Definitions
- the invention relates to a shoe equipped with a shoelace.
- a shoe equipped with laces has two rows of laces running at a distance from one another approximately parallel to the crest line of the instep, i.e. through holes, through the flat upper material in that part of the flat upper material which is intended to cover the instep of a foot.
- a shoelace string or ribbon
- a shoelace is threaded through the individual eyelets, forming a zigzag line along which an eyelet in one row and an eyelet in the other row follow each other alternately.
- One of the two free end pieces of the shoelace (usually) protrudes from the upper eyelet of the two rows.
- To tighten the shoe around a foot the two ends of the lace are pulled, moving the two rows of lace holes towards each other.
- the two ends of the tightened shoelace are releasably fixed - usually to each other - so that the shoelace remains taut.
- the ends of the shoelace are loosened so that the tension on the shoelace can be relieved; the two rows of eyelets are moved apart, thereby pulling the ends of the lace toward the next hole in the row of eyelets.
- the scriptures CH 264894 A , DE 446586C , DE 1625874 U and US 3526977A each show a shoelace which is provided at one end with a closing part which has a greatly enlarged diameter compared to the shoelace and typically has the shape of a flat circular disc.
- a shoelace is intended to be threaded with the thin end first into the bottom hole of a row of holes and then pulled in a zigzag through the holes in both rows of holes until it rests with the closing part on the bottom hole on the inside of the flat material of the shoe.
- the thin, free end of the shoelace is pulled so that the shoelace is tightened.
- a holding element which is fixed to the shoe and on which the free end area of the shoelace can be clamped serves to hold the tension of the shoelace.
- the purpose of this lacing is to make it easier for people who only have one hand to tighten and fix the shoelace.
- the writings US797743A , US756690A and WO 2016020898 A1 show shoes in which one or two through-holes in the flat upper material are each bordered by a holding element.
- the holding element has elements to which the end region of the shoelace, which is threaded through the enclosed through-hole, can be detachably fixed.
- the holding elements replace the otherwise usual knotting of the two ends of a shoelace.
- U1 is proposed to clamp a clamping part as a blocking element on that section of a shoelace which lies between the two bottom eyelets of the two rows of shoelaces, which has the shape of a longitudinally slotted circular cylinder jacket and clamps so tightly on the shoelace that it can no longer slip on it .
- the blocking element is too bulky to be able to slide through lace holes, which means that the entire lace is secured against slipping too far.
- the main disadvantage is the appearance of the blocking element; it can severely spoil the elegant appearance of a shoe.
- U.S. 2017/112237 A1 discloses a shoe corresponding to the preamble of the independent claim.
- the object on which the invention is based is to design a shoe which has two rows of eyelets and a shoelace threaded into them in such a way that the shoelace is tied at a point remote from its two ends, preferably in the central area of its longitudinal extension, so is firmly connected to the upper material of the shoe, so that there is no displacement between the upper material and the shoelace at the connection point during the period of use of the shoelace - i.e. not only when the shoe is worn or not worn, but also during the lacing .
- the means used to connect the shoelace and upper material should be able to be positioned exactly on the shoe and optionally also be executable in an optically inconspicuous manner.
- the prior art adopts the feature that a through-hole in the upper material of the shoe is bordered with an element which is permanently immovably fixed relative to the upper, and that a shoelace extends through the through-hole in the upper and thus also through the enclosing element.
- the enclosing element is located at the bottom eyelet of a row of those two rows of holes on the upper of the shoe which, when the shoe is on, run along an ascending line, typically along the instep of the foot.
- the permanent connection between the encircling member and the lace is located in the mid-length portion of the lace, typically 48% to 52% of the total length of the lace from an end of the lace.
- the enclosing element has three ring bodies which are rigidly connected to one another and are arranged one behind the other in the axial direction and have different outer diameters, the ring body with the smallest outer diameter lying between the two other ring bodies which have larger outer diameters.
- the enclosing element can be easily dimensioned so that its middle ring body passes through a lace hole, and that the diameter of the two outer ring bodies is larger than the diameter of the lace hole with relaxed upper material, whereby the enclosing element on the upper material held against displacement normal to the plane of the upper sheet in both directions.
- a ring body in this sense is a body which has a central through-hole, the outer surface of which is largely surrounded.
- the outer circumference of the annular body does not necessarily have to be circular for this.
- the encircling of the lateral surface of the through hole does not necessarily have to be self-contained either.
- connection between the shoelace and the enclosing element is formed by the enclosing element being designed as a plastic injection molded part, which is produced by overmolding around the shoelace (which runs through the mold cavity of the plastic injection molding machine for this purpose).
- connection between the shoelace and the enclosing element is stronger than the connection between the enclosing element and the upper of the shoe.
- FIG. 1 shows a shoelace 1, an enclosing element 2 and the upper material 3 of a shoe equipped according to the invention in the intended assembled state.
- the enclosing element 2 is fixed to a lace hole 4 in the upper 3 and the lace 1 extends through a through hole 5 in the enclosing element 2 .
- the enclosing element 2--as described above-- is formed from three ring bodies lying one behind the other, all of which surround the "common" through hole 5.
- the central annular body 6 of the enclosing element 2 extends through the eyelet 4 . It has a smaller diameter than the two ring bodies adjoining it at its end faces, namely the outer ring body 7 lying on the outside of the upper material 3 and the inner ring body 8 lying on the inside of the upper material 3.
- the diameter of the outer annular body 7 is ideally dimensioned such that it is pressed through the eyelet 4 with its side facing away from the central annular body 6, making great use of the elastic deformability of itself and the upper material 3 or any existing edging of the eyelet 4 or can be pulled through the eyelet 4 by means of the shoelace attached to the enclosing element 2 . As tests with prototypes have shown, good dimensioning can be easily determined through tests.
- the diameter of the inner ring body 8 can be even larger than that of the outer ring body 7 because it never needs to be moved through a lace hole 4.
- the assembly of the shoelace 1 and the enclosing element 2 is formed in that the enclosing element is formed by overmoulding the shoelace 1 with plastic and is thus already connected to the shoelace 1 when it is formed.
- FIG. 2 shows a bordering element 9, which differs from that of 1 differs in that it has a longitudinal slot 10 open to both end faces of the enclosing element 9, through which the annular bodies 6, 7, 8 are interrupted in such a way that they form open rings, and thus also the lateral surface of the through hole 5 at a narrow peripheral area is broken to the outside.
- the longitudinal slot 10 brings with it the advantages that the enclosing element 9, if it is not yet arranged on the upper material of the shoe, can simply be pushed radially onto the shoelace 1 for the purpose of anchoring it and that the enclosing element 9 is elastic in a further area is deformable, so that the anchoring process at a lacing hole 4 in the upper 3 can be accomplished more easily.
- 3 shows an example of a particularly advantageous construction of a shoe according to the invention.
- the upper 3 consists of two layers, namely an inner layer 11 (which is usually a textile) and an outer layer 12 (which is usually leather or imitation leather). Of the eyelets 4, only the longitudinal area of the inner layer 11 is bordered by an eyelet 13. (Of course there are also leather shoes where the eyelet is visible on the surface of the outer layer.)
- the enclosing element 9 is pushed through the eyelet 13 on the eyelet 4 from the inside of the upper material 3, and it is so short that the outer annular body 7 just projects over the eyelet 13, but does not project from the outer layer 12 .
- the enclosing element 9 is therefore extremely inconspicuous and only recognizable when viewed from a very short distance. Visibility can be further reduced if the color of the enclosing element 9 is the same or similar to that of the outer layer 12 or those eyelets 13 which are located on eyelets where no enclosing element 9 is attached.
- the enclosing element 14 which can be mounted particularly well by being pushed into a lace hole on the upper material of a shoe.
- the enclosing element 14 is in turn made up of three ring bodies 15, 16, 17, the middle ring body 16 having the smallest diameter.
- annular bodies 16, 17 which have to be pushed into an eyelet for the assembly of the enclosing element 14, the outer surface is broken through by one or more longitudinal slots 18, with the result that the remaining material of these annular bodies 16, 17 forms spring tongues that are good for this purpose are suitable for being pushed into a eyelet and getting caught to prevent it from being pulled out - even if the eyelet is passed through an eyelet ( 3 ) is bordered.
- the annular body 17, which is at the front when it is inserted into an eyelet is beveled in the manner of an arrowhead in the manner of a truncated cone, which makes the process of insertion even easier.
- the widest annular body 15 is not slotted at all; it also does not need to be pushed through a eyelet.
- a through hole 19 in turn runs through all ring bodies 15, 16, 17 of the enclosing element 14.
- the enclosing element 14 according to 4 is already formed by overmoulding a shoelace with plastic and connected to the shoelace.
- the widest ring body 15 which cannot be pushed through a lacing hole, can also be used as a decorative element or identification element on a shoe.
- the enclosing element 14 is to be inserted into a lace hole in the upper material of a shoe from the outside inwards with the ring body 17 pointed like an arrow pointing in front.
- the widest ring body 15 then remains clearly visible in the field of vision on the outer surface of the upper material.
- the wide ring body 15 is equipped with decorative elements or an identification element, such as a company logo
- the lateral projections 20 are shown as an example.
- Different dimensions of enclosing elements can also be marked with structures such as projections 20, but also by means of embossing etc., so that the differentiation and recognition of enclosing elements with different dimensions becomes very simple.
- an enclosing element this is equipped with an electronic identification circuit, for example an RFID chip.
- This identification circuitry may be molded through the plastics material forming the essential part of the skirting element, or it may be glued onto a surface area of the skirting element.
- This option should be considered, for example, for particularly high-quality safety shoes, which companies issue to employees and whose use is to be monitored and/or enforced when staying in certain hazardous areas.

Description
The invention relates to a shoe equipped with a shoelace.
Usually, a shoe equipped with laces has two rows of laces running at a distance from one another approximately parallel to the crest line of the instep, i.e. through holes, through the flat upper material in that part of the flat upper material which is intended to cover the instep of a foot. A shoelace (string or ribbon) is threaded through the individual eyelets, forming a zigzag line along which an eyelet in one row and an eyelet in the other row follow each other alternately. One of the two free end pieces of the shoelace (usually) protrudes from the upper eyelet of the two rows. To tighten the shoe around a foot, the two ends of the lace are pulled, moving the two rows of lace holes towards each other. For wearing a shoe, the two ends of the tightened shoelace are releasably fixed - usually to each other - so that the shoelace remains taut. To take off the shoe, the ends of the shoelace are loosened so that the tension on the shoelace can be relieved; the two rows of eyelets are moved apart, thereby pulling the ends of the lace toward the next hole in the row of eyelets.

The problem with many lace-up shoes, especially those with very short rows of eyelets, is that over time the laces shift relative to the eyelets in such a way that one end of a shoelace protrudes too long from the upper eyelet and the other end too short so that the two ends can no longer be tied into a nice knot.
The object on which the invention is based is to design a shoe which has two rows of eyelets and a shoelace threaded into them in such a way that the shoelace is tied at a point remote from its two ends, preferably in the central area of its longitudinal extension, so is firmly connected to the upper material of the shoe, so that there is no displacement between the upper material and the shoelace at the connection point during the period of use of the shoelace - i.e. not only when the shoe is worn or not worn, but also during the lacing . The means used to connect the shoelace and upper material should be able to be positioned exactly on the shoe and optionally also be executable in an optically inconspicuous manner.
To solve the problem, the prior art adopts the feature that a through-hole in the upper material of the shoe is bordered with an element which is permanently immovably fixed relative to the upper, and that a shoelace extends through the through-hole in the upper and thus also through the enclosing element.
Die Erfindung ist im beigefügten Anspruchssatz beschrieben. The invention is described in the appended set of claims.
By fixing the enclosing element on the eyelet, its position relative to the upper material is very precisely defined, which makes it possible to design the enclosing element as an element that optically matches the shoe.
Typically - and preferably - the enclosing element is located at the bottom eyelet of a row of those two rows of holes on the upper of the shoe which, when the shoe is on, run along an ascending line, typically along the instep of the foot.
Typically - and preferably - the permanent connection between the encircling member and the lace is located in the mid-length portion of the lace, typically 48% to 52% of the total length of the lace from an end of the lace.
In a particularly preferred embodiment, the enclosing element has three ring bodies which are rigidly connected to one another and are arranged one behind the other in the axial direction and have different outer diameters, the ring body with the smallest outer diameter lying between the two other ring bodies which have larger outer diameters. Thus, the enclosing element can be easily dimensioned so that its middle ring body passes through a lace hole, and that the diameter of the two outer ring bodies is larger than the diameter of the lace hole with relaxed upper material, whereby the enclosing element on the upper material held against displacement normal to the plane of the upper sheet in both directions.
A ring body in this sense is a body which has a central through-hole, the outer surface of which is largely surrounded. The outer circumference of the annular body does not necessarily have to be circular for this. The encircling of the lateral surface of the through hole does not necessarily have to be self-contained either.
The connection between the shoelace and the enclosing element is formed by the enclosing element being designed as a plastic injection molded part, which is produced by overmolding around the shoelace (which runs through the mold cavity of the plastic injection molding machine for this purpose).
In the optimal case, the connection between the shoelace and the enclosing element is stronger than the connection between the enclosing element and the upper of the shoe. This makes it possible to mount a shoelace equipped with an enclosing element on a shoe by threading the shoelace through that eyelet on the shoe to which the enclosing element is to be attached until the enclosing element rests against the eyelet. Then the shoelace is pulled further with a short, strong tug so that the enclosing element is pulled into the eyelet and remains firmly fixed there. To change the shoelace together with the enclosing element fixed to it, the shoelace can be briefly and vigorously pulled in the opposite direction to the original threading direction, so that the enclosing element is pulled out of the snap-in position in the eyelet.

Above all, the

According to a special advantageous embodiment of an enclosing element, this is equipped with an electronic identification circuit, for example an RFID chip. This identification circuitry may be molded through the plastics material forming the essential part of the skirting element, or it may be glued onto a surface area of the skirting element.
This option should be considered, for example, for particularly high-quality safety shoes, which companies issue to employees and whose use is to be monitored and/or enforced when staying in certain hazardous areas.
Claims (11)
- Shoe, which has two rows of eyelets (4) and laces (1) threaded into the eyelets (4) in its flat upper (3), as well as an enclosing element (2, 9, 14), which is attached to one of the eyelets (4) in the upper (3), which is secured so that it does not move from the eyelet (4) and has a through hole (5) which the laces (1) extend through, creating a permanent rigid connection (i.e., one which cannot be detached without destroying it) between the enclosing element (2, 9, 14) and the longitudinal portion of the lace (1) running through it, characterised by the fact that the surrounding element (2) is formed by overmoulding the lace (1) with plastic.
- Shoe according to claim 1, characterised by the fact that the enclosing element (2, 9, 14) on the lowest eyelet (4) of one row out of those two rows of eyelets is arranged on the upper, which run along the ascending line when the shoe is laced up.
- Shoe according to claim 1 or 2, characterised by the fact that the permanent connection between the enclosing element (2,9,14) and the lace (1) is located in the middle longitudinal portion of the lace (1).
- Shoe as claimed in one of claims 1 to 3, characterised by the fact that the enclosing element (2, 9, 14) has three annular bodies (6, 7, 8; 15, 16, 17), rigidly connected to each other, with differing outer diameters, which are lined up, one behind the other, in an axial direction, whereby the annular bodies (6, 16) with the smallest outer diameter are located between the other two annular bodies (7, 8; 15, 17), both of which have larger outer diameters than the middle annular body (6, 16).
- Shoe according to claim 4, characterised by the fact that the outer diameters of both the annular bodies (7, 8; 15, 17) with larger outer diameters are of different sizes.
- Shoe according to claim 4 or 5, characterised by the fact that the enclosing element (9) has a longitudinal slit (10) that opens towards both front sides of the enclosing element (9) and which extends in a radial direction from the outer cover of the annular bodies (6, 7, 8) to the central through hole (5) that runs through all the annular bodies (6, 7, 8).
- Shoe according to claim 5 or 6, characterised by the fact that two adjacent annular bodies (16, 17) are split into individual spring tongues by one or more longitudinal splits (18).
- Shoe as claimed in one of claims 1 to 7, characterised by the fact that the upper (3) has an inner layer (11) and an outer layer (12) and that the enclosing element (9) on one of the eyelets (4) protrudes over both sides of the inner layer, in the normal direction, to the layer plane (11), but not over the outer layer (12).
- Shoe according to claim 8, characterised by the fact that the cover of the eyelet (4) in the region of the inner layer (11), but not in the region of the outer layer (12), is enclosed by a loop (13) and that the enclosing element (9) extends through the loop (13).
- Shoe as claimed in one of claims 1 to 7, characterised by the fact that the enclosing element (14) protrudes over the outside of the upper (3) and the protruding portion has a decorative element or label element.
- Shoe as claimed in one of claims 1 to 10, characterised by the fact that the enclosing element (2 9, 14) is equipped with an electronic identification circuit.
