The present invention relates to a multi-segment seal, each segment
  • at least one holding device,
  • a sealing strip comprising a retaining strip and a sealing profile and
  • a mechanism
    having,
  • wherein the mechanism of each of the segments connects the at least one holding means and the sealing strip of the same segment to one another, the sealing strip can be displaced transversely to its main extent relative to the at least one holding means by means of the mechanism,
  • wherein the seal has connectors which connect the retaining strips of the sealing strips of adjacent segments to one another, for which purpose the connectors are inserted into ends of the retaining strips of the sealing strips of adjacent segments, and
  • each connector having two male portions which are inserted into respective ends of the retaining strips.

From the document U.S. 5,454,192 A a seal with the aforementioned features is known. Because the seal is made up of several segments, it is possible to lengthen the seal, for example to seal the gap between a goal and the floor. The sealing strips of the segments of this seal are connected to one another by the connectors. The plug-in sections are plugged into the ends of the holding strips. The ends of the retaining strips butt against one another at the front, so that a compressive force can also be transmitted from one retaining profile to the next retaining profile.

That's with the one in the document U.S. 5,454,192 A shown seal necessary to lower all sealing strips to enable reliably. On the other hand, it is also useful to avoid an offset between adjacent sealing strips. A vertical offset of adjacent sealing strips can lead to areas in which the sealing profiles do not lie tightly on the floor, for example. There may also be gaps between the sealing profiles of adjacent sealing strips, for example if the sealing strips are offset from one another transversely to their main direction of extent or the sealing profiles do not abut one another after actuation in the main direction of extent of the sealing strip and therefore do not lie tightly against one another.

The ones in the document U.S. 5,454,192 A The seal shown has a very simple mechanism with which the sealing strips can be moved relative to the holding means. The sealing strips that are connected to one another are greatly offset in relation to the holding means when they are lowered. So that this does not result in a gap that is not sealed at the end of the seal into which the sealing strip is not placed, the seal or the segments of the seal are designed in such a way that the sealing strip fills the gap between the Door leaf to which the seal is attached and can seal the floor at any point. In the non-lowered state, on the other hand, the sealing strip protrudes laterally very far beyond the holding means and also the door leaf. This can lead to problems with a swing door if the sealing strip hits a door frame of the door when it is closed.

The overhang of the sealing strip should therefore not be too large. Preferably, at least the retaining bar even jumps back behind the door leaf, so that any risk of the door frame hitting or grazing with the retaining bar is avoided. The holding strip would then be shorter than the segment of the seal all in all. Since the segments of the seal are preferably of the same design in order to use as many identical parts as possible, this means that it is not possible for the retaining strips of adjacent segments to directly abut one another if the retaining strips are set back.

Ultimately, this can lead to limitations in the connection of the retaining strips of adjacent segments and/or in the transmission of force, for example the force required for lowering between the retaining strips of adjacent segments.

Hier setzt die vorliegende Erfindung an.This is where the present invention comes in.

The present invention is based on the problem that, despite the retaining strip springing back behind the ends of the length of the sealing segments determined by the retaining means, a firm and resilient connection between the retaining strips of adjacent segments is possible.

This problem is solved according to the invention in that each connector has a collar arranged between the plug-in sections in the main direction of extent of the sealing strip, the collar at least partially protruding beyond the plug-in sections in a plane perpendicular to the direction of main extent of the sealing strip.

The collar provided according to the invention makes it possible for the retaining strips of adjacent segments to be connected to one another in such a way that forces can be easily transferred from one retaining strip.

The distance between the retaining strips of two adjacent segments of the seal is preferably at least partially or completely filled by the collar of the connector inserted into these retaining strips.

According to the invention, in the main direction of extension of the sealing strip, the retaining strip of each segment can be set back relative to the sealing profile of the segment. Conversely, this means that the sealing profile can protrude beyond the retaining strip. This is particularly useful for a gapless seal at the ends of the seals located in the main direction of extension of the sealing strips, but also at the individual seal segments.

The collar is preferably designed in such a way that a joint between the two sealing profiles fastened to the retaining strips is backed by the collar of the connector inserted into these retaining strips. The sealing profiles of the two adjacent segments can rest against the collar, in particular when the seal is in a lowered state. As a result, the sealing profiles can be sealed off from the collar, even if the sealing profiles do not abut one another without a gap. It is even possible that the sealing profiles are connected to the collar in the area of the joint. For example, the sealing profiles can be glued to the collar.

Each retaining strip of a segment of a seal according to the invention has at least one channel into which a retaining web of the sealing profile is inserted. In this case, each connector can have at least one recess which continues the channels of the adjacent retaining strips and connects them to one another. sections of the Retaining webs of the sealing profiles can be fastened in the at least one recess of the connector. The plug-in sections of at least one of the connectors, but if possible all of the connectors of a seal according to the invention, can taper from the collar to their free ends. The tapered ends make it easier to insert the plug-in sections into the holding strips. This preferably also makes it easier to fasten the plug-in section in the connector in a positive and also non-positive manner.

The one in the 1 seal 1 shown is composed of two identical seal segments 1, 2. The sealing segment 2 is shown in more detail in the other figures. The sealing segment 2 has a housing provided as a holding means 21 with which the seal D can be fastened in or on a gate. A mechanism 24 is provided in the housing. This mechanism 24 connects a sealing strip 22, 23 to the housing 21 in such a way that the sealing strip 22, 23 can be displaced relative to the housing 21 transversely to its main direction of extension. The mechanism can be implemented in a manner known in the prior art.

The movement of the sealing strips 22, 23 of the segments 1, 2 out of the housing can be triggered by a force on a trigger of the first segment 1. For this purpose, the mechanisms 24 of the segments are coupled to one another. If the trigger is released, the sealing strip 22, 23 is moved into the housing 21 by the mechanisms 24. In the European patent application 18 186 115.4 is shown as an example of how the mechanisms 24 of the segments 1, 2 can be constructed, how they work and how they are coupled to one another.

The sealing strips 22, 23 have a holding strip 23 and a sealing profile 24.

The retaining strip 23 of the sealing strip 22, 23 of each segment can be an extruded profile, in particular an aluminum extruded profile. The retaining bar is essentially U-shaped and has a web 232 with the ends of the web 232 adjoining legs. In the region of the connection between the legs 234 and the web 232, the holding strip 23 has a channel 231 into which the holding webs 221 of the sealing profiles 22 are inserted. Furthermore, another channel 236 is formed by inwardly projecting webs 235, in which parts of the mechanism 24 of the segment 1, 2 are arranged.

The sealing profiles 22 of the sealing strip 22, 23 of the segments are made of an elastic material, are essentially U-shaped and have a web 222 and legs 221 adjoining the ends of the web 222. The sealing profiles 22 are slightly longer than the retaining strips 23 in the main extension direction. The sealing profiles 22 and the retaining strips 23 are arranged relative to one another such that the sealing profiles 22 overlap the ends of the retaining strips 23 to which they are attached.

So that the adjacent ends of the sealing strips 22 , 23 of adjacent segments 1 , 2 can be moved relative to one another without being offset, provision is made for the sealing strips 22 , 23 to be connected to one another by means of a connector 3 . The connectors 3 have two plug-in sections 32 which are plugged into the holding strips 23 . The outer profile of the plug-in sections is complementary to the clear inner profile of the holding strips 23. The plug-in sections 32 are inserted into the channels 236 and the spaces located above them between the legs 221 of the holding strips 22. Between the plug-in sections 32, the connector 3 has a collar which protrudes beyond the plug-in sections 32 transversely to the main direction of extension of the sealing strips 22, 23. Starting from the collar 31, the plug-in sections 32 taper slightly. On the one hand, this makes it easier to insert the plug-in sections 32 into the holding strips 22. On the other hand, it makes it easier, despite the tolerances of the connector 3 and the Retaining strips 22 a positive and non-positive connection between the connectors 3 and the retaining strips.

The collar 31 has in part, in particular on its side surfaces 312, the same external profile as the retaining strips 23. In particular, the collar has a recess 311 in each of the side surfaces 312, which forms a continuation of the channels 231, into which the retaining webs 221 of the areas of the sealing profiles 22 are inserted, which protrude beyond the retaining strips 23. The ends of the sealing profiles 22 are fastened to the connectors 3 as a result.

On the other hand, on its underside 313, the collar 31 protrudes beyond the retaining strips 23. When the sealing strips 22, 23 including the sealing profiles 22 move against an opposing surface, this underside 313 is pressed from the inside against the point at which the sealing profiles of the sealing strips connected via the connector 31 22, 23 abut. The underside 313 thus presses on the sealing profiles from the inside and seals against the sealing profiles, and on the other hand the underside 313 presses the sealing profiles 22 against the opposing surface, so that the sealing profiles 22 also seal against the opposing surface. Although there may be a gap between the sealing profiles 22 of the adjacent sealing strips 22, 23 due to tolerances and other reasons at the joint, this can be sealed by the underside 313 protruding beyond the retaining strips 23 as long as the gap is in the area of the collar.
