Definitions

  • the invention relates to a transport system for the wheels of two-wheeled vehicles.
  • the running wheels each include the hub, the spokes and the rim and possibly associated functional elements such as a brake or a dynamo in or on the hub. If necessary, the wheels are already assembled ready for assembly with rim tape, tube and casing. Depending on the different wheel diameters, in particular rim diameters, and depending on whether the wheels are supplied with or without tires, there are a large number of different dimensions.
  • a cardboard shipping container for bicycle wheels is known from “https://www.shipbikes.com/ewheel-shipper/”, in which two wheels can be accommodated, separated from one another by a cardboard partition.
  • the invention is based on the object of specifying a transport system for the wheels of two-wheeled vehicles, which can be used ecologically advantageously as a reusable container and which ensures that the wheels are transported with care.
  • the invention proposes using a container that is designed as a stackable container.
  • the container can do without an upper cover, so that the bottom of the respective upper stacking container closes the respective lower stacking container in the manner of a lid, which is economically advantageous and requires the smallest possible stacking dimension, so that ultimately when there are a large number of containers stacked on top of each other, only the uppermost container must be provided with its own lid to cover this uppermost container.
  • the walls and the floor are configured independently of one another, so that the floor can be handled as a separate component.
  • the walls are in favor of one simplified handling of the stacking container designed coherently, in the manner of a ring, which forms the peripheral walls that delimit the interior of the container.
  • the floor is profiled on its upper side so that it can form-fit the walls and ensure their secure fit.
  • the floor has an upper profile on its upper side, which laterally guides the walls standing on the floor, so that the walls cannot slip relative to the floor.
  • the base is also profiled on its underside, with this lower profile serving to bring about a form fit with a container located underneath.
  • This lower profiling of the floor is therefore designed in such a way that it laterally guides the upper edges of walls of a similar container arranged underneath.
  • releasable locking means are provided by means of which the walls can be fixed to the floor. Because the locking means are detachable, the walls can be removed from the base, so that the base and walls can be arranged in a space-saving manner for empty transport of the stackable container.
  • a space divider is also provided, which is arranged upright inside the container and which divides the interior space into at least two compartments arranged next to one another, in each of which a running wheel can be arranged.
  • the running wheels are separated from each other by this space divider, so that they cannot damage each other either functionally or visually, for example through grinding or scratch marks.
  • the upper profiling of the floor can advantageously be designed in such a way that it supports the walls radially inwards and radially outwards, so that it therefore rests both on the insides and on the outsides of the walls.
  • a plurality of short nubs or ridges can be provided, or a continuous groove can be provided in the top of the base, so that in any case the walls are secured against lateral displacements in any horizontal direction and are additionally secured against denting or buckling, since they are guided in both radial directions.
  • the lower profiling of the base can advantageously be designed in such a way that it rests against the insides of the walls of a container located underneath.
  • the middle area of the base can be drawn deeper than an outer peripheral edge, so that in this way the form fit with the container underneath is created.
  • particularly simple handling of the stackable containers when creating a stack is ensured by the walls being in contact from the inside.
  • the space divider can advantageously be designed as a separate element so that it can be removed from the container. In this way, a space-saving arrangement of the container and an economically advantageous, simple configuration of the individual elements of the container can be supported. Description

The invention relates to a transport system for the wheels of two-wheeled vehicles.

In the production of two-wheeled vehicles, for example bicycles, it is common in practice for the wheels of the two-wheeled vehicles to be manufactured by specialized suppliers and delivered to the vehicle manufacturer. The running wheels each include the hub, the spokes and the rim and possibly associated functional elements such as a brake or a dynamo in or on the hub. If necessary, the wheels are already assembled ready for assembly with rim tape, tube and casing. Depending on the different wheel diameters, in particular rim diameters, and depending on whether the wheels are supplied with or without tires, there are a large number of different dimensions.

From the U.S. 2007/0221721 A1 , which represents the closest prior art, a transport system with containers for vehicle parts is known, which has annular side walls, a separate floor and locking means. The containers each have an undivided interior for receiving the transported goods.

From the U.S. 3,283,915 A a system is known which is not intended as a transport system, but is used in household appliances to accommodate cutlery and does not appear suitable for accommodating the wheels of two-wheeled vehicles.

A cardboard shipping container for bicycle wheels is known from “https://www.shipbikes.com/ewheel-shipper/”, in which two wheels can be accommodated, separated from one another by a cardboard partition.

The invention is based on the object of specifying a transport system for the wheels of two-wheeled vehicles, which can be used ecologically advantageously as a reusable container and which ensures that the wheels are transported with care.

This object is achieved by a transport system having the features of claim 1. Advantageous configurations of the invention are described in the dependent claims.

In other words, the invention proposes using a container that is designed as a stackable container. This means that the container can do without an upper cover, so that the bottom of the respective upper stacking container closes the respective lower stacking container in the manner of a lid, which is economically advantageous and requires the smallest possible stacking dimension, so that ultimately when there are a large number of containers stacked on top of each other, only the uppermost container must be provided with its own lid to cover this uppermost container.

For this reason, it is provided in the proposed stacking container that the walls and the floor are configured independently of one another, so that the floor can be handled as a separate component. The walls are in favor of one simplified handling of the stacking container designed coherently, in the manner of a ring, which forms the peripheral walls that delimit the interior of the container.

The floor is profiled on its upper side so that it can form-fit the walls and ensure their secure fit. For this purpose, the floor has an upper profile on its upper side, which laterally guides the walls standing on the floor, so that the walls cannot slip relative to the floor. The base is also profiled on its underside, with this lower profile serving to bring about a form fit with a container located underneath. This lower profiling of the floor is therefore designed in such a way that it laterally guides the upper edges of walls of a similar container arranged underneath. In order to be able to handle the stacking container without any problems in its assembled state, releasable locking means are provided by means of which the walls can be fixed to the floor. Because the locking means are detachable, the walls can be removed from the base, so that the base and walls can be arranged in a space-saving manner for empty transport of the stackable container.

According to the proposal, a space divider is also provided, which is arranged upright inside the container and which divides the interior space into at least two compartments arranged next to one another, in each of which a running wheel can be arranged. The running wheels are separated from each other by this space divider, so that they cannot damage each other either functionally or visually, for example through grinding or scratch marks.

The upper profiling of the floor can advantageously be designed in such a way that it supports the walls radially inwards and radially outwards, so that it therefore rests both on the insides and on the outsides of the walls. For example, a plurality of short nubs or ridges can be provided, or a continuous groove can be provided in the top of the base, so that in any case the walls are secured against lateral displacements in any horizontal direction and are additionally secured against denting or buckling, since they are guided in both radial directions.

The lower profiling of the base can advantageously be designed in such a way that it rests against the insides of the walls of a container located underneath. For example, the middle area of the base can be drawn deeper than an outer peripheral edge, so that in this way the form fit with the container underneath is created. In comparison to overlapping the walls of the container located underneath on the outside, particularly simple handling of the stackable containers when creating a stack is ensured by the walls being in contact from the inside.

The space divider can advantageously be designed as a separate element so that it can be removed from the container. In this way, a space-saving arrangement of the container and an economically advantageous, simple configuration of the individual elements of the container can be supported. In addition, this offers the possibility of replacing damaged room dividers separately, in an economically advantageous manner, while retaining the floor and walls of the stacking container. The tendency of the two wheels to want to touch is greatest in the area of the room divider. The two running wheels are separated from one another by the space divider and accordingly the space divider represents the element of the stacking container that is mechanically subjected to the highest load, which is correspondingly exposed to the mechanical effects of the running wheels. Being able to replace the room divider separately is therefore a particularly economical way of being able to use the stacking container over a long period of time and keeping it usable, while at the same time ensuring optimal protection of the wheels to be transported.

The room divider can advantageously be designed as a flexible surface element, for example as a textile element. To this The two wheels can be arranged offset from one another to save space, so that the hubs, where the wheels have their greatest width, are offset from one another and accordingly the stacking container can have an inside width that is less than twice the hub width. With such a staggered arrangement of the impellers, a space divider can advantageously be used which does not run completely flat, in a single plane, but which assumes an arcuate or S-shaped course. Due to the configuration as a flexible surface element, the space divider can easily take on such a course and in particular the same space divider can be used for different wheels, for example wheels of different sizes, since it easily adapts to the different contours of the wheels. In addition, the space divider, if it is designed as a flexible surface element, has a particularly low weight, which is also advantageous for transporting the running wheels.

Advantageously, the space divider can be provided with a reinforcement in its central region, where it is adjacent to the hubs of the running wheels, which serves to absorb the frictional and compressive forces that act on the space divider at this point. This reinforcement enables a construction of the room divider in an economically advantageous manner, which supports a particularly economical production of the room divider, since the mechanical stability that the room divider must necessarily have is designed differently in some areas and is optimally adapted to the loads that occur, is greatest there , where the loads are greatest.

An intermediate base can advantageously be arranged in the container, which runs at a distance above the base of the container. This floor has slots through which the wheels partially protrude downwards. These slots ensure that the wheels are guided within the stacking container, so that the impellers do not hit each other in an uncontrolled manner and damage each other optically or mechanically.

In this case, it can be particularly advantageous to make the slots comparatively short, so that the running wheels cannot dip so far into the slots that they stand up on the ground. Rather, these short slits cause the intermediate floor to hold the running wheels at a distance above the floor of the stacking container. In this way, the running wheels are optimally protected by impacts acting on the container from below during transport cannot be directly transmitted to the running wheels.

The space divider can advantageously be part of an inner container suspended in the container, in particular an inner bag. A particularly light-weight inner container can be created in particular through the design as a textile inner bag. The inner container can be adapted to the different dimensions of the wheels to be transported. On the one hand, this affects the rim diameter and, on the other hand, the transport variant, whether the wheels are to be transported with tires or without tires. For example, the width of the above-mentioned slots in the intermediate floor provided by the inner container can be adapted to the rims used or the tires and the length of the slots to the diameter of the running wheels in order to reliably ensure the above-mentioned contact with the floor of the transport container to be able to rule out. In addition, the inner container, especially if it is designed as a textile inner bag, offers a simple way of arranging the room divider: If the room divider is designed as a flexible planar element, in particular as a textile planar element, it can be and is easily sewn to the rest of the inner bag in this way reliably fixed in its upright position when the inner bag is placed in the container is mounted. However, the inner container, in particular as an inner bag, can not only be used to fix the space divider inside the container, but it can also form the above-mentioned intermediate floor. With basically the same design of the stacking container, the transport system can therefore be quickly, easily and inexpensively adapted to the sizes of the wheels to be transported by simply hanging an inner bag adapted to these respective dimensions into the container.

The inner bag can advantageously also be fixed to the container in its lower area. The inner container, in particular the inner bag, is fixed somewhere on the walls of the stacking container. The additional fixing at the bottom prevents the inner container from slacking in the stacking container, so that the wheels are optimally guided and, for example, the wheels can be prevented from banging against the container walls from the inside.

Advantageously, the inner container can be detachably held in the container, for example with the help of hooks and eyes or by means of a clamping rail, or by means of a hook closure, by means of snap fasteners or the like. In any case, the transport system can be adapted to different wheel geometries within a very short time thanks to the exchangeable inner container, and finally the detachable and therefore exchangeable inner container enables the further use of the transport system at low cost, even if the inner container is dirty or damaged, for example and can no longer be used.

The inner container, for example the inner bag mentioned, can advantageously have a pocket for accommodating small parts, for example nuts, washers and the like for fastening the wheel to the two-wheeler, operating instructions for the built-in functional components, such as dynamo, brakes or the like. The arrangement of such small parts prevents damage to the wheels from loose small parts inside the stacking container. In addition, the small parts do not have to be found individually, but can be quickly removed from the bag to save time. In particular, if the inner container is designed as a flexible, possibly textile, inner bag, the bag can be easily folded together with the rest of the inner bag without the pack size of the folded container or inner container being disadvantageously increased, for example if the inner container including its pocket consists of rigid wall sections would exist.

The proposed transport system can advantageously be further developed to the effect that an empty transport of several stacking containers is supported. For this purpose, the transport system can advantageously have a pallet, the upper side of which enables a bottom to be accommodated in a form-fitting manner. Opposite the pallet, a so-called top cover can be provided, the underside of which also receives a floor underneath in a form-fitting manner. In this way a stack of trays can be placed between the pallet and the top cover and held securely. It can either be provided that the walls of the stacking container and possibly also the inner container are arranged folded together between two adjacent floors of stacking containers. However, it can also be provided that a stack is created exclusively from bases and a stack of walls and inner containers is arranged next to it between the pallet and the top cover. The elements of the stacking container arranged between the pallet and the top cover are in any case reliably held together by the connecting elements, so that the empty stacking containers delivered there can be sorted and accepted in the manufacturing plant for the running wheels. After removing the top cover, the individual floors, walls and inner containers are reassembled into the described stackable containers and reused.

The connecting elements that hold the pallet and the top cover together can advantageously be designed as tension belts. This enables problem-free, flexible adjustment to different stack heights between the pallet and the top cover, depending on the number of stacked containers to be transported and folded.

The walls, which are designed to form a closed ring, can advantageously be designed as a sandwich panel made of plastic. So-called knobbed panels form surface elements with a high level of rigidity and good resilience with regard to weather influences and mechanical resilience. Between two outer layers, they have a three-dimensionally profiled plate made of the same material, for example, with the middle plate having a large number of knobs and being firmly connected to the outer layers at their contact points, for example glued or ultrasonically welded.

The floor can also advantageously consist of plastic, for example two deep-drawn elements, one of which forms the upper side with the corresponding profiling of the floor and the other the underside with the mentioned lower profiling of the floor.

An advantageous embodiment of the transport system can be provided on the one hand to allow space-saving transport of wheels over long distances and on the other hand within a defined environment - for example in an assembly plant of a bicycle manufacturer. A suitable transport system is described below:
In this embodiment of the transport system, it is provided that the stackable containers equipped with running wheels are shipped without bottoms by placing two or more of the rings equipped with running wheels on a pallet. This is particularly possible without any problems if there is no provision for arranging a plurality of stacking containers one above the other. And especially when the inner containers already described above are used, the running wheels are held securely within the rings and at a distance from the ground on which the rings stand.

In order to reliably hold the several rings standing on the pallet together, an outer ring is provided which surrounds all the rings and into which the individual rings equipped with running wheels are placed. In order to hold the rings together, a comparatively low height of the outer ring is sufficient, which can therefore be less than the height of the individual rings of the stackable containers. At the top, the individual rings of the stacking containers are not only covered by an upper cover, but are also guided in a form-fitting manner, as has been explained with reference to the upper cover already described above.

After the wheels have been transported, the individual rings and any inner containers used can be folded together to save space and arranged inside the outer ring, which is still set up. The top cover is then placed on the outer ring so that the rings can now be returned in a space-saving manner or run empty. The rings and any inner containers used are surrounded on all sides and protected against mechanical and weather-related influences.

With this configuration of the transport system, the bottoms of the stacking containers do not have to be transported back and forth between a manufacturer of the wheels and an assembly plant, which in terms of space requirements, in terms of possible Damage, and because of the weight to be transported in each case is also advantageous from an ecological point of view. Rather, the bottoms of the stacking containers can circulate in the internal movement of goods in the aforementioned assembly plant, while long-distance transport can take place using pallets.

The surface geometry on the upper side of the pallets can advantageously be designed in connection with the geometry on the underside of the floors of the stacking containers in such a way that the same pallets can optionally be used to implement both variants of transport systems explained. In the first variant explained above, the pallet guides the bottoms of the stacking containers in a form-fitting manner, and in the second variant explained above, the pallet guides at least the outer ring in a form-fitting manner, and possibly also the individual rings placed in the outer ring.

The surface geometry of the outer cover can either be designed in such a way that the individual rings are guided in a form-fitting manner on the underside of the outer cover, and the outer ring is also guided in a form-fitting manner when the vehicle is driven empty. Alternatively, the outer cover can be designed as a reversible cover so that, depending on the orientation, it has either a first underside in which the individual rings are guided in a form-fitting manner, or a second underside in which the outer ring is guided in a form-fitting manner.

1 1 shows a stacking container 1 which has a base 2 and two end walls 3 and two side walls 4, the walls 3 and 4 being combined to form a closed ring 5. The ring 5 is fixed to the end walls 3 on the base 2 with the aid of locking means 6 . For this purpose, the locking means 6 engage in recesses, in particular openings, in the ring 5 which are provided in the end walls 3, and in particular can each have a downwardly projecting lug which is located inside the ring 5 and prevents the ring 5 from slipping off the locking means 6 prevented when lifting. Furthermore, a retaining tab 7 is provided on each of the end walls 3 and serves as a gripping tab for handling the stackable container 1 .

The bottom 2 has on its upper side an upper profile in the form of a circumferential groove into which the ring 5 is set with its lower edge. In this position of use can Ring 5 are fixed by means of the locking means 6 on the ground and connected to the floor 2.

Inside the walls 3 and 4, an inner container 8 is arranged, which is made of textile material and is therefore referred to as an inner bag. The inner container 8 also has walls on the inside, adjacent to the walls 3 and 4, and an upright space divider 9 which runs approximately diagonally through the inner container 8 and is also made of textile material. The room divider 9 divides the interior of the stacking container 1 into two compartments 10 with an approximately triangular outline, with an impeller 11 being arranged upright in each compartment 10 . Furthermore, the inner container 8 forms a pocket 12 in each compartment 10, which serves to accommodate small parts, which are each associated with the impeller 11 arranged in the relevant compartment 10.

2 shows how the two running wheels 11 are offset from one another in the two compartments 10 of the stacking container 1 . where is in 2 a rigid configuration of the space divider 9 is shown, so that the hubs of the two running wheels 11 penetrate the space divider 9 in each case. Appropriate recesses in the space divider 9 ensure that the running wheels 11 are reliably fixed and guided within the inner container 8 and thus within the stacking container 1 .

Deviating from the exemplary embodiment shown, however, provision can be made for the inner container 8 to be in the form of a flexible inner bag with a space divider 9 which is also flexible. In this case the arrangement of openings in the space divider 9 can also be provided for receiving the hubs of the running wheels 11 therein. However, deviating from the exemplary embodiment shown, it can also be provided that such a textile or flexible room divider 9 is designed to be closed, so that it is not, as in 2 runs in a straight line, but rather runs curved and the wheels 11 together with their Hubs are each arranged exclusively on only one side of the room divider 9.

Fig. 3 zeigt eine Seitenansicht auf den Stapelbehälter 1, und Fig. 4 eine Ansicht auf die Stirnseite des Stapelbehälters 1. 3 shows a side view of the stacking container 1, and 4 a view of the front side of the stacking container 1.

Out of figure 5 It can be seen that the inner container 8 forms an intermediate floor 14 at a distance above the floor 2 . In each compartment 10, this intermediate floor 14 has a slot 15 in which a running wheel 11 is partially immersed, namely as far as the length of the slot 15 allows. The dimensions of the slot 15 and the distance between the intermediate floor 14 and the floor 2 ensure that the impeller 11 does not stand on the floor 2 but hangs at a distance above the floor 2 .

6 shows a number of 12 stackable containers 1 in a transport system which has a lower pallet 16 and an upper cover 17 . The eight stacking containers 1 of the two lower tiers of this transport system are closed at the top by the bases 2 of the stacking containers 1 of the third tier arranged above them. The top cover 17 forms a closure for the top, third layer of the stacking container 1, so that this stacking container 1 is securely covered and closed at the top. The surface of the pallet 16 and the underside of the top cover 17 are each provided with such a profiling that the stacking containers 1 standing on the pallet 16 are held in a form-fitting manner on the pallet 16 and the top cover 17 is in turn held in a form-fitting manner on the topmost stacking containers 1. so that all elements of the in 6 shown transport system are secured against slipping sideways.

On two opposite sides of the transport system, the pallet 15 is connected to the top cover 17 by connecting elements 18, these connecting elements 18 are designed as tension belts that can be hooked into the pallet 16 below and into the top cover 17 above.

The tensioning effect of the tensioning belt can be ensured, for example, by the fact that the tensioning belt is adjustable and its length can be adapted, for example, to stacks of different heights that are located between the pallet 16 and the top cover 17 . As an alternative to this, the clamping effect can be ensured by an elastically stretchable design of the connecting element 18 . This can be provided, for example, if it is always ensured that a specific number of stackable containers 1 are to be transported between the pallet 16 and the top cover 17 . In this case, the tension belt can have a fixed length that is slightly shorter than the distance between its attachment points on the pallet 16 and the top cover 17, so that the tension belt is always mounted on the transport system with a certain pretension. This elastic configuration of the tensioning belt supports rapid handling of the transport system, since the tensioning belt does not always have to be adjusted to its desired length or loosened again before it is dismantled.

7 shows the space-saving transport of 24 stackable containers 1: Two of the in 6 Transport systems shown are in accordance with 7 shown arranged one above the other, the individual stacking containers 1 each being dismantled and folded up and in this way can be returned to the manufacturer of the wheels in the manner of an empty run. The upper sides of the pallets 16 and the undersides of the top covers 17 are profiled in such a way that on the one hand a stack of bases 2 and next to them a stack of rings 5 can be arranged, i.e. from the walls of the stacking container 1, and can be accommodated in a form-fitting manner. The textile, foldable inner container 8 are each folded within the associated Arranged ring 5 and can be arranged, for example, in free spaces 19, which result from the folding of a ring 5 in each case.

Connecting elements 18 in the form of tension belts are also provided between a respective pallet 16 and an upper cover 17 during this empty run of the transport system.

Aus Übersichtlichkeitsgründen sind die Verbindungselemente 18 sowie andere, bereits weiter oben erläuterte Details des Transportsystems nicht dargestellt 8 shows three rings 5, which stand up directly on a pallet 16 without the bases 2 otherwise used in the stacking containers 1, so that the in 8 shown arrangement is not the subject of the invention. An outer ring 20 also stands on the pallet 16 and is guided in a form-fitting manner in a circumferential groove in the pallet 16 . The outer ring 20 only extends over a portion of the height of the rings 5. In the illustrated embodiment, the outer ring 20 is less than half the height of the rings 5. An upper cover 17 covers the rings 5 at the top and is like this on its underside designed so that it leads the rings 5 in a form-fitting manner. Connecting elements 18 are also provided in this embodiment of the transport system and connect the top cover 17 to the pallet 16. In this case, too, the connecting elements 18 can advantageously be designed as tension belts so that their length can be adjusted quickly and easily. For reasons of clarity, the connecting elements 18 and other details of the transport system that have already been explained above are not shown

9 shows the arrangement of the three rings 5 of 8 side by side, it being seen that each ring 5 is used to accommodate four wheels 11. For reasons of clarity, the space dividers 9 and other details of the transport system already explained above, such as the pockets 12, are not shown.

Fig. 10 zeigt eine Ansicht auf die Stirnseite des Transportsystems von Fig. 8, mit den drei nebeneinander angeordneten Ringen 5 innerhalb des Außenrings 20. 10 shows a view of the front side of the transport system from 8 , with the three rings 5 arranged side by side inside the outer ring 20.

11 shows the transport system Figures 8 to 10 in the folded state, ie for a return transport or an empty run of the rings 5. The outer ring 20 remains set up on the pallet 16, and the top cover 17 rests on the outer ring 20.

Fig. 12 zeigt ähnlich der Fig. 10 eine Ansicht auf das Transportsystem, aber im zusammengefalteten Zustand der Fig. 11. 12 shows similar to the 10 a view of the transport system, but in the folded state of the 11 .

13 shows a cross section through the transport system 12 . The folded rings 5 arranged inside the outer ring 20 can be seen. In particular, it can be seen that the rings 5 lying on top of one another do not take up the entire height provided by the height of the outer ring 20 as the interior space of the transport system. An additional transport volume is thus also available, for example for inner containers. In addition, if necessary, the height of the outer ring 20 can be reduced and adapted to the required transport volume, which is necessary for the return transport or the empty run of the transport system, if this correspondingly low height ensures reliable guidance of the rings 5 standing inside the outer ring 20 can be.
