Claims (12)

  1. A lock cylinder (11) comprising:
    - a cylinder housing;

  2. A lock cylinder in accordance with claim 1,
    wherein the receiver (27) is slot-shaped, in particular is formed as an incision of circular segment shape into the cylinder core (13), and extends along a plane perpendicular to the cylinder axis (Z).
  3. A lock cylinder in accordance with claim 1 or 2,
    wherein the coding element (15) is plate-shaped, in particular is formed as a plate of circular segment shape; and/or
    wherein the coding element (15), when it is inserted into the receiver (27), is at least substantially immovably captured in the receiver (27).
  4. A lock cylinder in accordance with at least one of the preceding claims, wherein the coding element (15) has a cut-out (29) having a contour, wherein the abutment section (31) corresponds to a section of the contour, and wherein the coding sections (33, 33') correspond to a respective other section of the contour, in particular are formed by a respective projection of the contour; and/or
    wherein the abutment section (31) and the coding sections (33, 33') are arranged spaced apart from one another.
  5. A key (17) for use with a lock cylinder (11) in accordance with at least one of the preceding claims,
    wherein the key (17) comprises a key shaft (35) which extends along a key introduction direction (S) and which has an elongate cross-section having two narrow sides (37) which are opposite one another transversely to the key introduction direction (S), and having two broad sides (39) which are opposite one another transversely to the key introduction direction (S), wherein the key shaft (35), at at least one of its broad sides (39), has a coding structure (40) which is configured to arrange the tumblers of the lock cylinder (11) in the releasing configuration when the key shaft (35) is introduced into the keyway (19) of the cylinder core (13) of the lock cylinder (11) up to a correct introduction depth,
    wherein the key shaft (35) has an abutment section (43) that is formed as an abutment surface (42) which is oriented perpendicular to the key introduction direction (S) and which is formed by a step (41) in one of the narrow sides (37) of the key shaft (35) in order, on an introduction of the key shaft (35) into the keyway (19), to abut the abutment section (31) of the coding element (15) of the lock cylinder (11) on the reaching of the correct introduction depth,
    wherein the key shaft (35) has a profiling (45), in particular in the form of at least one channel and/or groove, which is formed in one of the broad sides (39) of the key shaft (35) and which extends from a tip (47) of the key shaft (35) with respect to the key introduction direction (S) at least up to the step (41) such that, on an introduction of the key shaft (35) into the keyway (19), the section of the key shaft (35) having the profiling (45) can be led past the coding sections (33, 33') of the coding element (15) of the lock cylinder (11), wherein the profiling (45) extends substantially only up to the step (41), and wherein the key shaft (35) is rotationally symmetrical with respect to an axis of symmetry in parallel with the key introduction direction (S).
  6. A key blank (17') for manufacturing a key (17) in accordance with claim 5, wherein the key blank (17') comprises a key shaft (35) which extends along a key introduction direction (S) and which has an elongate cross-section having two narrow sides (37) which are opposite one another transversely to the key introduction direction (S), and having two broad sides (39) which are opposite one another transversely to the key introduction direction (S), wherein the key shaft (35) has an abutment section (43) that is formed as an abutment surface (42) which is oriented perpendicular to the key introduction direction (S) and which is formed by a step (41) in one of the narrow sides (37) of the key shaft (35) in order, on an introduction of the key shaft (35) into the keyway (19), to abut the abutment section (31) of the coding element (15) of the lock cylinder (11) on the reaching of the correct introduction depth, and
    wherein the key shaft (35) has a profiling (45), in particular in the form of at least one channel and/or groove, which is formed in one of the broad sides (39) of the key shaft (35) and which extends from a tip (47) of the key shaft (35) with respect to the key introduction direction (S) at least up to the step (41) such that, on an introduction of the key shaft (35) into the keyway (19), the section of the key shaft (35) having the profiling (45) can be led past the coding sections (33, 33') of the coding element (15) of the lock cylinder (11), wherein the profiling (45) extends substantially only up to the step (41), and wherein the key shaft (35) is rotationally symmetrical with respect to an axis of symmetry in parallel with the key introduction direction (S).
  7. A locking device (21) comprising a lock cylinder (11) in accordance with any one of the preceding claims and at least one key (17) associated with the lock cylinder (11) in accordance with claim 5.
  8. A locking device in accordance with claim 7,
    wherein said profiling (45) of the key shaft (35) comprises a channel or groove which is complementary to a respective one of the coding sections (33, 33') of the coding element (15) and which is formed in one of the broad sides (39) of the key shaft (35).
  9. A locking device in accordance with claim 7 or claim 8,
    wherein the key shaft (35) has a plurality of abutment sections (43) which are configured, on an introduction of the key shaft (35) into the keyway (19) of the cylinder core (13), to abut a section, in particular the abutment section (31) or the coding sections (33, 33'), of the coding element (15) on the reaching of the correct introduction depth.
  10. A locking device in accordance with claim 9,
    wherein one of the abutment sections (43) of the key shaft (35) is formed as an abutment surface (42) which is oriented perpendicular to the key introduction direction (S) and which is formed by a step (41) in one of the narrow sides (37) of the key shaft (35), and/or
    wherein one of the abutment sections (43) of the key shaft (35) is formed as an end face (49) which is oriented perpendicular to the key introduction direction (S) and up to which said profiling (45) extends from a tip (47) of the key shaft (35).
  11. A locking device in accordance with any one of the claims 8 to 10,
    wherein the only abutments of the locking device (21) active at the cylinder side for limiting the introduction of the key shaft (35) of the associated key (17) into the keyway (19) of the cylinder core (13) to the correct introduction depth are formed at the coding element (15), in particular are formed by the abutment section (31) and possibly by one or more further abutment sections and/or by the coding sections (33, 33') and possibly by one or more further coding sections of the coding element (15).
  12. A locking system comprising a locking device in accordance with at least one of the claims 7 to 11,
    wherein the locking device (21) comprises a plurality of different coding elements (15, 15') of said type that differ with respect to their coding sections (33, 33'); and a plurality of different associated keys (17) that differ with respect to the profilings (45) of their key shafts (35), wherein, for each coding element (15, 15'), at least one associated key (17) is provided which corresponds to the coding element (15, 15') in that a profiling (45) corresponding to the coding sections (33, 33') of this coding element (15) is formed at the key shaft (35) of said key (17) such that one of the coding elements (15, 15') can selectively be inserted into the receiver (27) of the cylinder core (13) in order thereby to limit the introduction ability of the keys (17) into the cylinder core (13) to the associated key (17) corresponding to this coding element (15).
