Definitions

  • the invention relates to an arrangement of packaging boxes comprising a plurality of stacked, open-topped packaging boxes which have a peripheral edge on their open side and which are each filled with a large number of cylindrical bodies, in particular open plastic tube bodies, which have an open end over the peripheral edge of the packaging box protrude and form a bearing surface for a packaging box arranged above it.
  • U.S. 5,829,592 A discloses an assembly of packing boxes according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • Cylindrical plastic bodies are usually produced in an extruder.
  • the extruder produces a tubular endless body, which is divided by cutting to length into individual tube sections, which are separated, subjected to further processing steps if necessary and sized for transport in packaging boxes.
  • Such cylindrical bodies occur, for example, in the manufacture of plastic tubes.
  • the hose sections form the plastic tube bodies, which are provided with a tube head at one of their two open ends. The other end remains open to allow filling with the respective product, such as a cosmetic product. After filling, the open end is pinched and welded into a flat end section.
  • plastic tube bodies are usually produced and filled by different companies, large quantities of empty plastic tube bodies have to be transported from the tube manufacturer to the filling company. For this, the empty Plastic tube bodies placed side by side in a packing box with the open end up. A number of such filled packaging boxes are stacked on top of each other and transported on transport pallets.
  • the length of the cylindrical bodies can vary according to customer requirements.
  • the individual packaging boxes usually contain cylindrical bodies that are the same length, so that the height of the packaging volume is optimally utilized. Adapting the packaging boxes to the respective length of the cylindrical bodies contained therein would require packaging boxes of different heights to be kept in stock, which is logistically complex. Instead, a single design of the packaging box with a standard height is therefore used even with varying body lengths of the cylindrical bodies. In order to also minimize the volume to be transported, the standard height is based on the lowest expected length of the cylindrical body. However, this has the result that the bodies which exceed the minimum expected length protrude with their open end over the upper edge of the packaging box.
  • This can in particular lead to a deformation in the Cylindrical bodies arranged in packaging boxes lead when the plastic body is particularly thin-walled and therefore has low intrinsic stability.
  • a corner area of an upper packaging box in particular causes an increased load on the cylindrical bodies arranged below this corner area.
  • the invention therefore aims to reduce the risk of deformation of the cylindrical bodies in the packaging box with a minimum consumption of packaging material.
  • the invention provides an arrangement of packaging boxes, comprising a plurality of stacked, open-topped packaging boxes which have a peripheral edge on their open side and which are each filled with a large number of cylindrical bodies, in particular open plastic tube bodies, which protrude with an open end over the peripheral edge of the packaging box and form a support surface for a packaging box arranged above it, with an intermediate layer being arranged between the support surface and the packaging box arranged above it, the intermediate layer comprising a flat element which has a multiplicity of depressions with a circular has edge, and wherein the indentations of the shim engage the open ends of the cylindrical bodies.
  • the cylindrical bodies are stabilized in the engaged area so that the loads from overlying packaging boxes do not cause the cylindrical bodies to deform.
  • the circular edge of the depressions essentially has a diameter corresponding to the inside diameter of the cylindrical body. This ensures that the circular edge of the indentations abuts against the inside of the circular open end of the cylindrical body and reliably secures the open end against inward displacement.
  • the indentation with its circular edge stabilizes the circular cross-sectional shape of the cylindrical containers.
  • the indentations are preferably concave, in particular hemispherical. This facilitates the insertion of the indentations into the cylindrical bodies.
  • the cylindrical bodies are preferably arranged in a plurality of rows in the packaging box, the cylindrical bodies of one row being staggered with respect to the cylindrical bodies of an adjacent row.
  • the indentations of the shim are arranged such that each indentation engages the open end of one of the cylindrical bodies.
  • each cylindrical body has to be assigned an indentation, but rather the indentations can be arranged in such a way that they only engage in every second cylindrical body, for example.
  • each cylindrical body is assigned a depression.
  • the indentations are arranged in the same row pattern as the cylindrical bodies.
  • the plurality of wells are arranged in a plurality of rows, with the wells of one row being offset from the wells of an adjacent row.
  • the intermediate layer is formed by a flat element, this can be arranged in a space-saving manner between two packaging boxes stacked on top of one another.
  • the flat element preferably covers the entire opening of the packaging box and assumes the function of a lid, so that a separate lid can be dispensed with.
  • the intermediate layer acts as a load-distributing element, so that forces acting locally on the packaging box from above are distributed over a larger area and accordingly cannot lead to deformations of individual cylindrical bodies.
  • the flat element and the depressions are preferably formed in one piece with one another.
  • the flat element consists of a plastic film, in particular a thermoplastic material such as polyethylene terephthalate (PET).
  • PET polyethylene terephthalate
  • a thermoplastic allows a simple and inexpensive production of the intermediate layer, the depressions preferably being formed by a deep-drawing process.
  • the flat element preferably has a thickness of 0.1-1 mm.
  • the shim may be transparent or translucent to better monitor the correct engagement of the indentations with the open ends of the cylindrical bodies.
  • the flat element has an erected, in particular bent-up edge region, which preferably extends around the entire circumference of the flat element.
  • Such an erected edge area forms a stacking aid.
  • the erected edge region of the flat element forms a lateral stop for the base of the packaging box arranged above it.
  • packaging boxes can be used within the scope of the invention.
  • cardboard packaging boxes can be used.
  • cuboid packaging boxes are preferred.
  • the invention can also be used with other forms of packaging boxes.
  • the intermediate layer is then not rectangular, but adapted to the respective outline shape of the packaging box.
  • a further layer can preferably be arranged between the bearing surface of the cylindrical body and the packaging box arranged above it.
  • the further layer can be arranged between the bearing surface of the cylindrical body and the intermediate layer arranged above it.
  • the further layer consists, for example, of a flexible film, in particular a polyethylene film, in particular made of HD-PE, which adapts to the shape of the indentations.
  • the other layer has the function of closing off the open ends of the cylindrical body and thus protecting against the ingress of contaminants.
  • the cylindrical bodies may be accommodated in the packaging box in a flexible sack made of, for example, a polyethylene film.
  • a flexible sack made of, for example, a polyethylene film.
  • the packaging boxes are open at the top and each have an upper peripheral edge 4 on.
  • the packaging boxes are each filled with a large number of cylindrical bodies 5, in particular open plastic tube bodies, which protrude with an open end over the peripheral edge 4 of the packaging box 1, 2 or 3.
  • the cylindrical bodies 5 are all of the same length, so that the open ends of the cylindrical bodies 5 form a flat bearing surface for the packaging box placed above.
  • an intermediate layer 6 is arranged between the packaging box 2 and the packaging box 3 arranged above it, which intermediate layer has a multiplicity of depressions 7 .
  • the indentations 7, like the cylindrical bodies 5, are arranged in a plurality of parallel rows, with the cylindrical bodies 5 of one row being staggered with respect to the cylindrical bodies 5 of an adjacent row.
  • the indentations 7 are designed in such a way that they engage in the upper open end of the respectively associated cylindrical body 5 .
  • the recess 7 is hemispherical and has a circular edge 8 which rests against the inside of the open end 9 of the cylindrical body 5, so that radial stabilization takes place.
  • the intermediate layer 6 has a bent-up edge region 10 at its edges, which forms a lateral stop for the bottom of the packaging box 3 arranged above it, as shown in FIG 3 is recognizable. This will ensure that the Packing boxes are kept in their aligned position relative to each other.
