Description

Verbindungselement zum Verbinden einer Warenbahn mit einer Wickelwelle Gegenstand der Erfindung ist ein Verbindungselement zum Verbinden einer Warenbahn mit einer Wickelwelle gemäss Oberbegriff des Patentanspruch 1.Connecting element for connecting a web of material to a winding shaft. The subject matter of the invention is a connecting element for connecting a web of material to a winding shaft according to the preamble of patent claim 1.

Awnings as sun and/or rain protection comprise a fabric strip that can be wound up on a winding shaft so that it can be protected and stored in a small space when not in use. Usually, a rod is inserted into a hemstitch in the edge of the fabric that is to be connected to the winding shaft, thereby forming a piping bead. Alternatively, a piping flag can be attached to the edge of the fabric, e.g. sewn on. To attach the edge of the fabric with the piping bead to the winding shaft, an axially running recess is attached to the latter under the casing surface as a piping rail, into which the piping can be inserted. The recess is usually approximately circular in cross-section and the recess is only connected to the surface of the winding shaft at a narrow point, so that after the fabric strip is pushed in, the fabric strip is held in the axial direction by the piping. Such connections between the fabric strip and the winding shaft are safe and relatively easy to handle.

The disadvantage of such a connection is the effort required to insert the piping, as it can only be inserted into the winding shaft from the front and the winding shaft must therefore be exposed at the end for insertion. A further disadvantage is that the fabric, for example an acrylic awning fabric, which can be 1 to 3 mm thick, is led radially out of the recess on the winding shaft and as a result, after the first wrap and further wraps during winding, the area of the awning that lies above the slot in the recess is slightly lifted and consequently this area is visible on the awning due to this bulge when it is extended. This leads to a negative appearance of the awning.

If the awning or its edge is screwed or riveted onto the shaft and pressed onto the surface of the shaft by a cover rod, the same negative appearance occurs, as this area also shows through on the awning once or several times.

From the EP 3 431 678 A1 Furthermore, an arrangement for connecting a web of material, in particular an awning, to a winding shaft is known. In this arrangement, a recess is set into the winding shaft, the base of which is designed as a circular arc section and on both side edges of which there are S-shaped Areas are formed so that the slot in the casing surface of the winding shaft is less wide than the base of the recess. The recess creates space for a click-in rod through a groove that is essentially T-shaped in cross-section, so that the rod does not protrude beyond the casing surface of the winding shaft, but can reach under the protruding edge areas of the slot with its side edges. In order to be able to insert the rod to which the awning is attached into the axially running recess, a groove is let into the underside of the rod so that the area of the rod outside the groove, which must be made of a relatively soft, flexible plastic material, can point back towards the recess or slot over its entire length when the rod is placed on top and simultaneously pressed together, thus shortening the width of the rod for a short time. After the rod has been pushed in radially, the area of the rod outside the groove pivots away from the groove again, holding the rod firmly within the recess. Furthermore, a hole is drilled into the rod along its long edge, which is connected to the surface of the rod by a slot. The piping on an awning must be laboriously pushed axially into this hole and thus held to the rod.

This arrangement allows a recessed arrangement of a rod holding the awning, but On the one hand, connecting the awning to the rod is complex because it has to be pushed into the rod along its entire length. For awnings that are several meters long, this can take up a lot of space and work. On the other hand, once the rod has been clipped into the recess in the winding shaft, it cannot be held securely in place because if there is increased pulling force on the awning, particularly if the recess on the winding shaft is further down rather than at the top, the rod will bend and the elastic holding area can be pulled out of the recess because, as we know, this has to be designed to be pivotable on the rod for insertion. On the one hand, the connection between the awning and the rod is therefore very complex, and on the other hand, the anchoring of the rod on the winding shaft is not guaranteed in every position after it has been mounted.

Out of EN 10 2018 103 796 A1 and US$ 5,384,941 Other solutions with elastic holding areas that can be pressed into recesses are known.

Furthermore, the CH 698 032 A winding shaft is known, in which an S-shaped holding area is attached along the edge of the awning, which has to be connected to the winding shaft. This engages in a circular hole in the winding shaft, which is connected to the surface by a slot. A secure hold of the awning is only guaranteed if the awning has already been wound around the winding shaft once and is above the S-shaped hook and presses it radially onto the winding shaft. This does not guarantee a secure hold.

A holding element is attached to the edge of the awning, the end of which is T-shaped and engages in a corresponding T-shaped groove in the winding shaft. An awning equipped in this way can only be inserted axially into the winding shaft. This means that in order to replace the awning, e.g. if it is damaged or when fitting a new sun protection system, the winding shaft has to be lifted out of its bearing, then the awning, e.g. a 6 m wide awning, has to be inserted and then the heavy winding shaft together with the unwound awning has to be moved up into the bearings for the shaft. Such an arrangement is very time-consuming during assembly (axial insertion and lifting of the heavy shaft with the awning on it and its subsequent installation on the top of a window or door opening).

An object of the present invention is to provide a connecting element for fastening or connecting the edge of a textile web to a winding shaft. create a system that, on the one hand, enables simple assembly, i.e., simple connection of the web of material to the winding shaft at its place of use, and also ensures a seamless transition from the winding shaft to the awning.

This object is achieved by a connecting element according to the features of patent claim 1. The connecting system according to the invention makes it possible to arrange the connecting area of the material web completely under the surface of the winding shaft, so that there is no step-like transition on the surface of the winding shaft and after the first wrap around the winding shaft by the material web, the area of the second winding layer of the material web that comes to lie above the connecting area is not pushed radially outwards, but comes to lie within the curved course of the surface of the winding shaft. The transition that takes place from the first wrap to the second is therefore stepless without the formation of a bead. This is achieved by a hanging profile bar that is connected on one side to the edge area of the material web and that can be inserted completely into a recess under the surface of the winding shaft and fastened there so that it can be snapped in. The system is very advantageous and time-saving because the hanging profile bar with the material web is radially attached to the winding shaft and can be hung and locked into a recess in its outer surface without tools. Axial displacement during use is not necessary because the hanging profile bar locks into the recess. Dismantling the winding shaft to insert the connecting element is therefore no longer necessary. The hanging profile bar can be connected directly to the edge area of the web in a simple and cost-effective manner by making the connection using ultrasonic welding or gluing. In addition, no seam needs to be attached to the edge of the web; instead, the cut edge can be attached to the hanging profile bar without any further post-treatment. Alternatively, in an advantageous embodiment, a transition element can be attached to the edge of the web in advance, which in turn is connected to the hanging profile bar. The transition element improves the smooth entry of the web from the recess into the outer surface of the winding shaft.

The recess can be made very easily on the winding shaft. The recess has a slot that is very wide in relation to its depth, which allows the hanging profile bar to be inserted in a radial direction and does not require the winding shaft to be dismantled in order to be inserted axially, as was previously the case.

The seam that had to be formed on the fabric web with a rod arranged in it to form a The piping bead as a fastening element on the winding shaft is no longer required. The hanging profile bar can be attached directly to the cut, uncleaned edge of the material web with little effort by gluing or ultrasonic welding. In the preferred design of the system, the uncleaned front edge of the material web is connected to a connecting tape by welding or gluing. The connecting tape is in turn also connected to the hanging profile bar by gluing or welding. This allows the hanging profile bar to be inserted completely into the slot-shaped recess and no parts protrude beyond the surface of the winding shaft. If a connecting tape is also inserted between the material web and the hanging profile bar, a completely seamless connection between the winding shaft and the material web can be achieved. The hanging profile bar and the connecting tape, which are preferably made of a softer material than the profile bar, can also be made as one piece, meaning that only one connection to the edge of the material needs to be made. If a fabric strip of an awning needs to be replaced after years due to a defect, the fabric strip can be pushed out of the recess with the attached hanging profile rod without dismantling the winding shaft and replaced with a new or repaired fabric strip.

In Figure 1 Reference number 1 designates a system for connecting a web of material 3, e.g. the material for an awning, to a winding shaft 5. The manually or electrically driven winding shaft 5 has a circular cross-section with a jacket surface 7.

The winding shaft 5 is preferably made of aluminum profile. At the top of the winding shaft 5 in Figure 2 a recess 9 is visible under the casing surface 7, above which an axially extending slot 11 ( Fig.6 ) with a width b in the casing surface 7. The width b of the slot 11 can have an extension in the circumferential direction up to the dimension of the radius r of the winding shaft 1. Of course - depending on the diameter of the winding shaft 5 - a much smaller opening width b can also be selected.

The recess 9 has in cross-section the shape of a T-slot or, as shown in the figures, a flattened C lying on its back, the back 13 of which can be slightly radially convexly curved outwards,

Fig. 1,2,6).i.e. approximately parallel to the missing area in the jacket surface 7 above the slot 11. The recess 9 has an inner width B. The two transitions from the jacket surface 7 into the back 13 run approximately in the shape of semicircles directed towards each other (cf. Fig. 1,2 , 6 ).

The recess 9 serves in the system to accommodate a suspension profile bar 17. In cross section, the Hanging profile bar 17 has the shape of an upside down T with a bottom surface 19, the convex curvature of which can correspond to the back 13 in the recess 9 on the winding shaft 5. A contact surface 21 on the body of the hanging profile bar 17 opposite the bottom surface 19 serves to receive and connect a connecting strip 23 or directly to the edge area of the web 3. The connecting strip 23 as part of the profile bar 17 serves to permanently connect the front edge area of the web 3 to the hanging profile bar 17. The connecting strip 23 has in Figure 4 on the right-hand side on its radially outer surface a step 25, so that the surface of a material web 3 fastened in the thinner region 23' on the connecting belt 23 merges smoothly or without a step into the outer surface 27 of the connecting belt 23. The connecting belt 23 and a front edge of a material web 3 fastened thereto therefore lie in a common convexly curved surface.

The connecting band 23 can be inserted at its left free end into Figure 4 have a greater wall thickness than in the adjacent section in contact with the suspension profile bar 17. The connection between the suspension profile bar 17 and the connecting strip 23 can be made by gluing or, as shown in the example, by ultrasonic welding, which creates an insignificant indentation in the welding area 29. connecting strip 23 and possibly also in the contact surface 21 of the suspension profile bar 17.

The suspension profile bar 17 is stepped at both ends so that the upper contact surface 21 is shorter than the lower base surface 19.

The first step-shaped section 31 of the suspension profile bar 17 receives the thicker end of the connecting strip 23 on the left side and is longer than the second step-shaped section 33 on the right side in the Figures 3 and 5 .

Durch diese Massnahme gelangt die Oberfläche 27 des Anschlussbandes 23 stufenlos in die Manteloberfläche 7 der Wickelwelle 5.The thickness c 1 of the suspension profile bar 17 following the first step-shaped section 31 is smaller than the thickness c 2 before the second step-shaped section 33. This measure allows the surface 27 of the connecting strip 23 to pass seamlessly into the casing surface 7 of the winding shaft 5.

In order to achieve an optimal permanent connection between the hanging profile bar 17 and the connecting band 23 at the contact surface 21, these are made of an ultrasonically weldable material or of materials that can be optimally and permanently bonded together. The connecting band 23 is preferably made of a plastic that is more flexible, softer and more compressible than the harder and therefore stiffer material of the hanging profile bar 17. The hanging profile bar 17 and the connecting band 23 can also be made in one piece, e.g. by means of a Extrusion process or a two-component injection molding process, so that subsequent gluing or welding of the two elements together is no longer necessary.

The following describes how the connection between the winding shaft 5 and the hanging profile bar 17 with the connecting tape 23 attached to it and the material web 3 attached to it in the first embodiment works. After cutting/assembling a material web 3 for an awning, its front edge or the front edge area is connected to the shoulder 25 on the connecting tape 23 so that it abuts against it. The connection can be made by gluing or by ultrasonic welding, which permanently connects the two materials, namely the material web 3 and the connecting tape 23. The material web 3 prepared in this way with the connecting tape 23 attached to it is now connected to the hanging profile bar 17. This connection can also be made by gluing or ultrasonic welding. Of course, the hanging profile bar 17 could also be connected to the connecting tape 23 first and only then the material web 3 attached to the connecting tape 23.

Figur 1).The awning prepared in this way can now be attached to the winding shaft 5, which is rotatably mounted in the lintel of a window or door opening or in a weatherproof housing and can be manually or motor drive. To do this, it is not necessary to detach the winding shaft 5 from its suspension and drive, but the suspension profile bar 17 is inserted into the recess 9 with its stepped shoulder 31 at the front, i.e. on the left-hand side in the figures, essentially at an acute angle to the casing surface in the direction of arrow F. The first stepped section 31 engages under the semicircular area 15 of the recess 9. When inserting, the thickened end of the connecting band 23 can be pushed back or pushed back slightly, since it is preferably made of a softer material than the central area of the profile bar 17. As soon as the first step-shaped section 31 is inserted and pushed under the semicircular edge of the recess 9, the suspension profile bar 17 is pivoted in the direction of the arrow P (clockwise) and then comes with its bottom surface 19 into contact with the back 13 of the recess 9 (cf. Figure 1 ).

As soon as the winding shaft 5 is rotated in an anti-clockwise direction, the web 3 is pressed radially against the surface 7 of the winding shaft 5 and the hanging profile bar 17 or its second step-shaped section 33 is drawn into the circular edge area of the recess 9. The first step-shaped section 31 remains radially held in the curved section of the recess 9 (left side). The clockwise insertion is additionally supported by the tensioning force of the compressed soft end of the connecting band 23. The suspension profile bar 17 now lies, almost filling the recess 9, held at both edges in the recess 9. The surface 27 of the connecting band 23 and the outer surface of the web of material 3 lie in a seamless, essentially circular path in the casing surface 7 of the winding shaft 5.

In a further embodiment of the invention according to the Figures 7 to 9 the suspension profile bar 17' is designed as a unit with the connecting band 23" and can thus be manufactured in one piece from two components of different hardness and is referred to as a connecting element 35. The connecting element 35 comprises a first step-shaped section 31 and a second step-shaped section 33. Furthermore, a resilient nose 37 is formed on the first step-shaped section 31 and on the opposite side above the second step-shaped section 33 there is a connecting band section 23' also made of a softer material than the central part of the connecting element 35. The base body of the connecting element 35 is preferably made of a plastic material with greater strength and above all higher rigidity than the nose 37 and the section 23' of the connecting band 23. The connecting element is manufactured using an injection molding process with two different plastic components. The two components, namely the rigid one for the base body and the elastically deformable one for the nose 37, and optionally also for the section 23', are therefore inseparably connected.

The connection of the web 3 with the section of the connecting tape 23' outside the shoulder 25, which has a lower strength or thickness and preferably high elasticity, serves as the connection area of the connecting element 35 with the web 3. The connection is made either by gluing with an adhesive, by mutual bonding by heat or by ultrasonic welding.

The functionality of the connection between the winding shaft 5 and the suspension profile bar 17 with the web of material 3 of the second embodiment attached thereto is described below.

After cutting/assembling the web 3, its front edge is placed on the shoulder 25 of the connection area 23' and connected to the connection area 23' by an adhesive, thermal fusion or ultrasonic welding. The connection of the web 3 with the connecting element 35 can preferably already in the premises of the awning manufacturer or at the place of use shortly before the fabric web 3 is attached to the winding shaft 5.

The web 3 attached to the connecting element 35 is then, as in Figure 2 of the first embodiment, on site, ie on the winding shaft already attached to a building. The fitter introduces the first step-shaped section 31 on the suspension profile bar (17) at an acute angle to the surface of the casing of the winding shaft 5 under the semicircular recess 15 in the recess 9 on the winding shaft 5. Now the elastic nose 37, which extends as a rib over the entire length of the connecting element 15 or over at least several partial lengths, comes into contact with the casing 7 of the winding shaft 5. By applying slight pressure in the direction of the force F in Figure 2 it pushes the first step-shaped section 31 completely into the semicircular recess until the second step-shaped section 33 comes into contact with the back 13 of the recess 9 by pivoting the suspension profile bar 17 clockwise. As soon as the force F on the suspension profile bar 17 is removed, the connecting element 35 moves clockwise due to the force of the elastically tensioned nose 37 and reaches with its second step-shaped section 33 under the semicircular area of the recess 9 on the right side. The suspension profile bar 17 is thus in the Recess 9 is anchored. As soon as the winding shaft 5 is rotated in an anti-clockwise direction in order to be able to wind up the web of material 3, the connecting element 35 is additionally displaced as far as it will go in the recess 9, unless the force of the nose 37 has already displaced the connecting element 35 completely in a clockwise direction.

If an awning or the fabric web 3 has to be replaced in the event of damage, it can be removed in the reverse order without dismantling the winding shaft 5.
