Abstract

The invention relates to a new bath that folds down onto a shower tray, which reduces the space used for bodily hygiene by means of the installation of a bath on a new or existing shower tray. The new bath allows the user to have, in the same space, a shower tray and a bath that is accessible for people who have needs relating to limited movement in old age. The invention increases bath safety and versatility, with options that converge in a single room and providing facilities for cleaning. The bath includes lowering systems for moving the bath assembly, and faucets, bathing equipment, hydromassage and other elements.

Description

    Technical field
  • The present invention, a new bath that folds down onto a shower tray, aims to reduce the space of use of two bodily hygiene uses such as the separate bath and shower into a single space.
  • Background of the invention
  • Currently, developments for mounting bath systems onto other existing baths in the bathrooms of homes or premises are known.
  • Normally they are replaced when the initially installed baths show deterioration therein and to carry out a construction work of a lesser magnitude that bath is used to place the new bath on top thereof. That is the case of the utility model U9500729 of the applicant Carlos Mallor Castillo and Maria Pilar Cisneros Rivera, which simply proposes the mounting and installation of a bath over another bath that is already installed.
  • The introduction of a bath that folds down onto a shower tray offers functional advantages in bathrooms wherein there is only one shower, being able with this novelty to insert a bath without occupying more space than that used for the shower.
  • The applicant is not aware, therefore, of other baths that fold down onto a shower tray such as the one advocated, which introduces advantages that are functional and aimed at reducing and sharing the space available in the bathroom, to obtain a space wherein a shower and a bath converge.
  • Object of the invention
  • The object of the invention is a new concept consisting of installing a bath onto a shower tray, by means of which space is saved and versatility is obtained, achieving a shower and a bath in a minimum space. This is made possible with a lowering system wherein the bath is placed vertically at one end of the installation in the shower.
  • The aim is to develop and provide the market with a new bath that folds down onto a shower tray, which, in addition to meeting the aesthetic and comfort requirements thereof, offers the user an adequate space to have a shower tray and a bath at the same time, improving the user's options and feeling of comfort. It is known that most of the mounting systems wherein one bath is replaced or incorporated onto another, are limited to having only the bath, while with the new concept of installing a bath that folds down onto the shower tray, the end user's possibilities and comfort are increased, solving the space problems that exist in most homes, thus providing the bathrooms with several options that converge in the same room. This advantage is also an important consideration as it provides facilities for bathroom cleaning.
  • The safety offered by the baths regularly used for elderly people is scarce, due to the difficult access of the elderly together with the loss of mobility and elasticity, wherein they could lose their balance inside and during the access to these baths, consequently, only showers are currently installed for this purpose. With this system, safety and versatility of use are increased, with the combination of the shower tray intended among other uses for the elderly and the bath for use by children, or a relaxed bathing.
  • Description of the invention
  • The present invention advocates a new bath that folds down that can be installed onto an existing shower tray, giving the bath utility to the space that has already been modified for use as a shower only. This is possible due to the fact that it has a folding system by means of a hinge with a reinforced system with a telescopic gas shock absorber or a 24 Volt electric motor, among other systems. Since it can also be done using any other mechanical, electrical, compressed air, hydraulic or other folding or shock absorbing systems to move the bath assembly. At the same time, it fulfils the usual aesthetic function of a shower and a bath and the user's comfort requirements.
  • This system comprises.
    • A shower to be installed, or already installed, with a conventional aesthetic finish or to be defined by the user.
    • A bath with a hinge to couple to a folding system.
    • A folding system.
    • A complementary area for other uses.
  • Versions have been envisaged wherein there are different types of mechanical, electrical, compressed air, hydraulic or other folding or shock absorbing systems to attach it to the bath by means of the hinge.
  • Description of the drawings
  • For a better understanding of what is described in the present specification, drawings are attached in which, by way of example, a list of the figures of the proposed invention is represented.
    • Figure 1 shows a representation of the new bath that folds down onto a horizontal shower tray for bathroom use, wherein:
      1. 1- Shower tray.
      2. 2- Bath.
      3. 3- Hinge.
      4. 4- Folding system.
    • Figure 2 shows a representation of the new bath that folds down onto a shower tray in a vertical retracted position for shower use, wherein:
      1. 1- Shower tray.
      2. 2- Bath.
      3. 3- Hinge.
      4. 4- Folding system.
      5. 5- Area to place bathing equipment and systems.
    Description of a preferred embodiment
  • A preferred embodiment is cited by way of example, the materials used in its manufacture, as well as the application methods and all the accessory details that may be presented being independent of the object of the invention, as long as they do not affect their essentiality.
  • A preferred embodiment of an installation is proposed wherein it is applied to a shower tray (1) of such dimensions that a bath (2) can be installed, this bath that folds down (2) is placed with practically very little installation since the drain used is that of the shower tray (1) and the bath (2) is filled through the existing installation.
  • The new bath that folds down onto a shower tray the construction of which comprises:
    • A shower tray (1).
    • A bath (2).
    • A hinge for attaching with the bath (3).
    • A folding system (4).
    • Area for other uses (5).
  • The bath (2) is attached by means of a hinge (3) to the folding system (4) that will be fixed to the bathroom wall or to the shower tray (1) of the room wherein it is placed by using materials used in construction for these purposes.
  • The folding system (4) will be actuated by means of a control console intended for this purpose and adapted to the various folding systems that have been discussed above.
  • Versions have been envisaged wherein the folding systems (4) are of a different nature as long as they meet the function of folding down the bath (2) by means of the hinge (3) thereof.
  • Versions have been envisaged wherein once the bath (2) has folded down into a vertical position, an area will be established for the placement of other uses (5) wherein different shower systems such as faucets, bathing equipment, hydromassage, among others, can be coupled in this place.
