Description

Technisches Gebiettechnical field

The invention relates to a method and a system for the transfer of materials, in particular for the transfer of powders, contents, suspensions and/or liquids.

Stand der TechnikState of the art

Safe and contamination-free handling of products is an essential requirement in various industrial sectors, including the pharmaceutical, chemical and food industries. Depending on the regulatory assessment of specific substances and/or products, measures must be taken to protect people and/or the environment from exposure to the product. On the other hand, specific products, in particular pharmaceutical products or products from the food sector, must be processed with the exclusion of environmental and/or human contamination. In order to meet these requirements, mainly closed systems, so-called " containment " systems, are used for filling, emptying, processing and decanting these products.

Various containment systems are known from the prior art which, against the background of increasingly strict regulatory requirements, have proposed a number of possible solutions in recent years.

Dokument EP1958900B1 beschreibt ein Folienanschlusssystem, in dem Material durch ein schlauchförmiges Linerstück, das sich indirekt zwischen den Behältnissen erstreckt, um den Übergang zwischen den Behältnissen abzudichten, und mittels Spanneinheiten temporär an den Behältern abgedichtet fixiert wird.document EP1958900B1 describes a foil connection system in which material is fixed temporarily in a sealed manner to the containers by means of a tubular liner piece which extends indirectly between the containers in order to seal the transition between the containers and by means of clamping units.

Das System basiert auf dem Prinzip, dass Liner, beziehungsweise Beutel mittels einer sogenannten Doppel O-Ring Technologie dicht an eine Kammer angeschlossen werden.document EP30041749B1 describes another foil attachment method for discharging a liner attached to a container, the material flowing over a liner attached to an opening of a chamber by means of a lever mechanism and a sealing flange. The system is based on the principle that liners or bags are tightly connected to a chamber using so-called double O-ring technology.

Darüber hinaus fallen in diesen Transferverfahren erhebliche Abfälle, i.e. verbrauchte Beutelreste, Schutzfolien und/oder O-Ringe, an.In the EP1958900B1 and EP30041749B1 The foil connection methods described have the disadvantage that bag remnants, protective foils and/or O-rings have to be removed manually before each transfer process so that the material can be transferred unhindered from an output device to a receiving device. Alternating between successive transfers is therefore tedious and inefficient. In addition, significant waste, ie used bag remnants, protective films and/or O-rings, is generated in these transfer processes.

Dokument US2001027822 beschreibt eine Vorrichtung zur Ausgabe von Flüssigmaterialien, basierend auf einem Behälter mit einem Ausflusskanal, umfassend eine Stützeinrichtung zum Stützen des Behälters, vorzugsweise in Form eines konischen Trichters mit einer zentralen Öffnung, ein Gehäuse mit (i) einem Ausgangsstutzen, dessen Mündung innerhalb des Gehäuses angeordnet ist und nach oben zur Öffnung im Trichter weist, und (ii) einer Vorrichtung, die einen ringförmigen Klemmring bewegen kann, um den Ausflusskanal des Behälters gegen die Mündung des Ausgangsstutzen zu klemmen.document US2001027822 describes a device for dispensing liquid materials, based on a container with an outflow channel, comprising a support device for supporting the container, preferably in the form of a conical funnel with a central opening, a housing with (i) an outlet nozzle, the mouth of which is arranged within the housing and pointing upwards towards the opening in the funnel, and (ii) a device capable of moving an annular clamping ring to clamp the outflow channel of the container against the mouth of the outlet nozzle.

Der Schlauchliner weist diametral gegenüberliegende Halteabschnitte mit jeweils zurückziehbaren Handschuhen auf.document WO2010134102 describes a device for transferring powders through a hose liner which is attached at one end to the dispensing container and at its other end is attached to a guide channel by means of a docking device. The pipe liner has diametrically opposed holding sections, each with retractable gloves.

In the present invention, a solution is to be found which avoids the shortcomings of the prior art with regard to the efficiency of the transfer process and the consumption of material.

Darstellung der ErfindungPresentation of the invention

It is an object of the invention to provide a material transfer method in which a barrier to the environment is maintained during material transfer. The transfer process should preferably take place in a closed system. In addition, the method should enable a simple and uncomplicated transition between successive transfer processes. In particular, it should be possible to replace the container receiving the material without breaking through the barrier to the environment.

According to the invention, this object is achieved by the independent claims 1 and 10 and their dependent claims.

Specifically, this objective is achieved through a materials transfer process that includes the following steps:
  1. a. Docking a receiving device by means of a first docking unit, which has a through opening, to an outlet opening of a transfer chamber,
  2. b. positioning a dispenser at an inlet port of the transfer chamber such that materials can be transferred through the inlet port into the transfer chamber
  3. c. Dispensing of the materials contained in the dispensing device through the inlet opening of the transfer chamber and transfer of said materials through the transfer chamber and the passage opening of the docking unit into the receiving device,
  4. i.e. Closing the receiving device after the material has been transferred and removing the receiving device from the docking unit.

The method is characterized in that the first and a second docking unit can assume two different positions in relation to the transfer chamber. In a first position, the first docking unit hermetically docks onto an opening wall delimiting the outlet opening. In a second position, the first docking unit and the second docking unit simultaneously dock hermetically to the opening wall. In a third position, the first docking unit is released into an interior of the transfer chamber. While the first docking unit occupies the third position, the second docking unit occupies the first position. The first and the second docking unit can be translated along the opening wall while maintaining the hermetic connection, so that in the first, in the second and in the third position, as well as during a change of position, there is a continuous hermetic connection between the outlet opening and the first and/or the second docking unit is maintained.

  2. (ii) eine Andockeinheit mit einer Durchgangsöffnung.
Furthermore, this aim is achieved by a transfer system suitable for transferring materials according to the method described above and comprising:
  1. (i) a transfer chamber defining a boundary between an interior and an exterior environment and an outlet port defined by a first port wall is, and an inlet opening which is delimited by a second opening wall, and
  2. (ii) a docking unit with a through opening.

The docking unit of the transfer system can connect hermetically to the first opening wall of the outlet opening and/or to the second opening wall of the inlet opening. Furthermore, the docking unit can be displaced along the first wall of the opening and/or the second wall of the opening in a translatory movement. The first opening wall and/or the second opening wall are designed in such a way that a first and a second docking unit can dock simultaneously and in each case hermetically on the same opening wall. Further advantageous embodiments are specified in the dependent claims.

The hermetic connection between the docking unit and the opening wall is preferably formed by at least one sealing element, such as a sealing ring or O-ring. One or more sealing elements are preferably attached to the docking unit. It is also possible that one or more sealing elements are attached to the opening wall.

There is a hermetic connection between the docking unit and the outlet opening if at least one docking unit docks hermetically to the wall of the opening, preferably by means of a sealing element. Since this hermetic connection is maintained during the translational movement, for example a shifting, of the docking unit in the outlet opening, the first docking unit can be shifted into a position that allows a second docking unit to be docked in the outlet opening. This advantageously enables a first docking unit to be replaced by a second docking unit without the barrier to the environment formed by the hermetic connections being interrupted or impaired.

However, the translational movement of the docking unit can also be caused by a screwing movement, which translates the docking unit along the opening wall.

The hermetic barrier is particularly important because it means that the receiving devices that are attached to the docking units can be exchanged while essentially excluding the environment. Contamination either of the environment or by the environment is thus prevented.

In order to keep the process running as efficiently as possible, it is advantageous if docking units that have been released into the interior of the transfer chamber are removed from the outlet opening by a suitable mechanism. This prevents the opening and the material transfer from being blocked by released docking units.

A suitable mechanism may be based on the shape of the transfer chamber, for example. For example, the outlet opening can be located in a raised section of the inner wall of the transfer chamber, so that the released docking units slide down into a lower-lying section of the inner wall after being removed from the outlet opening. On the other hand, a suitable mechanism can also be based on an automated process. Other suitable mechanisms for removing the released docking unit from the outlet opening are conceivable and possible.

The transfer chamber is preferably suitable for forming a closed system. On the one hand, this can be formed when the outlet and inlet openings are closed at the same time. On the other hand, a closed system exists when an output container and a receiving container are hermetically docked to the transfer chamber.

However, it is also possible that either the output device and/or the receiving device are open devices and Feed materials into or out of the transfer chamber. A dispenser need not be hermetically connected to the transfer chamber to allow for the transfer of materials. For example, a dispenser spout or funnel may be inserted through the inlet port of the chamber.

Within the scope of this invention, it is also possible for the docking unit to be connected to the inlet opening in order to hermetically dock a dispensing device to the transfer chamber. In this embodiment, a receiving device can be attached to the outlet opening of the transfer chamber by means of a further docking unit. On the other hand, it is also possible in this case that no docking element is inserted into the outlet opening. The outlet opening can, for example, be in direct connection with the environment either without an additional device or by means of a funnel, or it can open into a receiving device.

However, in order to enable an efficient and clean transfer of materials, the hermetic connection between the docking unit and the transfer chamber must be maintained during the transfer. Although the systems described here in the previous paragraph are essentially separated from the environment, there is no continuous hermetic barrier to the environment. These systems are therefore largely, but not completely, isolated from the environment.

Depending on the specific safety and hygiene requirements of the material to be transferred, either a closed system or a substantially sealed system can be chosen for the transfer.

Optionally, the transfer system can also be equipped with a docking system, by means of which the docking unit is inserted into the outlet opening. Such a docking system offers the advantage that docking units are reproducible and reliable Docking are inserted into the outlet port. The docking system also increases the efficiency of swapping out the receiving devices.

Different versions of a docking system are possible. For example, a docking system can have a lifting platform that can be raised by means of a mechanical lever mechanism for inserting the docking unit into the outlet opening. The lever mechanism can be either manually operated or automated. However, the lifting of the lifting platform can also be based on an automated pneumatic mechanism.

To clean the transfer system, the transfer chamber can be equipped with a preferably integrated cleaning system. Such a system can be based, for example, on a spray cleaning system or a compressed air cleaning system, with the nozzles of the cleaning devices preferably being attached to the inner walls of the transfer chamber. Such a cleaning device is preferably equipped to clean the interior of the transfer chamber and the walls of the inlet and/or outlet opening.

It is also advantageous to carry out a cleaning step after the transfer of materials has ended or between different transfer processes. Said cleaning device can be used for this purpose. It may also be advisable to remove debris, materials, contaminants and equipment from the transfer chamber from time to time.

For this purpose, a cleaning container suitable for receiving said materials and objects and/or for receiving liquids, for example cleaning liquids, can be attached to the transfer chamber. The cleaning container can, for example, be temporarily attached to the outlet opening of the transfer chamber. Optionally, the docking system can also be provided for docking the cleaning container to the outlet opening.

If manual intervention in the transfer chamber is desired, the transfer chamber can be a so-called " Giove Box" . This offers the advantage that the operator of the system can carry out manual work in the transfer chamber without posing an additional risk of contamination for the system and without exposing himself to an additional risk of exposure to the transfer material.

Wege zur AusfĂĽhrung der ErfindungWays to carry out the invention

Various exemplary embodiments of the present invention are illustrated in the figures.

So shows figure 1 a simple version of a transfer chamber 15 equipped with a docking system 2. In the example given, the inlet opening 101 and the outlet opening 102 of the transfer chamber 15 are delimited by an inlet connection piece 111 and an outlet connection piece 112, respectively. Said sockets can prove to be advantageous for connecting and/or docking output devices or receiving devices 80 .

In addition to attaching a guide element 55 ( figure 7 ) serve. The optional guide element 55 is suitable for guiding the material to be transferred through the interior 10 of the transfer chamber in the direction of the outlet opening or into the passage opening of the docking element. The guide element encloses a guide channel 551. Furthermore, an outlet 112 can be used to a sufficient height of To create inlet opening 102 delimiting opening wall 12, so that a simultaneous hermetic docking of two docking units 3 is made possible.

In figure 1 the docking unit 3 is inserted into the docking system 2 in preparation for the transfer process. In the example given, a receiving device 80 is attached to the docking unit 3 . The docking system 2 shown has a lifting platform 21 which can be moved in translation along the guide rods 22 of the docking system.

A detailed view of possible embodiments of the docking unit 3 is in figure 2 to see. The docking unit 3 has an outside 32 to which sealing elements 4 are attached in the examples shown, and an inside 31 which delimits a through-opening 301 .

As in Figure 2a shown, the receiving device can be connected directly to the docking unit. In this case, there is a permanent, fixed connection between the docking unit 3 and the receiving device 80. In this exemplary embodiment, the receiving device 80 can be made of flexible material and/or of rigid material. The receiving device 80 can be a container whose only opening is attached to the docking unit 3 . However, the receiving device 80 can also be a device with more than one opening, a so-called “open receiving device”, for example a film tube with two openings. An open receiving device and/or receiving container can have flexible as well as rigid sections.

Another possible embodiment of a docking unit 3, to which a receiving device can be attached temporarily or permanently by means of a clamping mechanism, is in Figure 2b pictured. The docking unit 3 shown here has two elements that can be separated from one another, namely a docking element 3a and a fastener 3b. The docking element 3a has an extension 30a which is compatible with a notch 30b of the fastening element 3b and can preferably snap into it. Various shapes of protrusion 30a and compatible notch 30b are possible. The shapes should be chosen so that a flexible opening end 80a of a receiving device can be clamped between the docking element 3a and the fixing element 3b and thus fixed, as described below.

To attach a flexible opening end 80a of a receiving device, said flexible opening end is positioned between the docking element 3a and the fastening element 3b in such a way that the through-opening 301 of the docking element 3a opens into the opening of the receiving device 80 . The opening end 80a is then turned outward from the through hole 301 of the fastener 3b via the notch 30b of the fastener. After snapping the docking element 30a into the fastening element 30b, said opening end 80a is clamped between these two elements, as a result of which the receiving device 80 is fastened to the docking unit 3 and sealed.

On the other hand, it is also possible to attach a closed, flexible end, or a flexible section, of a receiving container 80 to the docking unit 3 by means of docking element 3a and fastening element 3b. In this case, the fastened flexible section of the receiving container closes the passage opening 301. The docking element 3 with the closed opening can be used, for example, to close the transfer chamber 15.

If the docking unit 3 is to be used to close the transfer chamber 15, instead of a receiving device 80, a closing plate or a flexible closing film that closes the passage opening 301 can be attached.

The in the figures 2a and 2 B The illustrated examples of the docking unit 3 have two sealing elements 4 which are O-rings fitted along the outside 32 of the docking unit 3 . This arrangement is a preferred embodiment of the system. However, it is also possible that one or more sealing elements 4 are attached to the opening wall 12 of the through hole, provided that the arrangement of the one or more sealing elements 4 is adapted to maintain a hermetic connection during the replacement of the docking units detailed below.

Die Verwendung eines Andocksystems ist optional. figure 3 illustrates the steps of the transfer procedure using a docking system 2. The use of a docking system is optional.

As used herein, the term "transfer of materials" or "material transfer" means a transfer, filling, filling, discharging and/or sampling of materials. Materials can be, for example, solids, pourable goods, powders, granular substances, filling goods, suspensions or liquids.

The starting position at the beginning of the transfer procedure is in Figure 3a shown. The docking unit 3 with the attached receiving device 80 , which is only partially shown here and in the following figures, is placed on the lifting platform 21 . The lifting platform is then moved along the guide rails 22 in the direction of the transfer chamber and introduced into the outlet opening 102 of the transfer chamber 15 . The docking unit 3 hermetically docks to the opening wall 12 of the outlet opening 102 . In the case presented, the hermetic barrier is created by means of the two sealing elements 4, here O-rings. In the Figure 3b Position shown corresponds to the first position of the claimed method.

The transfer system is now ready to transfer the material. In Figure 3c the transfer of a powdery material is illustrated. The powder 66 is fed into the transfer chamber 15 via the inlet opening 101 and falls through the transfer chamber interior 10 and through the appropriately aligned port 301 into the receiving apparatus 80. The powder may be poured into the transfer chamber 15 from a hermetically sealed dispensing container. The dispensing container can have a docking unit 3 , for example, and can be docked to the inlet opening 101 by means of this docking unit 3 . However, the powder can also be poured into the inlet opening 101 from an open dispensing device. A funnel can facilitate filling into the inlet opening 101, for example.

Since, in the illustrated embodiment, the powdery material falls through the transfer chamber 15 without any additional delimitation from the interior 10, material-related contamination is most likely to occur in the interior 10. Atmospheric contamination 666 is in Figures 3c up to and including 5a shown as points in the interior 10. However, material residues can also contaminate the wall of the transfer chamber. In order to reduce said contamination or even to avoid it altogether, the material can, for example, be fed through a guide tube 55, which forms a guide channel 551 ( figure 7 ) from the inlet opening 10 into the through-opening 301.

To remove existing contamination, an in Figure 5b illustrated preferred embodiment, a cleaning system, which is equipped for example with spray or compressed air nozzles 65, be set up in the transfer chamber 15.

In order to facilitate the outflow of cleaning liquids into a drain opening, the bottom of the transfer chamber 15 can be bevelled in the direction of the drain opening, so that the liquid is guided into the opening in a funnel-like manner. The drain opening can open into a disposal container 79, for example. On the other hand, the drain opening can also open into the cleaning tank 7 . However, the drain opening can also be a direct connection to the environment.

After transferring the powder, the receiving device 80 is uncoupled from the docking unit 3 that has been inserted. the inside 3d figures and 3e The decoupling mechanism shown is based on the attachment of a clamp closure 9 to a flexible section of the receiving device, which is located between the docking unit 3 and the filled section of the receiving device 80 . How out Figure 3e As can be seen, said flexible section can be severed at the clamping point. The clamping closure 9 is split into two parts at the clamping point, with part of the flexible section of the receiving device 80 still attached to the docking unit being clamped and thus closing the passage opening. The other part of the clamping closure 9.2 also closes the receiving device 80, which can now be removed from the transfer system. In order to facilitate the clamping and detaching process, the lifting platform 21 should return to the original position.

However, other types of closures are also possible in order to decouple the receiving device 80 from the docking unit 3 . In a preferred exemplary embodiment, this decoupling is effected by separating welding, with a sealing weld seam remaining on the parts of the receiving device separated by the separating point. This closing weld causes the separated parts to remain closed. Other closure and separation methods, such as tying off with two cable ties and cutting between the two tied points, are also possible.

Im vorliegenden Fall wird die Barriere mittels der Dichtungselemente 4 der Andockeinheit 3 erstellt. figure 4 illustrates the individual steps of the replacement process of the docking unit 3 in the passage opening 301 while maintaining the hermetic barrier formed between the docking unit 3 and the outlet opening 102 . In the present case, the barrier is created using the sealing elements 4 of the docking unit 3 .

In Figure 4a there is a first docking unit 3 in the first position. A second docking unit 3.1 is on the lifting platform 21 for Dock ready inserted. By raising the lifting platform 21, the second docking unit 3.1 is now introduced into the outlet opening 102. Here, the second docking unit 3.1 docks onto the opening wall 12 by means of one of its sealing elements 4.1, while the first docking unit 3 is still hermetically connected to the opening wall via one of its sealing elements 4. Accordingly, both docking units 3, 3.1 are docked hermetically to the opening wall 12 of the outlet opening 102 at the same time. This position corresponds to the second position of the claimed method.

The third position of the claimed method is in Figure 4c shown. Here the second docking unit 3.1 is inserted deeper into the outlet opening 102, as a result of which the first docking unit 3 is pushed into the interior and released from the outlet opening 102. The first docking unit 3 now assumes the third position. The second docking unit 3.1 takes the first position. Throughout the in Figures 4a to 4c illustrated exchange process is maintained a hermetic connection between the opening wall and at least one docking unit 3, 3.1.

Preferably, the first docking unit 3 released into the interior space 10 is removed from the outlet opening to prevent this docking unit from interfering with the subsequent transfer of material. For this purpose, an automatic system can be provided which, for example, pushes the docking unit away from the outlet opening 102 . However, other mechanisms for removing the docking unit 3 are also conceivable. The transfer system is now ready for a new transfer process.

If a transfer of the same material, for example a powdery substance, is carried out in successive transfer processes, the material-related impurities in the interior 10 of the transfer chamber are not necessarily a problem. However, if different materials or substances are transferred in consecutive transfer processes, it may be that the transfer system has to be cleaned between the processes.

For this purpose it is advantageous if a cleaning container 7 can be connected to the outlet opening 102 . Preferably, the cleaning container 7 is hermetically attached to the outlet port 102, for example using a sealing member 74 to the outlet port 102.

An example of a cleaning process is in Figures 5a and 5b shown. In Figure 5a the cleaning container 7 is attached to the outlet opening 102 in the docking position. The closed docking unit 3 is still inserted in the outlet opening 102 and closes it. The docking unit can be moved into the interior 10 of the transfer chamber 15 by means of push rods 73, which in this example can be raised by means of the lifting platform 21 in the direction of the interior of the transfer chamber 15, whereby the outlet opening 102 is at least partially released. this is in Figure 5b watch.

Impurities and/or residual materials can now be removed through the outlet opening 102 . As in Figure 5b shown schematically, a cleaning system, for example a spray system or a compressed air cleaning system, can be integrated into the transfer chamber 15 . Impurities or residues can thus be washed out or blown out into the cleaning tank 7 . Depending on the design of the cleaning container, specific pieces of equipment that are in the chamber or, for example, docking units 3 that have already been used can be output into the cleaning container and removed from the system.

In Figures 6a and 6b two different exemplary embodiments of the docking system 2 are shown. In Figure 6a the lifting platform 21 is raised and lowered by means of a lever mechanism. In Figure 6b the translatory movement of the lift is controlled by a pneumatic system 27.

In figure 7 Another embodiment of a transfer system is shown with some additional elements. As mentioned earlier this is System equipped with a guide hose 55, which on the one hand directs the material flow and on the other hand serves as an additional barrier between the material and the interior. Due to this barrier function, contamination of the chamber is reduced on the one hand and the transferred material is additionally protected against possible contamination on the other.

The system shown here also has an air vent 99. On the one hand, this socket can be used to attach a clean air system, by means of which clean air is blown into the transfer chamber. On the other hand, the socket can also be used to attach an extraction system, which, for example, generates a negative pressure in the inner chamber.

The ventilation socket 99 can also be used, among other things, for the admission of nitrogen into the transfer chamber 15 . A “flush” of the transfer chamber with nitrogen gas prior to material transfer is recommended to purge air from the interior 10 of the chamber and replace it with an uncontaminated and germ-free nitrogen atmosphere. This procedure prevents contamination from the ambient air from remaining in the transfer chamber.

In this exemplary embodiment, unwanted materials, residues, contamination or items of equipment are removed by a disposal container which is attached to an additional opening of the transfer chamber 15 .

Weitere Ausführungsformen der Transferkammer 15 sind möglich. Beispielsweise kann die Transferkammer eine Glove-Box sein.Further embodiments of the transfer chamber 15 are possible. For example, the transfer chamber can be a glove box.
