Definitions
- the present invention relates to an article of furniture comprising a support profile for a hinge, preferably of the concealed type.
- the invention relates to a support profile for an article of furniture made of wood.
- the housing obtained in the panel of the article of furniture has a height that is excessive with respect to the available thickness.
- the housing is obtained centrally with respect to the thickness of the panel and this means that the two layers of wood between which it is interposed do not provide a resistant, solid and durable support above and below because of the weight of the hinge and of the door connected thereto.
- the continuous stress suffered by the panel because of the normal action of the force of gravity and the continuous actions of opening and closing the door continuously weaken the structure of the panel until it gets broken at the housing.
- the technical task of the present invention is to propose an article of furniture comprising a support profile for a concealed type hinge which overcomes the drawbacks of the known art as mentioned above.
- one object of the present invention is to provide a support profile for a concealed type hinge for an article of furniture that is able to provide a support that is more resistant than the prior art.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide a support profile that is able to avoid the breakage of the panel of the article of furniture on which it is installed.
- a further object of the present invention is to provide an article of furniture, preferably made of wood, on which the aforesaid support profile is installed.
- the stated technical task and specified objects are substantially achieved by an article of furniture comprising a support profile for a concealed type hinge , which comprises the technical features set out in the independent claim.
- the dependent claims correspond to further advantageous aspects of the invention.
- the invention concerns an article of furniture comprising at least one panel, preferably made of wood, at least one support profile, the support profile comprising a crosspiece that extends over a preset length along an extension direction, at least one seat configured to receive a portion of the hinge and obtained transversely to the extension direction at a first surface portion of the crosspiece, in use, arranged opposite the article of furniture, connected to the panel by the hooking member, a door configurable between an opening position and a closing position, in which the door is arranged abutted against at least the support profile, and at least one hinge, preferably of the concealed type, having a first portion connected to the door and a second portion inserted into the seat of the support profile.
- the hinge is in fact configured to permit movement of the door between the opening position and the closing position.
- the present invention relates to an article of furniture comprising a support profile for a concealed type hinge.
- a support profile has been generically indicated with the number 1 and an article of furniture has been generically indicated with the number 50.
- Figures 1a , 2a illustrate a support profile 1 for a hinge preferably of the concealed type 51 for an article of furniture 50.
- the support profile 1 comprises a crosspiece 2 that extends over a preset length along an extension direction E; at least one seat 3 configured to receive a portion of the hinge 51 and obtained at a first surface portion 4 of the crosspiece 2; and at least one hooking member 5, 6, 7 arranged on the crosspiece 2 to define a connection between the crosspiece 2 and a portion of the article of furniture 50.
- the seat 3 is obtained transversely (preferably extends perpendicularly) to the extension direction E so that, in use, it is arranged opposite the article of furniture 50 so that the hinge 51 inserted inside offers an advantageous hooking point for a door 52.
- the interposition of the support profile 1 between the door 52 and a portion of the article of furniture 50, for example a panel 53, increases the solidity of the article of furniture 50 itself because it is the support profile 1 that supports directly the entire weight of the door 52 and the stress generated by opening and closing the door.
- the prior art envisages installing the hinge 51 directly on a portion of the article of furniture 50, having a reduced thickness because of the tasks performed to obtain a seat, which will tend to get damaged as far as breakage owing to the weight and stress of the door 52.
- the support profile 1 is made of a metal or plastic material so as to ensure a high degree of resistance to breakage for the support of the hinge 51 and of the door 52.
- the task to be performed on the portion of the article of furniture 50 will not be such as to reduce excessively resistance to stress even as far as breakage, like for example excessive reduction of the thickness of a panel 53 in which a portion of the hinge 51 has to be inserted.
- the seat 3 is an insertion recess obtained on the crosspiece 2 and shaped for containing at least one portion of the hinge 51.
- the crosspiece 2 is made of a material that is more resistant than wood, preferably metal (or even more preferably aluminium), so as to provide greater resistance at the thicknesses of the crosspiece 2 arranged above and below the seat 3.
- the seat 3 simply defines an installation area of the hinge 51. Accordingly, according to this embodiment, on the crosspiece 2 actual tasks are not performed in order to obtain an insertion recess for the hinge 51, as the latter is installable directly in an area (possibly advantageously bounded visually) of the first surface portion 4 of the crosspiece 2.
- Figures 1b , 2b illustrate, respectively, a first and a second embodiment of the crosspiece 2.
- the hooking member comprises a constraining element 5 arranged in a cantilever fashion on a second surface portion 8 opposite the first surface portion 4 with respect to the extension direction E.
- the second surface portion 8 in use, faces a panel 53 of the article of furniture 50 to make the constraining element 5 face at least one respective housing 55 obtained beforehand on the panel 53.
- the constraining element 5 has a thickness that is less than the thickness of the crosspiece 2 and thus the corresponding housing 55 obtained on the article of furniture 50 has a corresponding minimum height.
- the housing 55 will have a height that is much less than the thickness of the aforesaid panel 53, not reducing the mechanical resistance of the latter.
- the constraining element 5 extends on the crosspiece 2 along the extension direction E at least along part of the length of the crosspiece 2.
- figure 3a illustrates according to a rear perspective the first embodiment of the support profile 1 so as to highlight the hooking member 5 thereof, a transverse surface 11 and the entire respective seat 3.
- Figure 3b illustrates according to a rear perspective view the second embodiment of the support profile 1 so as to highlight the hooking member 5 thereof, a transverse surface 11 and the entire respective seat 3.
- the hooking member 5 has the same conformation in both the first embodiment and in the second embodiment.
- the constraining element 5 extends on the crosspiece 2 along the extension direction E for a length that is equal to that of the crosspiece 2.
- the constraining element 5 comprises one or more barb elements having constraining teeth 9 for the connection between the crosspiece 2 and a portion of the article of furniture 50.
- the constraining teeth 9 increase friction with the walls of the housing 55 in which barb element has to be inserted so as to improve the connection between the support profile 1 and the article of furniture 50.
- Figures 1a and 3 also illustrate another aspect of the crosspiece 2, in particular of the first embodiment of the profile 1.
- the hooking member comprises a sliding support 6 and a lane 7 along which the sliding support 6 is insertable.
- the lane 7 is obtained on a transverse surface 11 transverse to the extension direction E of the crosspiece 2 and the sliding support 6, in use, is constrainable to a portion of the article of furniture 50.
- the lane 7 is obtained laterally to the crosspiece 2 so that the support profile 1 can be inserted between two side panels of an article of furniture 50.
- This installation can advantageously occur at any moment of manufacture of the article of furniture 50 before installation of the door 52.
- the sliding support 6 comprises a drilled plate installable by fixing means 10 on a portion of the article of furniture 50, preferably a transverse or side panel 54.
- the lane 7 is obtained on the transverse surface 11 arranged transversely to the first and to the second surface portion 4, 8.
- the drilled plate is installed on a wall of the article of furniture 50 so that the support profile 1 can be installed by sliding on the article of furniture 50.
- the lane 7, is in fact counter-shaped for receiving this drilled plate and for creating sufficient friction with the latter so as to avoid involuntary extraction.
- the hooking member comprises both the constraining element 5 and the sliding support 6 and the lane 7.
- the hooking member comprises either the constraining element 5, or the sliding support 6 and the lane 7.
- Figure 1c illustrates the article of furniture 50 on which the first embodiment of the profile is installed 1, which is configured to house the hinge 51 and accordingly support the door 52 of the article of furniture 50.
- Figure 1c illustrates different positioning of the profile 1 on the article of furniture 50.
- the profile 1 is installed on a lower panel 53 of the article of furniture 50 (for example a base thereof)
- the profile 1 is illustrated connected to an upper panel 53 (for example a cover panel).
- Figures 2a and 2c illustrate a different aspect of the crosspiece 2 that is alternative to what has just been disclosed.
- the hooking member comprises a containment casing 16 configured to clad at least partially a portion of the hinge 51 and, simultaneously, maintain the hinge 51 in position inside the seat 3.
- the containment casing 16 is maintained in a position that is solidly constrained to the seat 3 (or more precisely with respect to the crosspiece 2) and to the portion of the hinge 51 by respective fixing means 10, for example screws.
- the containment casing 16 (better illustrated in figure 2c ) is counter-shaped with respect to a portion of the hinge 51 so as to form a partial cladding or partial shell thereof above and opposite for positioning of the box of the hinge 51.
- the containment casing 16 has a base to support the hinge 51, a rear wall to determine a stop member when the hinge 51 is positioned inside and a pair of side walls for lateral containment of the hinge 51.
- a drilled appendage 18 is fitted that is arranged in a cantilevered manner and parallel to the rear wall.
- the fixing means 10 is able to constrain the hinge 51 and the containment casing 16 together by being interposed between the drilled appendage 18 and a corresponding and counter-shaped portion of the hinge 51.
- the drilled appendage 18 also has a threaded bush 19.
- Interposing fixing means 10 between the threaded bush 19 and a corresponding hole 20 obtained on the first surface portion 4 of the crosspiece 2 permits stable positioning and positioning in a position of the containment casing 16 that is solidly constrained to the profile 1.
- the containment casing 16 comprises a protruding element 17 arranged in a cantilever fashion on a side wall for forming, in use, a shape coupling with a cavity 57 of the article of furniture 50. More precisely, the protruding element 17 is arranged on the side wall opposite the side wall that comprises the drilled appendage 18. In particular, this side wall of the protruding element 17, in use, is arranged substantially at a transverse surface 11 transverse to the extension direction E of the crosspiece 2.
- the protruding element 17 when the containment casing 16 is arranged in the seat 3, the protruding element 17 must protrude also with respect to the crosspiece 2 according to the extension direction E, beyond the transverse surface 11 so as to determine the shape coupling with the cavity 57 of the transverse panel 54 of the article of furniture 50.
- the protruding element 17 enables the containment casing 16 to be centred correctly with respect to the crosspiece 2 and, consequently, also with respect to the hinge 51.
- the hooking member comprises the constraining element 5, the containment casing 16 and the protruding element 17.
- the containment casing 16 and the protruding element 17 could be distinct elements that are part of different entities that are not necessarily part of the overall hooking member.
- Figure 2d illustrates the article of furniture 50 on which the second embodiment of the profile is installed 1, which is configured to house the hinge 51 and accordingly support the door 52 of the article of furniture 50.
- Figure 4 illustrates the crosspiece 2 comprising a gripping groove 12.
- the gripping groove 12 extends for at least one part of the length of the crosspiece 2 and is obtained substantially at the first surface portion 4.
- the gripping groove 12 is useful for simplifying opening of the door 52 because between the latter and the support profile 1 a gap is formed in which a user is able to insert hands for leverage.
- a first support profile 1 is installed at the cover panel whilst a second support profile 1, which is usually placed at a height that is easily accessible for a user, is installed at a base panel.
- a pair of hinges 51 normally used for supporting the door 52 is installed on the article of furniture 50 and only the second support profile 1 needs the presence of a gripping groove 12 for opening of the door 52 by the user.
- the crosspiece 2 comprises a first inner partition 13 that extends along the extension direction E parallel to the first and the second surface portion 4, 8 for at least one part of the length of the crosspiece 2.
- the crosspiece 2 comprises a second inner partition 14 also extending along the extension direction E for the same length as the first inner partition 13.
- the second inner partition 14 is arranged transversely between the first inner partition 13 and the first surface portion 4 of the crosspiece 2 so as to define the gripping groove 12 when an outer part of the crosspiece 2 is removed that faces internally the second inner partition 14.
- the gripping groove 12 is defined by the first inner partition 13, by the second inner partition 14 and by at least part of the first surface portion 4.
- first inner partition 13 and the second inner partition 14 are able to increase the solidity of the structure of the crosspiece 2.
- the first inner partition 13 and the second inner partition 14 enable support profiles 1 to be produced that are useful for being installed both at a base or cover panel 53 of the article of furniture 50.
- the first inner partition 13 and the second inner partition 14 define the gripping groove 12 only following removal of part of the crosspiece 2.
- the support profile 1 needs the gripping groove 12 because it is installed at a base panel of the article of furniture 50 then it is possible to remove part of the crosspiece 2 so that the first inner partition 13 and the second inner partition 14 face the exterior of the crosspiece 2 and define the gripping groove 12.
- the crosspiece 2 is set up to be shaped as a groove owing to the presence of the inner partitions 13, 14 that define the groove following the incision.
- the crosspiece 2 comprises at least one pair of inner sheets 15 facing one another and extending along the extension direction E on different surfaces thereof that are transverse to the first and to the second surface portion 4, 8 to align and/or maintain in position a portion of the hinge 51 when the latter, in use, is inserted into the seat 3.
- the inner sheets 15 have a lower height than a height of the first and second surface portion 4, 8.
- the crosspiece 2 comprises inner sheets 15 (two of which are parallel to the surface portions 4, 8 and one of which is perpendicular to the surface portions 4, 8) useful for maintaining the containment casing 16 aligned when it is inserted into the seat 3.
- the inner sheets 15 act as a thickness between the surfaces of the crosspiece 2 and the containment casing 16 and the portion of hinge 51 inserted inside so as to fill the empty space therebetween and maintain everything solidly constrained and stationary in a stable position.
- the inner sheets 15 have a height that is slightly greater than the space between the surfaces of the crosspiece 2 and the portion of hinge 51 or containment casing 16 so as to maintain the latter stationary in a stable position by the generation of friction force that prevents the movement thereof (also involuntary) of extraction from the seat 3 or of vibration inside the seat 3.
- the crosspiece 2 has a substantially rectangular cross section with respect to the extension direction E.
- the crosspiece 2 has a substantially parallelepiped shape.
- the first surface portion 4 is the front face of the support profile 1 when installed, whereas the second surface portion 8 is the rear portion facing the article of furniture.
- the lane 7 into which the sliding element 6 is insertable is obtained on the side face of the parallelepiped.
- the present patent application also relates to an article of furniture 50, preferably made of wood, in which the previously disclosed support profile 1 is installed.
- the panel 53 defines a base or a cover of the article of furniture 50.
- Figures 5a , 5b illustrate a portion of the article of furniture 50 in which at least one pair of panels 53 is comprised, at least one base panel and at least one cover panel arranged above and parallel to the base panel.
- the panels are made of wood.

- each support profile 1 is connected to the panel 53 by the hooking member 5, 6, 7, 16, 17 and each hinge 51 comprises a first portion connected to the door 52 and a second portion inserted into the seat 3 of the support profile 1.
- the article of furniture 50 comprises a transverse panel 54 that is transverse to the base or cover panel 53 and to the support profile 1 to bound a containing volume of the article of furniture V.
- the transverse panel 54 is arranged protruding from a vertical plane H interposed between the support profile 1 and the base or cover panel 53. More precisely, the transverse panel 54 protrudes for a length that is equal to the depth of the support profile 1 so that the door 52 abuts orthogonally to the support profile 1 and to the transverse panel 54 when in the closing position.
- the sliding support 6 is installable on the transverse panel 54 in such a manner that the support profile 1 can be slidingly hooked with the transverse panel 54 owing to the presence of the lane 7.

Description
- The present invention relates to an article of furniture comprising a support profile for a hinge, preferably of the concealed type.
- In particular, the invention relates to a support profile for an article of furniture made of wood.
- Currently, installing a hinge, and in particular a concealed type hinge, on a wooden panel of an article of furniture, for example the panel of an article of kitchen furniture, involves obtaining a housing along the thickness of the panel into which a respective box of the hinge is insertable. ITMI20100555 DE2722758 describe some examples. - Nevertheless, owing to the normal dimensions of the concealed type hinges, the housing obtained in the panel of the article of furniture has a height that is excessive with respect to the available thickness.
- Normally, the housing is obtained centrally with respect to the thickness of the panel and this means that the two layers of wood between which it is interposed do not provide a resistant, solid and durable support above and below because of the weight of the hinge and of the door connected thereto. The continuous stress suffered by the panel because of the normal action of the force of gravity and the continuous actions of opening and closing the door continuously weaken the structure of the panel until it gets broken at the housing.
- This patent application accordingly provides a solution to the problem of the prior art set out above.
- In this context, the technical task of the present invention is to propose an article of furniture comprising a support profile for a concealed type hinge which overcomes the drawbacks of the known art as mentioned above.
- In particular, one object of the present invention is to provide a support profile for a concealed type hinge for an article of furniture that is able to provide a support that is more resistant than the prior art.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide a support profile that is able to avoid the breakage of the panel of the article of furniture on which it is installed.
- A further object of the present invention is to provide an article of furniture, preferably made of wood, on which the aforesaid support profile is installed. The stated technical task and specified objects are substantially achieved by an article of furniture comprising a support profile for a concealed type hinge , which comprises the technical features set out in the independent claim. The dependent claims correspond to further advantageous aspects of the invention.
- It should be noted that this summary introduces, in simplified form, a selection of concepts which will be further elaborated in the detailed description given below.
The hinge is in fact configured to permit movement of the door between the opening position and the closing position.
- Additional features and advantages of the present invention will become more apparent from the approximate, and thus non-limiting, description of a preferred, but non-exclusive embodiment of an article of furniture comprising a support profile for a concealed type hinge, as illustrated in the appended drawings, in which:

- The present invention relates to an article of furniture comprising a support profile for a concealed type hinge.
- With reference to the figures, a support profile has been generically indicated with the
number 1 and an article of furniture has been generically indicated with thenumber 50. - The other numerical references refer to technical features of the invention which, barring indications otherwise or evident structural incompatibilities, the person skilled in the art will know how to apply to all the variant embodiments described.
- In the following description, two different embodiments have been identified in particular relating to the
support profile 1 and thehinge 51 shown respectively infigures 1a ,1b ,1c ,3a ,5a (first) and 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 4b, 5b (second). -
Figures 1a ,2a illustrate asupport profile 1 for a hinge preferably of the concealedtype 51 for an article offurniture 50. - In particular, the
support profile 1 comprises acrosspiece 2 that extends over a preset length along an extension direction E; at least oneseat 3 configured to receive a portion of thehinge 51 and obtained at afirst surface portion 4 of thecrosspiece 2; and at least one hookingmember crosspiece 2 to define a connection between thecrosspiece 2 and a portion of the article offurniture 50. - More precisely, the
seat 3 is obtained transversely (preferably extends perpendicularly) to the extension direction E so that, in use, it is arranged opposite the article offurniture 50 so that thehinge 51 inserted inside offers an advantageous hooking point for adoor 52. - The interposition of the
support profile 1 between thedoor 52 and a portion of the article offurniture 50, for example apanel 53, increases the solidity of the article offurniture 50 itself because it is thesupport profile 1 that supports directly the entire weight of thedoor 52 and the stress generated by opening and closing the door. - Otherwise, the prior art envisages installing the
hinge 51 directly on a portion of the article offurniture 50, having a reduced thickness because of the tasks performed to obtain a seat, which will tend to get damaged as far as breakage owing to the weight and stress of thedoor 52. - Preferably, the
support profile 1 is made of a metal or plastic material so as to ensure a high degree of resistance to breakage for the support of thehinge 51 and of thedoor 52. Thus advantageously, the task to be performed on the portion of the article offurniture 50 will not be such as to reduce excessively resistance to stress even as far as breakage, like for example excessive reduction of the thickness of apanel 53 in which a portion of thehinge 51 has to be inserted. - Preferably, the
seat 3 is an insertion recess obtained on thecrosspiece 2 and shaped for containing at least one portion of thehinge 51. - Advantageously the
crosspiece 2 is made of a material that is more resistant than wood, preferably metal (or even more preferably aluminium), so as to provide greater resistance at the thicknesses of thecrosspiece 2 arranged above and below theseat 3. - Alternatively, according to a different embodiment of the invention that is not shown, the
seat 3 simply defines an installation area of thehinge 51. Accordingly, according to this embodiment, on thecrosspiece 2 actual tasks are not performed in order to obtain an insertion recess for thehinge 51, as the latter is installable directly in an area (possibly advantageously bounded visually) of thefirst surface portion 4 of thecrosspiece 2. -
Figures 1b ,2b illustrate, respectively, a first and a second embodiment of thecrosspiece 2. - In both embodiments, the hooking member comprises a constraining
element 5 arranged in a cantilever fashion on asecond surface portion 8 opposite thefirst surface portion 4 with respect to the extension direction E. In particular, thesecond surface portion 8, in use, faces apanel 53 of the article offurniture 50 to make the constrainingelement 5 face at least onerespective housing 55 obtained beforehand on thepanel 53. Advantageously, the constrainingelement 5 has a thickness that is less than the thickness of thecrosspiece 2 and thus thecorresponding housing 55 obtained on the article offurniture 50 has a corresponding minimum height. In other words, unlike the prior art, if thesupport profile 1 has to be installed on a base or cover panel of the article offurniture 50, thehousing 55 will have a height that is much less than the thickness of theaforesaid panel 53, not reducing the mechanical resistance of the latter. - According to one aspect of the invention (visible better in
figures 3a ,3b ), the constrainingelement 5 extends on thecrosspiece 2 along the extension direction E at least along part of the length of thecrosspiece 2. - In particular,
figure 3a illustrates according to a rear perspective the first embodiment of thesupport profile 1 so as to highlight the hookingmember 5 thereof, atransverse surface 11 and the entirerespective seat 3.Figure 3b , on the other hand illustrates according to a rear perspective view the second embodiment of thesupport profile 1 so as to highlight the hookingmember 5 thereof, atransverse surface 11 and the entirerespective seat 3. Preferably, the hookingmember 5 has the same conformation in both the first embodiment and in the second embodiment. - According to another aspect of the invention, the constraining
element 5 extends on thecrosspiece 2 along the extension direction E for a length that is equal to that of thecrosspiece 2. - According to a further aspect of the invention, the constraining
element 5 comprises one or more barb elements having constrainingteeth 9 for the connection between thecrosspiece 2 and a portion of the article offurniture 50. - Advantageously, the constraining
teeth 9 increase friction with the walls of thehousing 55 in which barb element has to be inserted so as to improve the connection between thesupport profile 1 and the article offurniture 50.Figures 1a and3 also illustrate another aspect of thecrosspiece 2, in particular of the first embodiment of theprofile 1. - The hooking member comprises a
sliding support 6 and alane 7 along which thesliding support 6 is insertable. In particular, thelane 7 is obtained on atransverse surface 11 transverse to the extension direction E of thecrosspiece 2 and thesliding support 6, in use, is constrainable to a portion of the article offurniture 50. - Preferably, the
lane 7 is obtained laterally to thecrosspiece 2 so that thesupport profile 1 can be inserted between two side panels of an article offurniture 50. This installation can advantageously occur at any moment of manufacture of the article offurniture 50 before installation of thedoor 52. According to one aspect of the invention, the slidingsupport 6 comprises a drilled plate installable by fixingmeans 10 on a portion of the article offurniture 50, preferably a transverse orside panel 54. In greater detail, thelane 7 is obtained on thetransverse surface 11 arranged transversely to the first and to thesecond surface portion - Advantageously, the drilled plate is installed on a wall of the article of
furniture 50 so that thesupport profile 1 can be installed by sliding on the article offurniture 50. Thelane 7, is in fact counter-shaped for receiving this drilled plate and for creating sufficient friction with the latter so as to avoid involuntary extraction. - According to a preferred aspect of the first embodiment of the
profile 1, the hooking member comprises both the constrainingelement 5 and the slidingsupport 6 and thelane 7. - Alternatively, the hooking member comprises either the constraining
element 5, or the slidingsupport 6 and thelane 7. -
Figure 1c illustrates the article offurniture 50 on which the first embodiment of the profile is installed 1, which is configured to house thehinge 51 and accordingly support thedoor 52 of the article offurniture 50. -
Figure 1c , with respect tofigure 1a , illustrates different positioning of theprofile 1 on the article offurniture 50. Whereas infigure 1a theprofile 1 is installed on alower panel 53 of the article of furniture 50 (for example a base thereof), infigure 1c theprofile 1 is illustrated connected to an upper panel 53 (for example a cover panel). -
Figures 2a and2c illustrate a different aspect of thecrosspiece 2 that is alternative to what has just been disclosed. - In other words, unlike the first embodiment of the profile in which the sliding
support 6 and thelane 7 are present, in the second embodiment of theprofile 1 the hooking member comprises acontainment casing 16 configured to clad at least partially a portion of thehinge 51 and, simultaneously, maintain thehinge 51 in position inside theseat 3. Preferably, thecontainment casing 16 is maintained in a position that is solidly constrained to the seat 3 (or more precisely with respect to the crosspiece 2) and to the portion of thehinge 51 by respective fixing means 10, for example screws. - According to one aspect of the invention illustrated in
figure 2a , the containment casing 16 (better illustrated infigure 2c ) is counter-shaped with respect to a portion of thehinge 51 so as to form a partial cladding or partial shell thereof above and opposite for positioning of the box of thehinge 51. In other words, thecontainment casing 16 has a base to support thehinge 51, a rear wall to determine a stop member when thehinge 51 is positioned inside and a pair of side walls for lateral containment of thehinge 51. - On a side wall a drilled
appendage 18 is fitted that is arranged in a cantilevered manner and parallel to the rear wall. When thehinge 51 is arranged in thecontainment casing 16, the fixing means 10 is able to constrain thehinge 51 and thecontainment casing 16 together by being interposed between the drilledappendage 18 and a corresponding and counter-shaped portion of thehinge 51. - According to an optional aspect of the
containment casing 16, the drilledappendage 18 also has a threadedbush 19. Interposing fixing means 10 between the threadedbush 19 and a correspondinghole 20 obtained on thefirst surface portion 4 of thecrosspiece 2 permits stable positioning and positioning in a position of thecontainment casing 16 that is solidly constrained to theprofile 1. - According to one aspect of the invention, the
containment casing 16 comprises a protrudingelement 17 arranged in a cantilever fashion on a side wall for forming, in use, a shape coupling with acavity 57 of the article offurniture 50. More precisely, the protrudingelement 17 is arranged on the side wall opposite the side wall that comprises the drilledappendage 18. In particular, this side wall of the protrudingelement 17, in use, is arranged substantially at atransverse surface 11 transverse to the extension direction E of thecrosspiece 2. In other words, when thecontainment casing 16 is arranged in theseat 3, the protrudingelement 17 must protrude also with respect to thecrosspiece 2 according to the extension direction E, beyond thetransverse surface 11 so as to determine the shape coupling with thecavity 57 of thetransverse panel 54 of the article offurniture 50. - Advantageously, the protruding
element 17 enables thecontainment casing 16 to be centred correctly with respect to thecrosspiece 2 and, consequently, also with respect to thehinge 51. - According to a preferred aspect of the second embodiment of the
profile 1, the hooking member comprises the constrainingelement 5, thecontainment casing 16 and the protrudingelement 17. - In other embodiments that are not shown in the attached figures, the
containment casing 16 and the protrudingelement 17 could be distinct elements that are part of different entities that are not necessarily part of the overall hooking member. -
Figure 2d illustrates the article offurniture 50 on which the second embodiment of the profile is installed 1, which is configured to house thehinge 51 and accordingly support thedoor 52 of the article offurniture 50. -
Figure 4 illustrates thecrosspiece 2 comprising a grippinggroove 12. In particular, the grippinggroove 12 extends for at least one part of the length of thecrosspiece 2 and is obtained substantially at thefirst surface portion 4. - Advantageously, if the
support profile 1 is installed at ahorizontal panel 53 of the article offurniture 50, for example a base or cover panel, then the grippinggroove 12 is useful for simplifying opening of thedoor 52 because between the latter and the support profile 1 a gap is formed in which a user is able to insert hands for leverage. - For example, in the case of an article of
furniture 50 consisting of wall units, afirst support profile 1 is installed at the cover panel whilst asecond support profile 1, which is usually placed at a height that is easily accessible for a user, is installed at a base panel. In this manner, a pair ofhinges 51 normally used for supporting thedoor 52 is installed on the article offurniture 50 and only thesecond support profile 1 needs the presence of agripping groove 12 for opening of thedoor 52 by the user. - According to one aspect of the invention better illustrated in
figure 1b (but the possibility of implementation also infigure 2 for the second embodiment of theprofile 1 cannot be ruled out), thecrosspiece 2 comprises a firstinner partition 13 that extends along the extension direction E parallel to the first and thesecond surface portion crosspiece 2. In addition, thecrosspiece 2 comprises a secondinner partition 14 also extending along the extension direction E for the same length as the firstinner partition 13. The secondinner partition 14 is arranged transversely between the firstinner partition 13 and thefirst surface portion 4 of thecrosspiece 2 so as to define thegripping groove 12 when an outer part of thecrosspiece 2 is removed that faces internally the secondinner partition 14. - According to another aspect of the invention, the gripping
groove 12 is defined by the firstinner partition 13, by the secondinner partition 14 and by at least part of thefirst surface portion 4. - Advantageously, the first
inner partition 13 and the secondinner partition 14 are able to increase the solidity of the structure of thecrosspiece 2. - Still more advantageously, according to one aspect of the present invention, the first
inner partition 13 and the secondinner partition 14 enablesupport profiles 1 to be produced that are useful for being installed both at a base or coverpanel 53 of the article offurniture 50. Preferably, the firstinner partition 13 and the secondinner partition 14 define thegripping groove 12 only following removal of part of thecrosspiece 2. In other words, if thesupport profile 1 needs the grippinggroove 12 because it is installed at a base panel of the article offurniture 50 then it is possible to remove part of thecrosspiece 2 so that the firstinner partition 13 and the secondinner partition 14 face the exterior of thecrosspiece 2 and define thegripping groove 12. In other words, also thecrosspiece 2 is set up to be shaped as a groove owing to the presence of theinner partitions - According to one aspect of the invention present in both embodiments of the support profile 1 (as is visible from
figures 1b ,2b ), thecrosspiece 2 comprises at least one pair ofinner sheets 15 facing one another and extending along the extension direction E on different surfaces thereof that are transverse to the first and to thesecond surface portion hinge 51 when the latter, in use, is inserted into theseat 3. Preferably, theinner sheets 15 have a lower height than a height of the first andsecond surface portion - In particular, as is visible in
figures 2b and3b , thecrosspiece 2 comprises inner sheets 15 (two of which are parallel to thesurface portions surface portions 4, 8) useful for maintaining thecontainment casing 16 aligned when it is inserted into theseat 3. - In other words, the
inner sheets 15 act as a thickness between the surfaces of thecrosspiece 2 and thecontainment casing 16 and the portion ofhinge 51 inserted inside so as to fill the empty space therebetween and maintain everything solidly constrained and stationary in a stable position. Advantageously for both embodiments of theprofile 1, theinner sheets 15 have a height that is slightly greater than the space between the surfaces of thecrosspiece 2 and the portion ofhinge 51 orcontainment casing 16 so as to maintain the latter stationary in a stable position by the generation of friction force that prevents the movement thereof (also involuntary) of extraction from theseat 3 or of vibration inside theseat 3. - According to one aspect of the invention better illustrated in
figures 1b and2b , thecrosspiece 2 has a substantially rectangular cross section with respect to the extension direction E. - In other words, the
crosspiece 2 has a substantially parallelepiped shape. In this manner, thefirst surface portion 4 is the front face of thesupport profile 1 when installed, whereas thesecond surface portion 8 is the rear portion facing the article of furniture. Thelane 7 into which the slidingelement 6 is insertable is obtained on the side face of the parallelepiped. The present patent application also relates to an article offurniture 50, preferably made of wood, in which the previously disclosedsupport profile 1 is installed. - According to one aspect of the invention, the
panel 53 defines a base or a cover of the article offurniture 50. -
Figures 5a ,5b illustrate a portion of the article offurniture 50 in which at least one pair ofpanels 53 is comprised, at least one base panel and at least one cover panel arranged above and parallel to the base panel. Preferably, the panels are made of wood. - The article of
furniture 50 further comprises asupport profile 1 for ahinge 51, preferably of the concealed type, is connected to eachpanel 53 as a coplanar extension thereof so as to support adoor 52 that is configurable between an opening position and a closing position, in which thedoor 52 is arranged abutted against at least the aforesaid support profiles 1. Advantageously, thehinge 51 is configured to permit movement of thedoor 52 between the opening position and the closing position. - More precisely, each
support profile 1 is connected to thepanel 53 by the hookingmember door 52 and a second portion inserted into theseat 3 of thesupport profile 1. - Still more precisely, in
figure 5a the coupling is visible between the constrainingelement 5 of each first embodiment of thesupport profile 1 and therespective housing 55 obtained on thebase panel 53 and thecover panel 53. In this manner, thesecond surface portions 8 abut against therespective panel 53, whilst thefirst surface portions 4 faces the outside of the article offurniture 50 and provide a surface against which thedoor 52 is able to abut when in the closing position. - In
figure 5b , on the other hand, the coupling is visible between the constrainingelement 5 of each second embodiment of thesupport profile 1 and therespective housing 55 obtained on thebase panel 53 and thecover panel 53. - According to another aspect of the invention, the article of
furniture 50 comprises atransverse panel 54 that is transverse to the base or coverpanel 53 and to thesupport profile 1 to bound a containing volume of the article of furniture V. Thetransverse panel 54 is arranged protruding from a vertical plane H interposed between thesupport profile 1 and the base or coverpanel 53. More precisely, thetransverse panel 54 protrudes for a length that is equal to the depth of thesupport profile 1 so that thedoor 52 abuts orthogonally to thesupport profile 1 and to thetransverse panel 54 when in the closing position. - Advantageously, the sliding
support 6 is installable on thetransverse panel 54 in such a manner that thesupport profile 1 can be slidingly hooked with thetransverse panel 54 owing to the presence of thelane 7. - Still more advantageously, the coupling between the sliding
support 6 and thelane 7 permits defining of a support for thesupport profile 1 and a correct alignment of the latter with thepanels furniture 50. According to one embodiment of the invention, the slidingdevice 6 comprises a drilled plate that is constrainable to thetransverse panel 54 with the interposing of at least one screw or nail or any fixingelement 10. Alternatively, on thetransverse panel 54 thecavity 57 is advantageously obtainable so as to permit shape coupling with the protrudingelement 17 of thecontainment casing 16 of the second embodiment of theprofile 1. With regard to an installation example of thesupport profile 1 inside an article offurniture 50, it derives directly from what is described above which is referred to below. For the first embodiment of the profile, reference will be made tofigures 1a ,1c and5a , whereas for the second embodiment of theprofile 1 reference will be made tofigures 2a ,2d and5b . - Generally, an article of
furniture 50 comprises at least one base or coverpanel 53 and at least one pair of transverse orlateral panels 54. Advantageously, eachsupport profile 1 is installable at any moment of assembly of such panels together. - In the case of an article of
furniture 50 provided with acover panel 53 and twoside panels 54, thesupport profile 1 is installable directly on thecover panel 53 before or after assembly of theside panels 54. - As a result of the use of the
support profile 1, thecover panel 53 and theside panels 54 will have a different depth and this difference will be the same as the depth of thesupport profile 1. - In addition, on the thickness of the cover panel 53 a
housing 55 has to be obtained beforehand, for example a slot, which is adapted to receive the constrainingelement 5 of thecrosspiece 2 to maintain thesupport profile 1 in position. - Lastly, on the
side panel 54 at the zone in which thetransverse surface 11 is superimposed of the crosspiece 2 (when the profile is installed on the assembled article of furniture 50), the sliding support 6 (fig. 1a ) has to be constrained beforehand or acavity 57 has to be obtained beforehand (fig. 2a ). - Once the article of
furniture 50 has been assembled, thesupport profile 1 is insertable by sliding between theside panels 54 owing to the presence of theside lane 7 as far as the complete insertion of the constrainingelement 5 into thehousing 55 of the cover panel 53 (fig. 1c ). - Alternatively, the
support profile 1 is connectable to the article offurniture 50 by sliding the constrainingelement 5 inside thehousing 55 and, at the same time, jointing the protrudingelement 17 inside thecavity 57. Accordingly, with reference to the second embodiment of theprofile 1, thecontainment casing 16 has to be inserted beforehand into thecrosspiece 2 through the opening present at thetransverse surface 11 and, preferably but not necessarily, constrained in a stable position by interposing fixing means between thehole 20 and the threadedbush 19. - At this point, at least one
hinge 51, preferably of the concealed type, is insertable into arespective seat 3 of the support profile 1 (and inside thecontainment casing 16, if present) and adoor 52 is connectable to the protruding portion of thehinge 51. - According to one aspect of the invention, if it is necessary to install more than one
door 52, the crosspiece can have a plurality ofseats 3, each useful for inserting aspecific hinge 51. Preferably, for eachcrosspiece 2 at most twoseats 3 are obtained that are placed specularly to one another at the ends of thesame crosspiece 2. - According to another aspect of the invention, if two
side panels 54 are present, on each side of the crosspiece 2 alane 7 is obtained that is couplable by sliding with a respective slidingsupport 6 installed on eachside panel 54. Alternatively, or if only oneside panel 54 is present, asingle lane 7 is obtained on eachcrosspiece 2. - Lastly, if the presence of a
gripping groove 12 on thesupport profile 1 is useful, before the latter is installed on the article offurniture 50 it is necessary to remove the part of the side wall of thecrosspiece 2 inside which the firstinner partition 13 and the secondinner partition 14 face one another. In this manner, the remaining part of thefirst surface portion 4 and the first and the secondinner partition gripping groove 12 for opening thedoor 52.
