Definitions
- the present invention relates to a flushing device which has a flushing valve and can be connected to a drinking water system for flushing at least one water line.
- a drinking water system a drinking and industrial water system with a connection to the public water supply network is generally implemented, which has at least one supply line leading to a consumer.
- the connection to the public water supply network preferably has a water meter and at least one shut-off valve and is generally provided in a building at basement level.
- the flushing device furthermore has a control line connected to the flushing valve for control purposes and a control device controlling a position of the flushing valve by means of the control line for flushing the water line depending on time and / or water temperature and / or water consumption.
- the flushing device can be arranged such that the flushing valve is arranged downstream of the consumer in the direction of flow.
- Such a flushing device is based on the applicant's DE 20 2008 002 822 U1 known.
- the previously known flushing device is connected to a drinking and process water system, which has a connection to the public water supply network, for example in the basement of a building. Via this connection, several supply lines for the supply of various water consumers within the building are supplied with fresh water. If there is no water withdrawal by a consumer, stale water in the supply lines can be exchanged by opening a flushing valve and supplying fresh water from the water supply network. Such an exchange of stale water is commonly referred to as rinsing or rinsing. The water flowing out of the water system via the flushing valve is drained into a sewer line.
- the flushing valve is provided at one end of the supply line or supply lines and is connected in terms of control to a central control device.
- the position of the flushing valve can be checked by the central control device by means of a control line.
- Automated flushing processes can be programmed via a time module integrated in the central control device.
- a water temperature measured via a temperature sensor can be transmitted to the central control device. The period of the rinsing cycles can be adjusted depending on the measured temperature.
- a flow sensor can be provided which measures the flow rate determined on the basis of which the central control device decides whether a flushing process is necessary. A leak can be detected using a pressure sensor. The central control device then isolates the water system from the public water supply network and empties the system by holding the flush valve in the open position.
- a drinking water pipe remains unused for a longer period of time, the temperature of the water in it will adjust to the ambient temperature.
- a thermal equilibrium is established between the environment and the drinking water pipe.
- the ambient temperature relevant for the drinking water pipeline is significantly higher than the room temperature, whereby the formation of germs such as legionella is favored in this area. Flushing the drinking water line is then necessary with a view to drinking water hygiene.
- the present invention provides a flushing device with the features of claim 1.
- the control device of the flushing device according to the invention is set up to be adapted for time-dependent and / or water temperature-dependent and / or water consumption-dependent flushing. How out DE 20 2008 002 822 U1 known, this can be realized by a time module, which specifies rinsing processes at specific times or time intervals, and / or measuring the water temperature in the water pipe and / or measuring a flow rate through the water pipe, the measured values usually being evaluated in the control device and flow into the control of the rinsing.
- the flushing valve can generally be set by means of a servomotor which is coupled to the control line.
- the flushing device is also adapted to control the flushing depending on the water pressure.
- Controlling the flushing in the sense of the present invention is understood in particular to be the opening and closing of the flushing valve.
- a decision not to open or block the rinsing valve under certain circumstances can generally also be regarded as a control in the sense of the invention.
- a means is preferably provided which, in the case of certain water pressure conditions in the system, prevents water from flowing out of the system via the flushing valve, even when it opens.
- a drinking and process water system can thus be flushed as efficiently as possible with the aid of the flushing device according to the invention.
- flushing can be omitted if a tapping process of a consumer is noticeable through a change in the water pressure in the system.
- a fluctuation in the water pressure due to rinsing during consumption, which may result in a loss of comfort for the consumer, can thus be avoided.
- the control device has a mechanical, hydraulic and / or electronic control element and controls the flushing in such a way that the flushing does not take place if the control element detects a reduced water pressure in the water system.
- the control element usually includes an element that changes a position or a state depending on the pressure or measures the pressure quantitatively.
- Lowered water pressure is generally understood to mean a water pressure which is lower than the water pressure with the water system connected to the water supply and with closed consumer valves and closed flushing valve; that is, with water in the connected water system. Certain pressure fluctuations, for example caused by minor leaks, do not usually lead to a significant drop in water pressure.
- a lowered water pressure of the water system is to be understood as a lowered water pressure caused by a tap process by a consumer, which no longer guarantees an adequate supply to other tapping points.
- the absolute value for a reduced pressure varies. It is usually 2 bar, 1 bar or 0.5 bar.
- the pressure should not fall below the minimum flow pressure, which can be seen as a criterion for the purging being suspended.
- the flushing device is particularly suitable for use in laboratories and production plants in which people can come into contact with splashing, caustic or hot chemicals and can clean themselves with the aid of an emergency shower. This is how it can be prevented that an additional rinsing process is triggered during an emergency and the operation of the emergency shower, which would lead to an insufficient supply of the emergency shower.
- the flushing device has a mechanically pretensioned check valve upstream of the flushing valve as a control element, which opens in the direction of the flushing valve.
- the check valve is usually biased in such a way that it remains in a closed position when the water pressure in the water system is lowered, so that water from the water system does not reach the flushing valve. In this way, it can be ensured in a simple manner that there is no flushing when the pressure of the water system is reduced.
- the flushing device has a pressure sensor upstream of the flushing valve as a control element and a control unit communicating with the pressure sensor and connected to the flushing valve for control purposes, the control unit being set up in such a way that the flushing valve is based on a signal from the pressure sensor is de-energized or blocked.
- the control unit is preferably part of the control device.
- the pressure sensor is preferably designed as a pressure switch or a pressure measuring device that quantitatively detects the water pressure.
- the control unit usually contains logic for evaluating signals and outputting control commands.
- Pressure switches are mechanical or electronic switches that are actuated by changing the pressure of a gaseous or liquid medium.
- the most common implementation of a mechanical pressure switch has a metal membrane, which closes a switching contact at a certain deflection and whose deflection is pressure-dependent. When the switch contact closes, a signal is sent to the control unit.
- the flushing valve is moved from the closed position into the open position by the control device by means of a control line posed.
- the control line can be temporarily disconnected from the power supply by the control device.
- a mechanical blocking element that can be controlled by the control unit and that fixes the position of the flushing valve in the closed position is also conceivable.
- the flushing device according to the present invention has both a pressure switch and a pressure measuring device.
- the flushing device has means for coupling the position of a valve assigned to a consumer with the position of the flushing valve, the coupling being designed such that opening the valve assigned to the consumer causes the flushing valve to close.
- the coupling is preferably electronic.
- a mechanical coupling is also conceivable.
- the present invention provides a drinking and industrial water system with a connection to the public water supply network, a water pipe leading to at least one consumer and a flushing device according to claim 1, the flushing valve of the flushing device being arranged downstream of the consumer in the direction of flow
- the drinking and process water system is provided in a residential, industrial or office building, hospital or hotel.
- the drinking and process water system according to the invention can be provided in a laboratory or a manufacturing plant.
- the control device of the drinking and industrial water system according to the present invention is preferably set up in such a way that flushing does not occur when the water pressure in the water line is reduced.
- the drinking and industrial water system according to the present invention is further preferably designed according to one or more of these further developments discussed in connection with the flushing device.
- the Fig. 1a shows a drinking and industrial water system with a connection 2 to the public water supply network, via which a supply line 4 is fed with fresh water, preferably cold water.
- a supply line 4 is fed with fresh water, preferably cold water.
- Two consumers are connected to the supply line 4, which in the exemplary embodiments are implemented as an emergency shower 6a for the entire body and an eye shower 6b.
- a rinsing valve 8 is arranged downstream of the last consumer in the direction of flow, ie downstream of the eye shower 6b, by means of which water in the supply line 4 can be drained off and fresh water flows in via the connection 2.
- the flushing valve drains off into a sewage pipe via a free outlet 10.
- the free drain 10 includes a drop section that is directly connected to the ambient atmosphere, so that the legal requirements for the separation of drinking water and waste water or industrial water are met.
- the flushing valve 8 is coupled in terms of control to a control unit 22 via a control line 24, a time module being integrated in the control unit 22, which causes the control unit 22 at certain times to activate the flushing valve 8 for a flushing process by means of a servomotor 28 coupled to the control line 24 to open.
- a sensor 30 is provided in the supply line 4 and connected to the control unit 22 for signal transmission.
- Sensor 30 may be a temperature or flow rate sensor.
- several sensors in particular at least one water temperature sensor and at least one flow rate sensor, can also be provided.
- the measured values of the sensor or sensors are evaluated in the control unit 22 and flow into the control of the flushing valve 8. For example, in the event of a measured temperature rise, the time intervals between those of the time module predetermined flushing processes can be shortened or increased with a measured increase in the flow rate.
- a mechanically prestressed check valve 12 is arranged in the line section upstream of the flushing valve 8 in the flow direction.
- the check valve 12 is in the enlarged view of the circled detail D of the drinking and process water system in Fig. 1b can be seen in which a valve seat 14 and a spring-loaded valve body 16 are shown schematically.
- the spring preload is set such that when the emergency shower 6a is open or the eye shower 6b is open and the water pressure in the supply line 4 is lowered, the valve body 16 bears against the valve seat 14. In this case, no flushing process takes place, even if the flushing valve 8 should open by appropriate control of the control unit 22.
- connection 2 is open and the emergency shower 6a and the eye shower 6b are closed, the valve body 16 is pressed into an open position against the spring force by the water pressure in the supply line 4, so that by opening the flushing valve 8 by appropriate control of the control unit 22, an exchange of in the supply line 4 standing water is possible.
- a shut-off valve for maintenance purposes is identified by reference numeral 18, with which the area downstream of the valve 18 can be depressurized.

- the person skilled in the art is familiar with various pressure measuring devices which are suitable for measuring a water pressure in a line and at least one of which is used in the exemplary embodiment.
- the control unit 22 evaluates the measurement signals with the aid of an integrated logic, generally compares the measurement variables with a preset reference value and brings the pressure valve 8 into the closed position at a reduced pressure and / or disconnects the control line 24 from the power supply to the flushing valve 8 in the closed position or blocks the flush valve 8 in the closed position, for example with the aid of a mechanical blocking element.

Description
The previously known flushing device is connected to a drinking and process water system, which has a connection to the public water supply network, for example in the basement of a building. The flushing valve is provided at one end of the supply line or supply lines and is connected in terms of control to a central control device. In particular, the position of the flushing valve can be checked by the central control device by means of a control line. Automated flushing processes can be programmed via a time module integrated in the central control device. In addition, a water temperature measured via a temperature sensor can be transmitted to the central control device. The period of the rinsing cycles can be adjusted depending on the measured temperature. In addition, a flow sensor can be provided which measures the flow rate determined on the basis of which the central control device decides whether a flushing process is necessary. A leak can be detected using a pressure sensor. The central control device then isolates the water system from the public water supply network and empties the system by holding the flush valve in the open position.
If a drinking water pipe remains unused for a longer period of time, the temperature of the water in it will adjust to the ambient temperature. A thermal equilibrium is established between the environment and the drinking water pipe. Depending on the type of installation, the ambient temperature relevant for the drinking water pipeline is significantly higher than the room temperature, whereby the formation of germs such as legionella is favored in this area. Flushing the drinking water line is then necessary with a view to drinking water hygiene.
The prior art offers room for improvement in terms of washing efficiency.
It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a rinsing device which enables efficient rinsing and with which the hygienic requirements for a drinking water system can be met.
To solve this problem, the present invention provides a flushing device with the features of claim 1.
The flushing device according to the invention is also adapted to control the flushing depending on the water pressure. Controlling the flushing in the sense of the present invention is understood in particular to be the opening and closing of the flushing valve. However, a decision not to open or block the rinsing valve under certain circumstances can generally also be regarded as a control in the sense of the invention. A means is preferably provided which, in the case of certain water pressure conditions in the system, prevents water from flowing out of the system via the flushing valve, even when it opens.
A drinking and process water system can thus be flushed as efficiently as possible with the aid of the flushing device according to the invention. In particular, flushing can be omitted if a tapping process of a consumer is noticeable through a change in the water pressure in the system. A fluctuation in the water pressure due to rinsing during consumption, which may result in a loss of comfort for the consumer, can thus be avoided.
According to a preferred development of the present invention, the control device has a mechanical, hydraulic and / or electronic control element and controls the flushing in such a way that the flushing does not take place if the control element detects a reduced water pressure in the water system. The control element usually includes an element that changes a position or a state depending on the pressure or measures the pressure quantitatively. Lowered water pressure is generally understood to mean a water pressure which is lower than the water pressure with the water system connected to the water supply and with closed consumer valves and closed flushing valve; that is, with water in the connected water system. Certain pressure fluctuations, for example caused by minor leaks, do not usually lead to a significant drop in water pressure. As a rule, a lowered water pressure of the water system is to be understood as a lowered water pressure caused by a tap process by a consumer, which no longer guarantees an adequate supply to other tapping points. Depending on the sampling point under consideration, the absolute value for a reduced pressure varies. It is usually 2 bar, 1 bar or 0.5 bar. For the consumer in question, the pressure should not fall below the minimum flow pressure, which can be seen as a criterion for the purging being suspended.
The flushing device according to this further development is particularly suitable for use in laboratories and production plants in which people can come into contact with splashing, caustic or hot chemicals and can clean themselves with the aid of an emergency shower. This is how it can be prevented that an additional rinsing process is triggered during an emergency and the operation of the emergency shower, which would lead to an insufficient supply of the emergency shower.
According to a further preferred development of the present invention, the flushing device has a mechanically pretensioned check valve upstream of the flushing valve as a control element, which opens in the direction of the flushing valve. The check valve is usually biased in such a way that it remains in a closed position when the water pressure in the water system is lowered, so that water from the water system does not reach the flushing valve. In this way, it can be ensured in a simple manner that there is no flushing when the pressure of the water system is reduced.
According to a further preferred development of the present invention, the flushing device has a pressure sensor upstream of the flushing valve as a control element and a control unit communicating with the pressure sensor and connected to the flushing valve for control purposes, the control unit being set up in such a way that the flushing valve is based on a signal from the pressure sensor is de-energized or blocked. The control unit is preferably part of the control device. The pressure sensor is preferably designed as a pressure switch or a pressure measuring device that quantitatively detects the water pressure.
The control unit usually contains logic for evaluating signals and outputting control commands. Pressure switches are mechanical or electronic switches that are actuated by changing the pressure of a gaseous or liquid medium. The most common implementation of a mechanical pressure switch has a metal membrane, which closes a switching contact at a certain deflection and whose deflection is pressure-dependent. When the switch contact closes, a signal is sent to the control unit. As is known from the prior art, the flushing valve is moved from the closed position into the open position by the control device by means of a control line posed. The control line can be temporarily disconnected from the power supply by the control device. To block the flushing valve, a mechanical blocking element that can be controlled by the control unit and that fixes the position of the flushing valve in the closed position is also conceivable.
More preferably, the flushing device according to the present invention has both a pressure switch and a pressure measuring device.
According to a further preferred development of the present invention, the flushing device has means for coupling the position of a valve assigned to a consumer with the position of the flushing valve, the coupling being designed such that opening the valve assigned to the consumer causes the flushing valve to close. The coupling is preferably electronic. A mechanical coupling is also conceivable.
Undersupply of an emergency shower can also be counteracted.
In a secondary aspect, the present invention provides a drinking and industrial water system with a connection to the public water supply network, a water pipe leading to at least one consumer and a flushing device according to claim 1, the flushing valve of the flushing device being arranged downstream of the consumer in the direction of flow As a rule, the drinking and process water system is provided in a residential, industrial or office building, hospital or hotel. In particular, the drinking and process water system according to the invention can be provided in a laboratory or a manufacturing plant.
The control device of the drinking and industrial water system according to the present invention is preferably set up in such a way that flushing does not occur when the water pressure in the water line is reduced. The drinking and industrial water system according to the present invention is further preferably designed according to one or more of these further developments discussed in connection with the flushing device.
