Definitions
- the invention relates to a quick coupler according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Such quick couplers are used for easy and convenient changing of different attachments on construction machines.
- a quick coupler e.g. buckets, grabs, shears, compactors, magnets, hydraulic hammers or other attachments can be coupled or uncoupled in a few seconds and with a high safety standard from a driver's cab e.g. on a boom of an excavator.
- U.S. Patent No. 6,154,989 discloses a generic quick coupler.
- This includes a carrier which has first receptacles on one side for holding a first coupling element provided on an attachment and second receptacles on the other side with a locking element movable between a release position and a locking position for releasably holding a second coupling element.
- a catch device with a hook arrangement for holding a crossbar interacting with counter hooks on the attachment is provided on the carrier. Since the hook arrangement provided for securing is designed in one piece with the carrier, damage to the hook arrangement caused by improper use always also affects the entire carrier. A repair or an exchange is therefore associated with a considerable effort.
- first slot-shaped receptacles are provided on one side of a carrier and second receptacles for receiving a bolt-shaped coupling element are provided on the other side of the carrier.
- a hook-shaped locking element that can be pivoted about a transverse axis is arranged on the first receptacle and the second receptacle for releasably holding the coupling element used on one or the other side of an attachment, as required.
- the two hook-shaped locking elements are pushed back into one by a torsion spring rotated open position and can be held in a forward rotated locking position by a spring-loaded locking pin.
- the spring-loaded securing pin can be moved by an actuating cylinder from an extended securing position for holding the locking element in the locking position into a retracted position for releasing the locking element for movement into the opening position.
- the hook-shaped locking elements 144 and 241 thus form the locking device for releasably holding the coupling element and do not represent a catching device to prevent the implement from falling.
- the coupling device for tools on a carrier device.
- the coupling device contains a first coupling part that can be connected to the carrier device and a second coupling part that can be connected to the tool.
- this known coupling device has a catch device with a catch hook fixedly arranged on the first coupling part and a catch bracket arranged on the second coupling part. The catching device allows the second coupling part to be caught with the tool in a catching position in the event of unintentional release from the coupling position and held on the first coupling part.
- the object of the invention is to create a quick coupler of the type mentioned in the introduction, in which damage to the carrier caused by improper loading of the catching device can be avoided.
- the catch device has at least one catch hook which is pivotably connected to the carrier. Due to the pivoting arrangement, the catch hook can give way if, for example, an operator hits an obstacle when handling the quick coupler with the catch hook or a catch hook is used in an unauthorized manner to support an excavator on the ground for turning or relocating. Impacts or forces acting on the catch hook are therefore not transmitted directly to the carrier due to the resilience of the catch hook, which means that the connection to the carrier is not possible loaded so heavily and the wearer is affected as little as possible. A catch hook damaged by improper use can also be easily replaced without replacing the entire carrier. The entire carrier does not have to be dismantled or replaced.
- the at least one catch hook is designed in such a way that it can catch an attachment coupled to the quick coupler even in the event of an unintentional release movement of a locking device and thereby prevent the attachment from being released from the quick coupler in an undesired manner.
- the catch hook is completely independent of the quick coupler's locking device controlled by the operator and thus offers increased safety even in the event of improper operation.
- the catch hook is therefore designed to catch an attachment independently of the operator for additional security.
- the catch device can comprise one or more catch hooks that are separate from one another or connected to one another.
- the catch device can contain two catch hooks arranged pivotably on the first receptacles of the carrier.
- the catch hooks can be designed as separate catch hooks that can be pivoted separately from one another. However, they can also be connected to one another.
- the catch hook can be arranged on a connecting web of the carrier so as to be pivotable about a transverse axis.
- the connecting web can have a transverse bore and the catch hook can have suitable receiving bores for receiving the transverse axis.
- the catch hook can expediently be rotatably mounted on the transverse axis via bearing bushes. This achieves a low-friction articulation of the catch hooks on the carrier that is well protected against wear.
- the transverse axis can be secured against falling out and twisting relative to the carrier by means of a pin.
- the connecting web can protrude into an intermediate space between two rearwardly projecting legs of the catch hook.
- the catch hook can have an upper curve and a rear bearing surface for bearing against a front bearing surface of the carrier.
- the connecting web can protrude into a recess provided with an upper inner surface and a lower inner surface on the rear side of the catch hook.
- An upper and lower gap, in which a damping element is arranged, is preferably provided between the connecting web and the upper or lower inner surface of the recess.
- the catch hook can also be inserted as a transverse axis in half-shell-shaped receptacles on the carrier and held from below by a counterpart via bearing pins designed in one piece with the catch hook.
- the half-shell-shaped receptacles for the rotatable mounting of the transverse axes can be arranged on the upper side of two spaced-apart, parallel legs on connecting webs of the carrier.
- the catch hook is designed to grip around a coupling element that engages with the first receptacles.
- a quick coupler 1 is shown for easy and convenient changing of different attachments on construction machines, in particular excavators.
- a quick coupler for example, swivel buckets, grippers, shears, magnets, compactors, hydraulic hammers or other mechanical or hydraulic attachments can be easily and conveniently coupled or uncoupled from a driver's cab to a boom or other attachment of an excavator or other construction vehicle.
- the quick coupler 1 shown contains a carrier 2 designed as a welded or cast part, the first receptacles 3 open to the front on one side for receiving and holding a first bolt-shaped coupling element and the second, open on the other side, downwards Includes 4 recordings for receiving a second bolt-shaped coupling element.
- the first receptacles 3, which are open at the front, are designed in the form of claws or forks.
- the downwardly open receptacles 4 have a curved lower contact surface 5 for contacting the second bolt-shaped coupling element.
- the carrier 2 contains a locking device which, in the embodiments described in more detail below, consists of bolt-shaped locking elements (not shown here) which can be moved between a retracted release position and an extended locking position.
- the bolt-shaped locking elements are axially displaceably guided in horizontal guide bores within the carrier 2 and can be moved hydraulically via a piston between the retracted release position and the extended locking position.
- the downwardly open second receptacles 4 are closed by the locking elements arranged displaceably in the carrier 2 on the underside, so that the second bolt-shaped coupling element is gripped by the locking element.
- the carrier 2 contains two claw-shaped first receptacles 3 for a first coupling element on one side and two receptacles 4 for a second coupling element on the other side.
- continuous receiving openings 7 for fastening bolts, not shown, for fastening the quick coupler 1 to a boom of an excavator or a connecting part of another construction vehicle are provided on two parallel side parts 6 arranged on the upper side of the carrier 2 .
- the quick coupler 1 which is usually arranged on a boom of an excavator, is first moved in such a way that a first coupling element arranged, for example on an adapter or on the attachment, fits into the claw-shaped receptacles 3 on one side of the Quick coupler 1 is retracted.
- the quick coupler 1 is then pivoted around the first bolt-shaped coupling element with the locking bolts still pulled back in such a way that a second coupling element on the adapter or attachment comes to rest on the contact surfaces 5 of the receptacles 4, which are open at the bottom, on the other side of the quick coupler 1.
- the locking bolts which are movably arranged in the guide bores in the carrier 2 of the quick coupler 1, can then be extended hydraulically so that the second bolt-shaped coupling element is gripped by the two locking bolts on the quick coupler 2 and the attachment is thus held on the quick coupler 1.
- the carrier 2 has an in figure 1 illustrated additional capture device 8 is provided.
- the catching device 8 is designed to grip around the coupling element which is arranged on an adapter or attachment and engages with the first receptacles 3 .
- the catching device 8 is designed in such a way that an attachment is caught in a catching position in the event of an unintentional release from the coupling position by engagement of the coupling element on the catch hook arrangement and is thereby held on the quick coupler.
- the catch device 8 comprises two separate catch hooks 9, which are not rigidly arranged on the carrier 2 of the quick coupler 1, but are connected to the carrier 1 via a type of hinge so that they can pivot about a transverse axis 10.
- the two catch hooks 9 are designed in such a way that they grip a bolt-shaped coupling element on an attachment, for example, and catch the attachment in a catch position if the quick coupler 1 is unintentionally released by engaging the coupling element on the catch hook 9 . Due to the pivoting arrangement, the catch hooks 9 can be positioned between an in figure 1 shown lower starting position and an in figure 2 Move shown upper folding position.
- the carrier 2 has connecting webs 11 protruding forward with a continuous transverse bore 12 for connecting the catch hook 9 .
- the connecting webs 11 protruding forwards on the carrier 2 below the first receptacles 3 protrude into a gap 13 between two rearwardly protruding legs 14 on the connecting part of the catch hook 9 pointing towards the carrier 2.
- Receiving holes 15 which are coaxial to the transverse bore 12 in the connecting web 11 in the assembled position of the catch hook 9.
- the horizontal transverse axis 10 is inserted into the transverse bore 12 of the connecting web 11 and is secured by a pin 16 against falling out and twisting.
- transverse axis 10 has two bearing areas 17 with a reduced diameter at its two ends.
- the transverse axis 10 is mounted in the connecting bridge 11 in such a way that the two slimmer bearing areas 17 project on both sides relative to the connecting bridge 11 .
- the catch hook 9 is rotatably mounted via two bearing bushes 18 on the two laterally projecting bearing areas 17 of the transverse axis 10 .
- the catch hooks 9 To assemble the catch hooks 9, they are first placed on the associated connecting web 11 of the carrier 2 in such a way that the receiving bores 15 are aligned with the transverse bore 12. The transverse axis 10 is then inserted into the transverse bore 12 in such a way that the two end bearing areas 17 of the transverse axis 10 protrude uniformly on both sides of the connecting web 11 . The transverse axis 10 is then fixed in this position in relation to the connecting web 11 with the aid of the pin 16 . For this purpose, the transverse axis 10 has an in figure 4 recognizable transverse bore 19 for receiving the pin 16. Finally, the two bearing bushes 18 can then be pushed onto the two bearing areas 17 of the transverse axis 10 and pressed into the receiving bores 15 in the legs 14 of the catch hook 9 .
- the catch hook 9 between a in the Figures 5 and 6 shown starting position and one in the Figures 7 and 8 move shown folding position. If, for example, an operator hits an obstacle when handling the quick coupler 1 with the catch hook 9 or uses the catch hook 9 in an unauthorized manner to support the excavator on the ground for turning or relocating, the catch hook 9 can fold in so that the connection to the carrier 2 is not so heavily loaded and the wearer is thus affected as little as possible. If the catch hook 9 is damaged, it can also be easily replaced if necessary.
- the catch hooks 9 have an upper curve 19 and a rear bearing surface 20 for bearing against a front bearing surface 21 of the carrier 2 on the rear ends of the legs 14 facing the carrier 2 .
- the catch hook 9 rests with its rear contact surfaces 20 against the stop surface 21 of the carrier 2, so that the catch hook 9 is held in this catch position.
- the catch hook 9 can rotate about the transverse axis 10 due to the rounding 19 and reach an upper folding position.
- the receptacles 3 are closed forwards by the catch hooks 9, so that an attachment can be safely caught and held if the lock is unintentionally released.
- the catch hooks 9 can be reset from the folded position to the starting position by gravity or by a return spring (not shown).
- the catch device 8 comprises two separate catch hooks 9, which are not rigid but are arranged pivotably on the carrier 2 of the quick coupler 1.
- the two catch hooks 9 are articulated on connecting webs 11 of the carrier 2 such that they can be pivoted about a transverse axis 10 .
- the connecting webs 11 have a transverse bore 12 and the catch hooks 9 have corresponding receiving bores 15 for receiving the transverse axis 10 .
- the catch hooks 9 have at their rear facing the carrier 2 in the Figures 10 and 11 recognizable recess 22 with an upper and lower inner surface 23 or 24.
- the recess 22 in catch hook 2 has a slightly greater height than the block-shaped connecting web 11, so that between the connecting web 11 and the upper and lower inner surface 23 or 24 of the Recess 22 has an upper and lower gap 25 and 26 respectively.
- a damping element 27 made of rubber or another elastic material is inserted into the upper and lower gaps 25 and 26, respectively.
- the catch hook 9 can also be pivoted relative to the carrier 2 in this embodiment. However, here the pivoting or folding movement is limited by the size of the gap 25 or 26 and the resilience of the damping element 27 .
- the catch hooks 9 can move not only upwards but also downwards here without deforming the catch hook.
- the catch hooks 9 are thus articulated on the carrier 2 so as to be flexible upwards and downwards.
- the catch device 8 comprises two separate catch hooks 9, which are not rigid but are arranged pivotably on the carrier 2 of the quick coupler 1.
- the two catch hooks 9 are also hinged here to connecting webs 11 of the carrier 2 such that they can be pivoted about transverse axes 10 .
- the transverse axles 10 are not separate bolts or pins that are corresponding transverse and receiving bores are inserted, but one-piece with the catch hooks 9 executed bearing journals, through which the catch hooks 9 are inserted into half-shell-shaped receptacles 28 on the connecting webs 11 and held from below by a counterpart 29.
- the two laterally protruding transverse axes 10 embodied as bearing journals are formed by lateral millings 30 on the catch hooks 9 .
- the catch hook On its underside, the catch hook contains a web 31 with transverse bores 32 for two heavy-duty spring pins 33 and 34, through which the counterpart 29 for holding the catch hook 9 is fastened to the connecting web 11.
- the counterpart 29 prevents the catch hook 9 with its transverse axes 10 from being able to slide upwards out of the receptacles 28 in the shape of a bearing shell.
- FIG 15 it can be seen that the connecting webs 11 at the in figure 12 embodiment shown two spaced apart, parallel legs 35 have. On the upper side of the two legs 35 separated from one another by an intermediate space 36, the half-shell-shaped receptacles 28 for the rotatable mounting of the transverse axes 10 are arranged. A catch hook 9 projecting into the intermediate space 36 with its two laterally projecting transverse axes 10 is inserted into the receptacles 28 and secured by the counterpart 29 .
- the catch hooks 9 can catch an attachment in a catch position if it is unintentionally released from the coupling position and thereby hold it securely on the quick coupler.

The object of the invention is to create a quick coupler of the type mentioned in the introduction, in which damage to the carrier caused by improper loading of the catching device can be avoided.
This problem is solved by a quick coupler having the features of
In the quick coupler according to the invention, the catch device has at least one catch hook which is pivotably connected to the carrier. The at least one catch hook is designed in such a way that it can catch an attachment coupled to the quick coupler even in the event of an unintentional release movement of a locking device and thereby prevent the attachment from being released from the quick coupler in an undesired manner. The catch hook is completely independent of the quick coupler's locking device controlled by the operator and thus offers increased safety even in the event of improper operation. The catch hook is therefore designed to catch an attachment independently of the operator for additional security.
The catch device can comprise one or more catch hooks that are separate from one another or connected to one another. In a particularly expedient embodiment, the catch device can contain two catch hooks arranged pivotably on the first receptacles of the carrier. The catch hooks can be designed as separate catch hooks that can be pivoted separately from one another. However, they can also be connected to one another.
In a robust and constructively advantageous embodiment, the catch hook can be arranged on a connecting web of the carrier so as to be pivotable about a transverse axis. For the pivotable arrangement of the catch hook, the connecting web can have a transverse bore and the catch hook can have suitable receiving bores for receiving the transverse axis.
The catch hook can expediently be rotatably mounted on the transverse axis via bearing bushes. This achieves a low-friction articulation of the catch hooks on the carrier that is well protected against wear. The transverse axis can be secured against falling out and twisting relative to the carrier by means of a pin.
In one possible embodiment, the connecting web can protrude into an intermediate space between two rearwardly projecting legs of the catch hook. At the ends of the legs pointing towards the carrier, the catch hook can have an upper curve and a rear bearing surface for bearing against a front bearing surface of the carrier.
In a further possible embodiment, the connecting web can protrude into a recess provided with an upper inner surface and a lower inner surface on the rear side of the catch hook. An upper and lower gap, in which a damping element is arranged, is preferably provided between the connecting web and the upper or lower inner surface of the recess.
However, the catch hook can also be inserted as a transverse axis in half-shell-shaped receptacles on the carrier and held from below by a counterpart via bearing pins designed in one piece with the catch hook. The half-shell-shaped receptacles for the rotatable mounting of the transverse axes can be arranged on the upper side of two spaced-apart, parallel legs on connecting webs of the carrier.
In a structurally simple design, the catch hook is designed to grip around a coupling element that engages with the first receptacles.

The
In the embodiment shown, the
In order to couple an attachment using the
