Description
The invention relates to an awning, in particular a conservatory or weather protection awning, with the features specified in the preamble of patent claim 1.
Eine der Endschienen dient als sogenanntes Markisengehäuse und nimmt eine Antriebseinrichtung in der Regel in Form eines Elektromotors für den Markisenbehang aufSuch an awning usually has an awning curtain, for example in the form of an awning fabric, a support frame with lateral guide rails for this awning curtain running in the projection direction of the awning curtain and end rails running transversely thereto for stationary mounting of the awning on a building and/or on supports. One of the end rails serves as a so-called awning housing and usually accommodates a drive device in the form of an electric motor for the awning curtain
A drop profile at the drop-out end of the awning curtain is mounted displaceably driven in and against the drop-out direction with its ends in the respective guide rail by means of a drive belt circulating therein via end-side deflection rollers.
The assembly of such an awning at the place of installation is very complex in view of the many functional parts, especially in the chain of drive elements from the motor, if necessary via corresponding intermediate gear stages and suitable shafts for torque transmission up to the coupling with the deflection roller assigned to the awning housing for the front profile drive belt and time consuming.
The invention is therefore based on the object of further developing an awning of the generic type in such a way that assembly of the awning at the installation site is significantly simplified.
This object is achieved by the features specified in the characterizing part of claim 1. Accordingly, on the one hand, the guide rails are each designed at least with the deflection rollers and drive belts for the drop profile as a factory-assembled unit that can be connected to the awning housing during final assembly of the awning. On the other hand, the drive device can be coupled via at least one drive shaft to the deflection roller to be driven in the guide rail, the length of the drive shaft can be telescopically adjusted in such a way that in an intermediate assembly step before the actual final assembly of the awning, the drive shaft is disengaged from the deflection roller to be driven and at the final assembly of the awning, the drive shaft can be telescopically pulled out and engaged in a rotationally fixed manner with the deflection roller to be driven.
When installing the awning, it is sufficient to mount the awning housing, which is pre-equipped with the drive and drive shafts, at the installation site of the awning, for example on a building wall, and to connect the guide rails, which are also pre-assembled, to the awning housing. Then the telescoping drive shafts are simply pulled out and connected to the respective deflection roller of the drive belt for the drop profile so that they cannot rotate.
Preferred developments of the subject matter of the invention result from the dependent claims. So each drive shaft can have an outer guide tube having a non-circular longitudinal channel in which a coupling rail that can be brought into engagement with the deflection roller to be driven is mounted in a longitudinally displaceable manner in a rotationally fixed manner relative thereto. This represents a simple, robust solution for a telescoping drive shaft, in particular when the coupling rail is designed as a polygonal rod, in particular a square rod.
To fix the outer guide tube relative to the coupling rail in its pushed-in and pushed-out assembly positions, a locking pin is preferably provided which penetrates both parts and which can also be designed as a clip that can be snapped onto the outer guide tube. This represents a particularly easy to operate, but at the same time reliable locking of the drive shafts in their respective telescopic position.
In view of the fact that, depending on the size of an awning, not only two lateral guide rails can be provided, but also one or more guide rails mounted in the middle for additional stabilization of the support frame and guidance of the front rail, it represents an advantageous development with regard to the subject matter of the invention if one guide tube with a sliding coupling rail is provided for each guide rail, one of the guide tubes or one of the coupling rails being non-rotatably coupled to a drive motor and being non-rotatably engageable with the other coupling rails or guide tubes by telescopic extension during final assembly of the awning.
According to a further preferred embodiment of the invention, the drive motor of the drive device is coupled via a gear to the drive shaft driven by it. This allows the drive train of the awning optimally to the respective conditions in terms of torque and drive speed.
Finally, for a further simplification of assembly and, above all, subsequent maintenance, the awning housing can be provided with an assembly opening which can be closed by an inspection cover and which advantageously extends over the entire width of the underside of the awning housing. The telescoping drive shafts are optimally accessible via this opening during final assembly. This also applies to any maintenance or replacement work on the electric motor drive. The latter can also be exchanged in a very efficient manner by accessing the assembly opening with the inspection cover removed, without having to exchange the entire drive train.
