 7 show, this sealing occurs in the extended state by resting against an inward-pointing radial collar at the respective distal end of the first and second telescopic elements 12 and 8, respectively. When retracted, however, this seal does not exist. Rather, an in Figure 7 and Figure 8 recognizable channel depression as a shower water guide 16, which is actually distributed three times over the circumference, the proximal radial projection 14 and leads water past it into the intermediate space 17 ( Figure 8 ) between the cylinder part, i.e. the first telescopic element 12, and the second telescopic element 8.
  • FIGS. 6 to 8 Incidentally, show a swirl chamber 22 below and upstream of the shower nozzle 18, which relates to the prior art EP 2 629 546 is referred to and which is connected to an internal cavity located proximally in the third telescopic element 9 (and incidentally the internal cavities in the second and the first telescopic element), namely via a short axially extending channel piece.
  • the already described nose 21 at the distal end of the third telescopic element 9 also serves as a stop when retracting because it comes into contact with the distal end of the second telescopic element 8 at the bottom, namely in a niche specially provided for this purpose, compare Figure 1 .
  • the nose 21 is long enough so that e.g. B. in the event of a jam or without water pressure, the shower arm 1 can also be extended manually. To do this, simply pull the nose 21 with a finger.
  • Figure 9 shows a water tank 31 with a substantially cuboid shape, which is placed on a base part 32 and covered at the top by a lid 33.
  • the water tank 31 can consist of transparent or translucent material and display the water level. If necessary, it can simply be lifted upwards using two recessed grips, one of which is in Figure 9 visible and numbered 34, serve. After lifting the lid 33, the water tank 31 can then be filled, placed back on the base part 32 and closed again with the lid 33. Without the lid, the water tank is around 16.5 cm high and can therefore easily be placed under a tap, for example. B. to keep in a sink.
  • the base part 32 also essentially has a cuboid shape. It has no external switches or other controls other than what is mentioned below Figure 10 is explained. If the in Figure 9 visible housing cover is removed, the result is a view as in Figure 11 , which is not explained in all details.
  • a central elastomer element 35 for which the housing cover has a central recess and into which a valve of the water tank 31 engages.
  • the elastomer part 35 is made in one piece with a hose 37 which leads to the water pump 38.
  • the water pump 38 is mounted in a vibration-insulated manner to reduce noise and is connected to a water heater 39 in a manner not shown.
  • Figure 11 shows a lever 40 pointing approximately vertically upwards in front of the water heater, which has a second lever arm, not shown here, which is close to the floor and runs approximately at right angles to it.
  • the second lever arm can have an in Figure 10 Push button 41 shown above can be pushed upwards and is articulated with its end opposite the transition (to the second arm). Accordingly, pressing the button 41 leads to an inward movement of the in Figure 11 shown vertical arm of the lever 40, which activates an electrical button hidden behind it and triggers the reset function of an overheating protection of the instantaneous water heater 39.
  • the base part 32 contains an electronic control 42 and some other parts that are not particularly relevant to the understanding of the present invention.
  • the controller 42 has an interface according to the “Low Energy Bluetooth” standard and can z. B. can be addressed via an app on a mobile phone. This allows the user to operate the shower function and also program the control 42 without touching the base device 30. Only the reset function with the mechanical button 41 is an exception here.
