Description

The invention relates to a tray-shaped carrier made of cardboard, paperboard or another foldable flat material:
The dish-shaped carrier (“tray”) has a bottom wall, side walls that protrude from the lateral edges of the bottom wall, and a separating web that extends between two opposite side walls. The side walls and the bottom wall form a shell which is divided into compartments by the divider into which the goods can be inserted. The carrier is particularly suitable for holding chunky or viscous goods of all kinds, such as chocolate bars, biscuits or other confectionery, vegetables, herbs or fruit, French fries and mayonnaise or ketchup, screws, nuts, dowels or other fasteners, pencils, chalk or others stationery.

The EP 3 095 722 B1 describes packaging for foodstuffs, in particular for snacks, made of cardboard in the form of a tray with a base, two side walls, a front wall and a rear wall and a partition part which is connected to the side walls at the side edges via connecting strips which comprise a number of folding parts and connected at the lower edge to an inner cover of the floor on one side of the partition part. The base inner cover is connected by a fold line to a front wall inner cover, which in turn is connected by a fold line to the top edge of the front wall. The package can be fully pre-glued at the carton maker and the gussets allow the divider panel to fold flat against the top of the bottom panel. The side walls and the front walls slope slightly outwards. In this state, the packages can nested and thus can be stored and transported in a space-saving manner. For filling, the packaging is removed from the stack and the partition part is opened. After that, the different compartments can be filled separately. The disadvantage is that the packaging is not well suited for automatic pre-packaging before nesting and automatic erecting before filling, and the design limits the speed of automatic processing. Another disadvantage is that the construction has gluing, which impairs the recycling of the cardboard.

DE 13 00 059 B describes a folding box base with a double-walled partition.

The object of the invention is to create a tray-shaped carrier made of foldable flat material with a separating web, which is better suited for automatic production and processing. Preferably, the reusability of the carrier should also be improved.

The object is achieved by a shell-shaped carrier having the features of claim 1. Advantageous embodiments of the carrier are specified in the dependent claims.

The tray-shaped carrier according to the invention made of cardboard, cardboard or another foldable flat material comprises
  • a floor wall,
  • side walls which are connected to the side edges of the bottom wall by first fold lines at their lower edges and which stand up from the bottom wall,
  • first connecting strips which are each connected via a second fold line at their top edge to the top edge of a side wall and which abut the insides of the side walls connected thereto, wherein side walls, which are connected at the upper edges with first connection strips, face each other,
  • second connecting strips, each of which is connected to the lower edge of a first connecting strip by a third fold line at a first lateral edge and which abuts the top of the bottom wall, and
  • Separating webs, which are each connected via a fourth fold line to a second lateral edge of a second connecting strip, the central webs standing up from the second connecting strip and abutting one another, wherein
the first lateral edges are perpendicular to the second lateral edges of the second connection strips.

The carrier according to the invention can be formed from a single blank of foldable sheet material. It can be pre-assembled by the folding box manufacturer by raising the side walls so that a first connecting strip, the second connecting strip connected thereto and the separating web connected thereto stand up from two side walls lying opposite one another, each continuing the same. In this condition, the carrier can be stabilized by connections between the side walls, for example by hooking or gluing corner connection flaps to the side edges of adjacent side walls. In an embodiment with slightly outwardly sloping side walls, a large number of pre-assembled carriers can be stored and transported nested. At the manufacturer or packer of the product to be inserted into the carrier, the first connecting strips are each folded around the second fold line against the side wall connected to it, in the opposite direction the second connecting strips are each folded around the third fold line against the upper side of the base wall, the separating webs are each folded around the fourth fold line in perpendicular orientation to the associated connecting strip folded and the dividers are brought into contact with each other. Consequently the dividers bear against each other and are fixed in position separating two compartments in the shell. The prefabrication and the complete erection of the carrier can be done by simple folding, which can be carried out at high speed by automatic machines. It is advantageous here that when the prefabricated carrier is completely erected, adhesive bonding can be dispensed with, since the separating webs and the first and second connecting strips connected thereto are held in the completely erected position by supporting one another.

The separating webs are preferably folded around the fourth fold lines and the second connecting strips are folded around the third fold lines, and at the same time or afterwards the first connecting strips are folded around the second fold lines. As a result, the first connecting strips come into contact with the insides of the side walls, the second connecting strips come into contact with the upper side of the bottom wall and the separating webs come into contact with one another.

According to the invention, the first lateral edges of the second connection strips are perpendicular to the second lateral edges of the second connection strips. The fourth fold lines and the third fold lines are thus aligned perpendicularly to one another, so that the folds of the separating webs and the folds of the connecting strips take place in directions perpendicular to one another.

In another embodiment which does not fall under the scope of the appended claims, the first lateral edges and the second lateral edges of the second connection strips are parallel to one another. In this embodiment, the fourth and the third fold lines are arranged parallel to one another, so that the folds of the dividing webs and the second connecting strips take place about axes that are parallel to one another.

According to a further embodiment, the side panels are inclined outwardly with respect to the bottom panel so that the carriers are nestable in a pre-assembled arrangement in which the first and second connecting strips are each oriented in the same plane as the side panels connected thereto by the second fold lines. According to a further embodiment, the side walls have a trapezoidal contour for this purpose, which widens towards the top.

According to a further embodiment, the second connecting strips have outwardly projecting lugs within interruptions in the fourth fold lines, which are separated by punched lines from the separating webs which extend between the ends of the fourth fold lines adjacent to the lugs. When the separating webs are folded about the fourth fold lines until they are aligned perpendicularly to the connecting strips, openings with contours corresponding to the lugs open between the lugs and the separating webs. One lug covers the other lug, engages in the opening released by this and is supported on the edge of the opening in the separating web released by the other lug.

According to a further embodiment, some of the side panels are connected at the lateral edges by fifth fold lines to corner connecting flaps which bear against the respective adjacent side panels. The shell formed from the bottom wall and the side walls can be stabilized by means of the corner connecting straps. According to another embodiment, the corner connecting flaps are trapezoidal. This favors low-loss production.

According to a further embodiment, the corner connecting flaps are glued to the adjacent side walls and/or clamped, hooked or otherwise fixed between the adjacent side walls and the first connecting strip. This stabilizes the carrier in the shell shape. This stabilization can take place with and/or without gluing.

According to another embodiment, the first connecting strips are connected at the outer ends of the lower edges by sixth fold lines to lateral retention tabs fixed between the second connecting strips and the bottom wall.

According to another embodiment, the side walls bordering the lateral edges of the dividers are not directly connected to the dividers. This reduces the cost of materials and makes it easier to erect the wearer.

According to another embodiment, the support has a cover on the side opposite the bottom wall. Products inserted into the carrier can be protected by the cover. According to a further embodiment, the cover is a hood-like attached lid or hinged to an upper edge of a side wall via a sixth fold line, a sleeve or a slipcase into which the carrier is inserted, or a folding box into which the carrier is used.

In the present application, the terms "top" and "bottom" refer to a fully erected tray-shaped carrier, which is placed on a horizontal base with the underside of the bottom wall, so that the side walls extend upwardly away from the base.

The carrier is made from a blank of foldable sheet material. According to one embodiment, the support is made from a single blank.

According to 1 the blank 1.1 has a rectangular bottom wall 2 and four side walls 3.1 to 3.4. The side walls 3.1 to 3.4 are connected to the side edges of the base wall 2 at their lower edges via first fold lines 4.1 to 4.4. The side walls 3.1 to 3.4 are each trapezoidal, with their width increasing as the distance from the first fold line 4.1 to 4.4 increases.

Furthermore, the blank 1.1 comprises first connecting strips 5.1, 5.2, each of which is connected at its upper edges to the upper edges of a side wall 3.1, 3.3 via a second folding line 6.1, 6.2. The upper edges are the wider edges of the side walls 3.1, 3.3. The first connecting strips 5.1, 5.2 are trapezoidal in shape corresponding to the side walls 3.1, 3.3, so that they can be folded around the second fold lines 6.1, 6.2 across the board against the side walls 3.1, 3.3.

The blank 1.1 also includes second connecting strips 7.1, 7.2, which are each connected to the lower edge of one of the first connecting strips 5.1, 5.2 via a third fold line 8.1, 8.2 on a first lateral edge.

The second connecting strips 7.1, 7.2 are in turn connected to a trapezoidal separating web 10.1, 10.2 via a fourth fold line 9.1, 9.2 on a second lateral edge. In this embodiment, the fourth fold lines 9.1, 9.2 extend perpendicular to the third fold lines 8.1, 8.2. The second connecting strips 7.1, 7.2 are rectangular, with their first lateral edge being half as long as the lower edge of the first connecting strip 5.1, 5.2.

The second connecting strips 7.1, 7.2 have outwardly projecting lugs 11.1, 11.2 within interruptions in the fourth fold lines 9.1, 9.2. The lugs 11.1, 11.2 are separated from the separating webs 10.1, 10.2 by punched lines 12.1, 12.2, which extend between the ends of the fourth fold lines 9.1, 9.2 adjoining the lugs 11.1, 11.2.

Finally, the side walls 3.2, 3.4, which are not connected to first connecting strips 5.1, 5.2 via second fold lines 6.1, 6.2, are connected to trapezoidal corner connecting flaps 14.1 to 14.4 via fifth fold lines 13.1 to 13.4 at their lateral edges.

To erect the carrier, the corner connecting flaps 14.1 to 14.4 are folded around the fifth fold lines 13.1 to 13.4 in an approximately perpendicular orientation to the side walls 3.2, 3.4 connected to them and all side walls 3.1 to 3.4 are folded upwards around the first fold lines 4.1 to 4.4 until they abut at their lateral edges. They are secured in this orientation by gluing the corner connecting flaps 14.1 to 14.4 to the insides of the adjacent side walls 3.1, 3.3.

The side walls 3.1 to 3.4 and the bottom wall 2 then form a first shell-shaped carrier 15.1 which is open at the top and gradually widens upwards. In this configuration, the first beam is 15.1 in 2 shown. It can also be seen from this that the first connecting strips 5.1, 5.2 are in the same plane as the side walls 3.1, 3.2 connected thereto via second fold lines 6.1, 6.2 and the second connecting strips 7.1, 7.2 connected thereto via third fold lines 8.1, 8.2 and the fourth fold lines connected thereto 9.1, 9.2 connected dividers 10.1, 10.2 are arranged.

According to 3 a large number of such prefabricated first carriers 15.1 can be nested to save space and stored in the stack 16.

Individual first carriers 15.1 can be taken from the stack 16 for packaging products. Before packing, each first carrier 15.1 is fully erected. For this purpose, the first connecting strips 5.1, 5.2 are folded around the second fold lines 6.1, 6.2 against the insides of the side walls 3.1, 3.3 connected thereto, the second connecting strips 7.1, 7.2 are folded around the third fold lines 8.1, 8.2 in the opposite direction and the dividers 10.1, 10.2 are folded around the fourth folding lines 9.1, 9.2 are folded outwards in a perpendicular alignment to the second connecting strips 7.1, 7.2. this is in 4 shown. In this case, slot-like openings 17.1, 17.2 are formed between the lugs 11.1, 11.2 and the adjacent separating webs 10.1, 10.2, the contour of which is limited by the punched lines 12.1, 12.2. These folds can be performed in whole or in part at the same time or sequentially.

With further folding slide according to figure 5 the separating webs 10.1, 10.2 with the sides facing each other along.

When the second connecting strips 7.1, 7.2 hit the top of the bottom wall 2, the separating webs 10.1, 10.2 are arranged congruently next to one another.

In this position, a lug 12.1 covers the other lug 12.2 and engages in the opening 17.2 in the divider 10.2 above the other lug 12.2. As a result, the first carrier 15.1 is secured in the fully erected position. this is in 6 and 7 shown. The dividers 10.1, 10.2 divide the first carrier 15.1 into two compartments 18.1, 18.2. Products that are separated from one another by the dividers can be inserted into the compartments. This is advantageous, for example, for separating different product types.

The second carrier 15.2 from Figures 8 to 11 differs from the first carrier 15.1 in that the first connecting strips 5.1, 5.2 are connected at the outer ends of the lower edges via sixth fold lines 19.1, 19.2 to lateral retaining flaps 20.1, 20.2. In the example, the lateral retaining tabs 20.1, 20.2 are rectangular.

When the second carrier 15.2 is erected, the retaining tabs 20.1, 20.2 are each fixed between the second connecting strips 7.1, 7.2 and the bottom wall 2. This keeps the first connecting strips 5.1, 5.2 in contact with the insides of the side walls 3.1, 3.3 and prevents them from protruding from the side walls 3.1, 3.3 due to the restoring forces in the box.

The third carrier 15.3 from Figures 12 to 14 differs from the second carrier 15.2 in that the second connecting strips 7.1, 7.2 have parallel first lateral edges. Furthermore, the second connecting strips are each connected to the first connecting strips 5.1, 5.2 via a third folding line 8.1, 8.2 along the entire lower edge thereof. As a result, when Erect the first connecting strips 5.1, 5.2 and the separating webs 10.1, 10.2 folded in the opposite direction to the first connecting strips 5.1, 5.2. This is particularly in 14 shown.
