Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a timepiece, in particular a pocket watch, equipped with at least one cover which hides, for example, a dial above which a set of hands moves.
  • a timepiece of the type indicated above is for example known from the Swiss patent CH 689338 A5 on behalf of Patek . More precisely, the timepiece described in the Patek patent is a pocket watch provided with a cover on each of its faces, these covers being able to both be opened using a controlled mechanism by a stud sliding axially in the crown.
  • the principle of the Patek mechanism for opening two top and bottom covers of a pocket watch is to use an actuating pad which, depending on the angular position occupied by the pendant, causes the opening of the one or the other of these two lids.
  • the pendant In a first position, the pendant is in the high position, blocked angularly, and if the user exerts pressure on the stud, it causes the top cover of the wristwatch to open. From this position, if the user moves the pendant slightly towards the middle, the pendant is angularly unlocked and the user can pivot this pendant in a direction of 180°.
  • the pendant has rotated 180°, the user releases the pendant which moves axially under a return action and returns to the high locked position but 180° from its first blocked position. In this second locking position of the pendant, the user can cause the bottom cover to open by pushing on the actuation stud.
  • the Patek pocket watch includes a cover on each of its faces, a pendant and a winding and time-setting mechanism comprising a crown, a barrel and a cylindrical winding stem.
  • the lid opening mechanism comprises an actuating stud which slides axially in the winding crown and which, via sliding rods guided by the winding mechanism, acts on locks which normally hold the lids in place. closed position.
  • the Patek mechanism avoids the risk of scratching the watch case if you use a knife to open one of the two covers, or of breaking a nail because snapping the cover into place is usually relatively hard.
  • the Patek mechanism presents several disadvantages.
  • One of these drawbacks is that the Patek opening mechanism does not seem very practical.
  • the Patek opening mechanism is permanently in a position in which a simple pressure on the actuation pad causes one of the covers to open. Therefore, the risks of one of the covers opening unexpectedly are high, particularly if the watch is in a pocket of clothing.
  • the present invention aims to overcome the problems mentioned above as well as others by providing a timepiece, in particular a pocket watch, comprising a mechanical device for opening at least one cover which covers a dial above which at least one needle or decoration moves, this mechanical opening device being simple in design and use.
  • the present invention as defined in claim 1, relates to a timepiece, in particular a pocket watch, comprising a box delimited by a middle part, the timepiece also comprising at least one cover covering a device for displaying information as well as a device for controlling the opening of at least one cover, this opening control device comprising a ring pendant and a transmission member of control, the ring pendant being arranged to be pushed rectilinearly a first time in the direction of the middle to a first stop position, then to be pivoted in a first direction to a second stop position, then to be pushed rectilinearly a second time in the direction of the middle in order to cause the cover to open by action on the control transmission member.
  • the timepiece comprises a first and a second cover which respectively cover a first and a second information display device as well as a device for controlling the opening of the first, respectively the second cover, this control device opening comprising a pendant ring as well as a first, respectively a second control transmission member, the pendant ring being arranged to be pushed rectilinearly a first time in the direction of the middle to a first stop position, then to be pivoted in a first direction to a second stop position, then to be pushed rectilinearly a second time in the direction of the middle in order to cause the opening of the first cover by action on the first control transmission member, the pendant ring being arranged so as to be able, from the first stop position, to be pivoted in a second direction to a second stop position, then to be pushed rectilinearly a second time in the direction of the middle part in order to cause the opening of the second cover by action on the second control transmission member.
  • the present invention provides a timepiece, in particular a pocket watch, comprising at least one cover whose opening is controlled by action on a pendant which must first be moved rectilinearly in the direction of the middle of the watch, then pivoted before being moved straight again in the direction of the middle to cause the cover to open.
  • a timepiece in particular a pocket watch
  • the sequence of manipulations that the user must carry out to open one or the other of the two covers is practically the same, which greatly facilitates the use of the timepiece.
  • the user does not need to think to determine which sequence of manipulations he must carry out depending on the lid he wishes to open.
  • the device for controlling the opening of a cover of the timepiece according to the invention does not involve any push button; the risks of involuntary opening of the cover are thus avoided, the reliability of the control device is increased and the cost price is reduced.
  • the present invention proceeds from the general inventive idea which consists of equipping a timepiece, in particular a pocket watch, with a device for controlling the opening of at least one cover covering a display device.
  • This control device cannot be activated unintentionally, so that any risk of the cover opening unexpectedly is eliminated; this control device does not use any push button, so that its operation is much more reliable and its cost price reduced; finally, in the case where the timepiece is equipped with two separate covers, the sequence of operations to be carried out to open one or the other of these two covers is almost identical, so that the use of the timepiece according to the invention is very intuitive.
  • the pocket watch according to the invention comprises (see figures 1 and 2A ) a first cover 2a and a second cover 2b. These first and second covers 2a and 2b are arranged to be able to be opened and closed at the request of the user of the pocket watch 1 (see Figures 2B and 2C ).
  • the first and second covers 2a and 2b are pivotally mounted on a middle part 6 of the pocket watch 1, for example by means of hinges 8. • the invention will be described in connection with a pocket watch provided with a first and a second cover. It will nevertheless be understood that the invention is in no way limited to this particular embodiment and that the invention applies identically to the case where the pocket watch comprises a single cover. It will also be understood that, although described in connection with a pocket watch, the present invention can be applied to any type of timepiece equipped with at least one cover, in particular a wristwatch.

The present invention relates to a timepiece, in particular a pocket watch, equipped with at least one cover which hides, for example, a dial above which a set of hands moves.

Arrière-plan technologique de l'inventionTechnological background of the invention

A timepiece of the type indicated above is for example known from the Swiss patent CH 689338 A5 on behalf of Patek . More precisely, the timepiece described in the Patek patent is a pocket watch provided with a cover on each of its faces, these covers being able to both be opened using a controlled mechanism by a stud sliding axially in the crown.

The principle of the Patek mechanism for opening two top and bottom covers of a pocket watch is to use an actuating pad which, depending on the angular position occupied by the pendant, causes the opening of the one or the other of these two lids. In a first position, the pendant is in the high position, blocked angularly, and if the user exerts pressure on the stud, it causes the top cover of the wristwatch to open. From this position, if the user moves the pendant slightly towards the middle, the pendant is angularly unlocked and the user can pivot this pendant in a direction of 180°. When the pendant has rotated 180°, the user releases the pendant which moves axially under a return action and returns to the high locked position but 180° from its first blocked position. In this second locking position of the pendant, the user can cause the bottom cover to open by pushing on the actuation stud.

To achieve this result, the Patek pocket watch includes a cover on each of its faces, a pendant and a winding and time-setting mechanism comprising a crown, a barrel and a cylindrical winding stem. The lid opening mechanism comprises an actuating stud which slides axially in the winding crown and which, via sliding rods guided by the winding mechanism, acts on locks which normally hold the lids in place. closed position.

One of the advantages of the Patek mechanism lies in the fact that it allows the two covers of the pocket watch to be opened. The Patek mechanism avoids the risk of scratching the watch case if you use a knife to open one of the two covers, or of breaking a nail because snapping the cover into place is usually relatively hard.

In the eyes of the Applicant, however, the Patek mechanism presents several disadvantages. One of these drawbacks is that the Patek opening mechanism does not seem very practical. In fact, the Patek opening mechanism is permanently in a position in which a simple pressure on the actuation pad causes one of the covers to open. Therefore, the risks of one of the covers opening unexpectedly are high, particularly if the watch is in a pocket of clothing. Furthermore, it seems quite difficult to have to press on the pendant to bring it from its first locked position to the position in which it is unlocked and can be rotated by 180° without simultaneously activating the actuation pad and therefore causing the opening one of the covers, even when this is not desired. Finally, having to turn the pendant 180° to pass it from its first to its second blocked position does not seem very practical either. This is a fairly large movement which should not be very easy to make with a component as small as the pendant of the Patek pocket watch. Furthermore, using the Patek opening mechanism is not very intuitive. Indeed, the procedure for opening the upper cover and that for opening the lower cover are not the same. In the case of the upper cover, it is opened by pressing on the actuation pin. In the case of the lower cover on the other hand, the opening of this lower cover is obtained by pushing the pendant towards the middle, then by rotating the pendant by 180° and finally by pressing on the actuation stud. Consequently, the user, depending on whether he wishes to open the upper cover or the lower cover, must carry out very different operations from each other, and must each time remember when opening which cover corresponds to which manipulations, which is very inconvenient and counterintuitive.

Résumé de l'inventionSummary of the invention

The present invention aims to overcome the problems mentioned above as well as others by providing a timepiece, in particular a pocket watch, comprising a mechanical device for opening at least one cover which covers a dial above which at least one needle or decoration moves, this mechanical opening device being simple in design and use.

To this end, the present invention, as defined in claim 1, relates to a timepiece, in particular a pocket watch, comprising a box delimited by a middle part, the timepiece also comprising at least one cover covering a device for displaying information as well as a device for controlling the opening of at least one cover, this opening control device comprising a ring pendant and a transmission member of control, the ring pendant being arranged to be pushed rectilinearly a first time in the direction of the middle to a first stop position, then to be pivoted in a first direction to a second stop position, then to be pushed rectilinearly a second time in the direction of the middle in order to cause the cover to open by action on the control transmission member.

The timepiece comprises a first and a second cover which respectively cover a first and a second information display device as well as a device for controlling the opening of the first, respectively the second cover, this control device opening comprising a pendant ring as well as a first, respectively a second control transmission member, the pendant ring being arranged to be pushed rectilinearly a first time in the direction of the middle to a first stop position, then to be pivoted in a first direction to a second stop position, then to be pushed rectilinearly a second time in the direction of the middle in order to cause the opening of the first cover by action on the first control transmission member, the pendant ring being arranged so as to be able, from the first stop position, to be pivoted in a second direction to a second stop position, then to be pushed rectilinearly a second time in the direction of the middle part in order to cause the opening of the second cover by action on the second control transmission member.

Thanks to these characteristics, the present invention provides a timepiece, in particular a pocket watch, comprising at least one cover whose opening is controlled by action on a pendant which must first be moved rectilinearly in the direction of the middle of the watch, then pivoted before being moved straight again in the direction of the middle to cause the cover to open. We therefore understand that any unintentional opening of the cover is impossible. Furthermore, in the embodiment where the timepiece comprises two covers, the sequence of manipulations that the user must carry out to open one or the other of the two covers is practically the same, which greatly facilitates the use of the timepiece. In fact, the user does not need to think to determine which sequence of manipulations he must carry out depending on the lid he wishes to open. It will also be noted that the device for controlling the opening of a cover of the timepiece according to the invention does not involve any push button; the risks of involuntary opening of the cover are thus avoided, the reliability of the control device is increased and the cost price is reduced.

Description détaillée d'un mode de réalisation de l'inventionDetailed description of an embodiment of the invention

The present invention proceeds from the general inventive idea which consists of equipping a timepiece, in particular a pocket watch, with a device for controlling the opening of at least one cover covering a display device. This control device cannot be activated unintentionally, so that any risk of the cover opening unexpectedly is eliminated; this control device does not use any push button, so that its operation is much more reliable and its cost price reduced; finally, in the case where the timepiece is equipped with two separate covers, the sequence of operations to be carried out to open one or the other of these two covers is almost identical, so that the use of the timepiece according to the invention is very intuitive.

Designated as a whole by the general numerical reference 1, the pocket watch according to the invention comprises (see figures 1 and 2A ) a first cover 2a and a second cover 2b. These first and second covers 2a and 2b are arranged to be able to be opened and closed at the request of the user of the pocket watch 1 (see Figures 2B and 2C ). For this purpose, the first and second covers 2a and 2b are pivotally mounted on a middle part 6 of the pocket watch 1, for example by means of hinges 8. When they open, the first and second covers 2a and 2b reveal in the eyes of the user the information display devices that these first and second covers 2a and 2b normally cover. As a purely illustrative example only, the first cover 2a can cover (see Figure 3A ) a display device such as a time dial 9a above which move for example an hour hand 9b and a minute hand 9c. As for the second cover 2b, it can cover for example (see Figure 3B ) a decorative pattern 11a. It will be understood, however, that the first and second covers 2a and 2b can both cover a dial providing a time indication, one of these dials indicating for example by means of a set of hands the current time, while the another dial 11b can, using another set of hands 11b, 11c, provide an indication relating to a timed time or a second time zone.

The invention will be described in connection with a pocket watch provided with a first and a second cover.

The pocket watch according to the invention comprises a device allowing its user to control the opening of the cover(s). Subsequently, we will describe as “proximal” the elements of the control device located on the side of the middle of the pocket watch, and “distal” the elements of the control device located on the side of the ring. It will also be understood that the tubes which will be discussed below and, more generally, the control device as a whole are centered on a longitudinal axis of symmetry XX which extends in a radial direction directed towards the center of the box of the pocket watch. Likewise, we will describe as “top” an element located on the side of the ring, and “bottom” an element located on the side of the middle.

In accordance with the invention, the pocket watch 1 is equipped with a device 10 for controlling the opening of the first and second covers 2a and 2b. This control device 10 comprises (see Figure 4 ) a first pendant 12 which, for reasons of clarity of the presentation, we will hereafter call "ring pendant" 12. This ring pendant 12 carries a ring 14 which is mounted on the ring pendant 12 in a removable manner, for example by means of two screws 16. Finally, the ring pendant 12 is surmounted by a crown 18 which is fixed on the ring pendant 12 in a removable manner and which is useful in particular for winding a watch movement housed in a box 20 of pocket watch 1. This crown 18 will be described in more detail later.

The control device 10 also includes a second pendant 22 which, for reasons of clarity of presentation, we will call “middle pendant” 22 hereinafter. This middle part 22 is fixed to the middle part 6 of the case 20 of the pocket watch 1 by any appropriate means, for example by screwing or even by welding.

The control device 10 also comprises a first tube 24 which, for reasons of clarity of the presentation, we will hereafter call "ring tube" 24. The control device 10 also comprises a second tube 26 which, for reasons for clarity of presentation, we will hereafter call "middle tube" 26. The middle tube 26 is fixed in the middle part 6 of the case 20 of the pocket watch 1 by any appropriate means such as by screwing. The ring tube 24 is fixed in the middle tube 26 for example by screwing using a thread 28 provided at its distal end. The ring tube 24 is also provided on its outer periphery with a first flange 30 and a second flange 32 which act as stops. More precisely, the first collar 30 which we will subsequently call "ring stop" is arranged so as to press on a first support surface 34 located at the bottom of a first housing 36 (ring pendant housing) provided in the pendant ring 12. Likewise, the second collar 32 which we will subsequently call "middle stop" is arranged so as to come to rest against the distal end 38 of the middle tube 26 when the ring tube 24 is completely screwed into the middle tube 26 (see figures 8 And 9 ).

The ring pendant 12 is engaged in sliding freely on the middle tube 26 with the interposition of a return spring 42 threaded onto the middle tube 26 and which is sandwiched between the ring pendant 12 and the middle part 6 of the box 20 of the pocket watch 1.

The ring pendant 12 and the middle case pendant 22 are both substantially of the same shape and the same dimensions. In the example shown in the figures for purely illustrative and non-limiting purposes only, the two pendants 12 and 22 are in the form of a block of generally parallelepiped shape whose edges have been beveled for purely aesthetic considerations only. .

As we see when examining the Figure 4 , the small faces 44 of the ring pendant 12 are each pierced with a hole 46 to allow the screwing of the screws 16 necessary for mounting the ring 14 on the ring pendant 12. Furthermore, on the proximal side, that is to say that is, when we look towards the center of the case 20 of the pocket watch 1, we see that the ring pendant 12 is provided with a first and a second cylindrical portion, respectively 48 and 50, which are arranged one after the other in the distal/proximal direction, the outer diameter of the first cylindrical portion 48 being greater than the outer diameter of the second cylindrical portion 50, which materializes an annular surface 52 at the junction between these two cylindrical portions 48 and 50.

At its base, the second cylindrical portion 50 of the ring pendant 12 is provided with a safety pin 54 and a first and a second tenon respectively 56a and 56b (see more particularly the Figures 5A to 5F ). In the example shown in the drawing, there are two tenons; It will nevertheless be understood on reading the following that the ring pendant 12 can only be equipped with a single tenon, in the case where the pocket watch 1 is only equipped with a single cover. The safety pin 54 and the two tenons 56a and 56b are arranged substantially on the same circle C (see Figure 5B ). The safety pin 54 is provided at the base of the second cylindrical portion 50 of the ring pendant 12, on the exterior surface of this cylindrical portion 50. The safety pin 54 therefore projects from the exterior surface of the second cylindrical portion 50. As for the two tenons 56a and 56b, they are provided at the foot of the second cylindrical portion 50, in the extension of this second cylindrical portion 50. We see on examination of the figure that the two tenons 56a and 56b are arranged at 45° on either side of a diameter D1 which passes through the safety lug 54, and are opposite this safety lug 54. This angular value is given for purely illustrative purposes only, d other values greater than 0° and less than 90° may be considered.

The ring pendant 12, which was said above to consist of a parallelepiped block extended towards the middle part 6 of the case 20 of the pocket watch 1 by two stepped cylindrical portions 48 and 50, is pierced with a first hole 60 made in the parallelepiped block (see figures 5E And 8 ). The internal diameter of this first hole 60 is sufficient to allow passage to the first flange 30 (also called ring stop) which abuts against the first bearing surface 34 formed by a local narrowing of the internal diameter of the first hole 60. second hole 62 whose interior diameter is slightly greater than the exterior diameter of the second flange 32 (also called middle stop) to allow the passage of this second flange 32 is, for its part, pierced in the first and second cylindrical portions 48 and 50.

The control device 10 also comprises a first and a second control transmission member, for example of the type of a first and a second actuating pin 64a, 64b each provided with a lug 66a, respectively 66b and a holding plate 68 whose roles will be described in detail below. In the case where the pocket watch 1 according to the invention comprises only one cover, only one actuating pin is necessary.

The second housing 40, also called middle housing, passes through the middle housing 22 right through (see Figure 5I ). This second housing 40 is of generally cylindrical shape with a diameter D2 and is centered on the longitudinal axis of symmetry XX . This second housing 40 presents internally (see Figures 6A, 6B and 7A, 7B ) a first and a second rim, respectively 70a and 70b. These edges 70a, 70b, in the shape of an arc of a circle, each extend over approximately 90° and are arranged one after the other, with the presence of a clearance 72 between the two. Furthermore, a semi-cylindrical notch 74 which extends along the longitudinal axis of symmetry XX is provided in the interior side wall of the second housing 40, exactly opposite the clearance 72. This semi-cylindrical notch 74 is provided to allow the passage of the safety lug 54 when the ring pendant 12 is introduced into the middle pendant 22. The semi-cylindrical notch 74 opens into a first and a second groove 76a and 76b in the form of arcs of a circle which extend on either side of the notch 74 over an angular sector of approximately 45° and which are each delimited by a milling bottom stop 77a, 77b (see in particular Figures 7A and 7B ). It will be understood that, in the case where the pocket watch 1 includes only one cover, only one groove will be necessary. It will also be understood from reading the following that depending on whether it is desired to open the first cover 2a or the second cover 2b, execution of the opening maneuver will cause the safety pin 54 to slide either in the first groove 76a or in the second groove 76b.

The first and second actuating pins 64a, 64b are introduced into first and second holes, respectively 78a and 78b, drilled axially in a second bearing surface 79 provided in the bottom of the middle housing 40. These first and second pins actuation pins 64a, 64b are held in the holes 78a, 78b thanks to their lugs 66a, 66b which rest on the second bearing surface 79 and which prevent these actuation pins 64a, 64b from escaping from the holes 78a, 78b axially in the direction of the middle part 6. At their end opposite the lugs 66a, 66b, the first and second actuating pins 64, 64b bear on a first, respectively a second locking spring 80a, 80b, which are arranged in the box 20 of the pocket watch 1 and which control the opening of the corresponding cover 2a, 2b. The holes 78a, 78b are machined in the second bearing surface 79 of the middle housing 40 diametrically opposed to each other and are located at approximately 90° on either side of the notch semi-cylindrical 74. Furthermore, the retaining plate 68 is shaped so as to be located above the lugs 66a, 66b of the actuating pins 64a, 64b and to prevent these actuating pins 64a, 64b from escape from the holes 78a, 78b axially in the direction of the ring pendant 12. This retaining plate 68 is fixed in the middle housing 40 by means of at least one screw 82 screwed into a tapped hole 84 machined directly above the semi-circular notch 74, where the first and second grooves 76a, 76b meet. From now on, it is important to note that the retaining plate 68 is mounted so that a slight axial play remains between the lugs 66a, 66b and the second bearing surface 79, this play defining the stroke of the actuating pins 64a, 64b which allows them to actuate the locking springs 80a, 80b of the first and second covers 2a, 2b.

The assembly of the control device 10 is carried out in the following manner: the middle pendant 22 being fixed on the middle part 6 of the case 20 of the pocket watch 1, the middle tube 26 is engaged in the middle pendant housing 40 and we screws it into the middle part 6. After which, we thread the return spring 42 onto the middle tube 26, we introduce the first and second actuating pins 64a, 64b into the first and second holes 78a, 78b, then we screw the retaining plate 68 in the bottom of the middle housing 40, over the actuating pins 64a, 64b. Then, the ring pendant 12 is engaged in the middle pendant 22. For this to be possible, it is necessary to ensure that the ring pendant 12 is oriented so that the safety pin 54 can penetrate into the semi-cylindrical notch 74. Then we engage the ring tube 24 in the ring pendant 12 and screw it into the middle tube 26 until the second flange or middle stop 32 of the ring tube 24 comes to abut against the distal end 38 of the middle tube 26. At this stage of assembly, the ring pendant 12 cannot be lost and is free to slide axially along the middle tube 26 towards the center of the case 20 of the pocket watch 1 against the restoring force of the return spring 42. The axial travel of the ring pendant 12 is determined by the distance which separates the first flange 30 of the ring tube 24 from the second flange 32 of this same ring tube 24. Finally, the crown 18 is fixed in a removable manner to the proximal end of the ring tube 24, and the ring 14 is fixed on the ring pendant 12 by means of the screws 16. It is important to note that the crown 18 is particularly intended for winding a watch movement housed in the box 20 of the pocket watch 1 and plays no role in the operation of the control device 10 which equips the pocket watch 1 according to the invention. Likewise, the presence of the ring 14 is justified by aesthetic and technical considerations (facilitating the actuation of the control device 10 and protecting the crown 18 against the risk of tearing or involuntary operation), but not is not essential for the proper functioning of the control device 10.

In its rest state, the control device 10 is in a situation in which the assembly formed by the ring pendant 12 and the ring 14 is pushed back by the return spring 42 towards the outside of the box 20 of the pocket watch 1. In this position, the safety pin 54 is in its semi-cylindrical notch 74 and the first and second tenons 56a, 56b are at a certain distance above the first and second edges 70a, 70b . From this position, the user who wishes, for example, to open the first cover 2a of his pocket watch 1, must exert a push on the ring pendant 12 towards the center of the case 20 of the pocket watch 1, at against the return force of the return spring 42. Under the effect of this thrust, the ring pendant 12 approaches the middle part 6 of the pocket watch case 1, and the tenons 56a, 56b find themselves at immediate proximity of the first and second edges 70a, 70b. As for the safety pin 54, after coming out of its semi-cylindrical notch 74, it finds itself at the height of the first and second grooves 76a, 76b. Suppose that, to open the first cover 2a, it is necessary to turn the ring pendant 12 clockwise. In this case, the safety pin 54 will penetrate into the first groove 76a and the ring pendant 12 will be able to pivot by approximately 45° until the safety pin 54 reaches abutment 77a at the bottom of the first groove 76a. During this pivoting movement, the first and second tenons 56a, 56b which, initially, rested respectively on their first and second edges 70a, 70b, will also pivot by 45°, so that the second tenon 56b will end up at the plumb with the clearance 72, while the first tenon 56a will find itself plumb with the first actuating pin 64a. The height of the first groove 76a in which the safety pin 54 is located is sufficient so that, having arrived in this position, the user, by pushing on the ring pendant 12 against the return force of the spring, reminder 42, manages to move this ring pendant 12 axially towards the middle part 6 of the case 20 of the pocket watch 1. During this movement, the second tenon 56b penetrates into the clearance 72 and does not produce any effect, while the first tenon 56a comes into contact with the first actuating pin 64a and forces the latter to move axially in the direction of the middle part 6 of the case 20 of the pocket watch 1. It will be understood that , so that the first tenon 56a can come into contact with the first actuating pin 64a, the diameter of the return spring 42 should be less than the diameter of the circle C on which this first tenon 56a is arranged. It is also recalled that the axial movement of the first actuation pin 64a is made possible thanks to the fact that the retaining plate 68 is mounted so that a slight axial play remains between the lugs 66a, 66b of the actuation pins 64a, 64b and the second bearing surface 79 provided in the middle housing 40, this clearance defining the stroke of the actuating pins 64a, 64b which allows them to actuate the locking springs 80a, 80b of the first and second covers 2a, 2b. Thus, by moving, the first actuating pin 64a will actuate the first locking spring 80a which, in turn, will, in a manner known per se, control the opening of the first cover 2a. Indeed, we see from the Figure 10 that the pocket watch 1 according to the invention is provided with two opening springs 86a and 86b which are respectively associated with the first and second covers 2a and 2b and which each comprise a tenon 88a and 88b. When they are in the closed position, the covers 2a and 2b press on the tenons 88a and 88b of the opening springs 86a and 86b and cause these opening springs 86a, 86b to bend in a direction perpendicular to a plane in which extends the movement of the pocket watch 1. In this situation, the opening springs 86a, 86b are therefore under tension but are prevented from relaxing to return to their rest position because the covers 2a, 2b are held closed by the springs. locking 86a and 86b. Indeed, as is visible on the Figures 11A and 11B , the two opening springs 80a and 80b are each provided with a lug, respectively 90a and 90b, which projects into a corresponding cavity provided on the interior face of each cover 2a, 2b. However, when the user wishes for example to open the first cover 2a and he pushes on the ring pendant 12 towards the middle part 6 of the case 20 of the pocket watch 1, the first actuating pin 64a slightly pushes back the spring opening 80a towards the inside of the case 20 of the pocket watch 1, so that the lug 90a comes out of the cavity provided on the interior face of the cover 2a; at this moment, the cover 2a is no longer retained, which allows the opening spring 86a to relax to return to its rest position and cause the cover 2a to pivot upwards. What has just been described for opening the first cover 2a applies in the same way to opening the cover 2b.

En se déplaçant, la goupille d'actionnement 64b va actionner le second ressort de verrouillage 80b qui, à son tour, va commander de manière connue en soi l'ouverture du second couvercle 2b.It will be understood that the opening of the second cover 2b obeys the same rules as the opening of the first cover 2a which we have just described. The ring pendant 12 is rotated by 45° so that the safety pin 54 abuts against the bottom of the second groove 76b. During this movement, the first tenon 56a will come to position itself above the clearance 72, while the second tenon 56b will find itself above the second actuating pin 64b. Then the ring pendant 12 is pushed axially in the direction of the middle part 6 of the case 20 of the pocket watch 1 against the return force of the return spring 42. The first tenon 56a will penetrate into the clearance 72 without produce effect, while the second tenon 56b will press on the second actuating pin 64b and cause its axial movement towards the middle part 6 of the case 20 of the pocket watch 1. By moving, the pin d The actuation 64b will actuate the second locking spring 80b which, in turn, will control the opening of the second cover 2b in a manner known per se.

It goes without saying that the present invention is not limited to the embodiment which has just been described and that various simple modifications and variants can be envisaged by those skilled in the art without departing from the scope of the invention as defined. by the appended claims. Note in particular that once one of the covers 2a or 2b is opened, it is sufficient to return the control device 10 to the inactive position, turn the ring pendant 12 45° backwards so as to bring the safety pin 54 back into its semi-cylindrical notch 74 and allow the ring pendant 12 to be pushed back into rear in its distal position under the effect of the return spring 42 which relaxes.
