Description

The present application relates to a retaining and tightening strap for a sports shoe. More particularly, the present invention relates to a so-called “lower leg” tightening strap, since it maintains and tightens the upper part of a sports shoe against the lower leg of a user. Such straps are used in ski boots and in particular in boots which have a rigid shell and an internal comfort element called an internal liner.

In the practice of downhill skiing or alpine ski touring, the downhill phases, strictly speaking, require having a solid rear support at the lower leg of the user. This is why most ski boots include a collar, at least the rear portion of which is rigid and is mechanically supported on the bottom of the shell. In addition to the different closure devices of the shoe which allow the shell to be adjusted against the user's foot, a tightening device is provided for connecting the user's lower leg to the rear part of the collar of the shoe.

In the prior art, these lower leg straps comprise a first portion of strap, for example anchored on the lateral side of the collar, a second portion of strap, then anchored on the medial side of the collar, means for pairing the two strap portions and means for adjusting the length of one of the two strap portions. The document EP 1 484 992 describes such a device in which the pairing means consist of a loop fixed to one end of the first portion of strap and designed to receive the passage of the second portion of strap. The length adjustment means are, for their part, constituted by two complementary portions of self-gripping strip (Velcro) fixed to the second portion of strap.

It has been proposed in the prior art to include elastic elements or portions in the lower leg tightening devices. Depending on the elastic modulus of the elastic elements present in the clamping devices, more comfort or more performance will be obtained, but it will not be possible to obtain both at the same time. This is particularly the case in the ski boot disclosed in the document EP 1 087 676 , in which the implementation of a tightening device with an elastic portion is supposed to provide a surplus of energy improving the performance of the skier. On the other hand, if the elastic portion turns out to be too loose, the user will benefit from better comfort to the detriment of performance.

The document WO2016 / 076621 describes a lower leg strap for a ski boot which provides means for preventing too great an extension of an elastic portion of the strap.

The object of the present invention is to provide a lower leg tightening device which will in turn improve comfort or performance.

The objective of the present invention is also to provide a device for tightening the lower leg for a sports shoe which allows greater modularity of use for the user.

Finally, the objective of the invention is also to simplify the use of the lower leg tightening device for the user.

The invention is defined by the characteristics of independent claim 1. Dependent claims 2 to 10 define particular embodiments of the shoe according to the invention.

Preferably, a third anchoring means is provided to connect the second portion of strap to the shell. This third anchoring means may comprise a flange and possibly a loop through which the second portion of strap passes.

In one embodiment of the invention, the second anchoring means comprises a ring integral with the shell and through which passes the second portion of strap.

In an alternative embodiment, the second anchoring means comprises a hook integral with one of the following two elements; the shell or the second portion of strap, said hook cooperating with a ring integral with the other of said two elements.

The means for pairing and adjusting in length may be in any form known for this type of means. By way of example and in a nonlimiting manner, the following two configurations can in particular be considered:
  • matching means in the form of a loop and length adjustment means in the form of a Velcro-type hook-and-loop strip,
  • combined matching and length adjustment means in the form of a loop claw.

The invention will be better understood in the light of the description to which the figures are appended:
  • The figure 1 is a perspective view of a ski boot according to the invention.
  • The figures 2 and 3 are partial sectional views of the shoe of the figure 1 according to a first embodiment of the invention.
  • The figures 4 and 5 are partial sectional views of the shoe of the figure 1 according to a second embodiment of the invention.
  • The figures 6 and 7 are partial sectional views according to a third embodiment of the invention.

The figure 1 describes a ski boot equipped with an optional strap according to a first embodiment of the invention.

The ski boot 1 consists of a rigid shell 2, itself comprising a bottom shell 22 surmounted by a collar 21. The bottom shell 22 and the collar 21 are for example obtained by injection of plastic material of the type PA, PU, PE or any other injectable material. They can also be produced using composite materials, in particular using fibers (carbon, glass, etc.) embedded in a thermosetting or thermoplastic resin. An internal liner 3 is inserted inside the shell 2 in order to ensure the comfort of the user. The liner is made up of an assembly, glued and / or sewn and / or welded, of various elements, the details of which will not be repeated in this description.

The ski boot 1 comprises a plurality of closing device 5 as well as an optional tightening device 4.

The figures 2 and 4 describe a partial section of the boot along a substantially horizontal plane. The collar 21 comprises a rear part 211 intended to be located opposite the rear part of the user's lower leg. This posterior part 211 is extended respectively on the medial side and on the lateral side by medial and radial overlaps 212, 213. The sliding of the medial overlap 212 on the radial overlap 213 makes it possible to adapt the circumference of the collar 21 to the user.

The optional tightening device 4 of the user's lower leg according to the first embodiment comprises a first portion of strap 41 fixed by means of a first anchoring means 43 to the collar 21. In the specific case , the first anchor 43 is integrally and essentially permanently attached to the medial side of the collar. The first anchoring means 43 can for example comprise a rivet or a screw-nut assembly. In a variant not shown, means are provided for modifying the precise position of the first anchoring means. For example, a high position and a low position could be provided for better adaptation to the morphology of the user. Although a modification of the position of the first anchoring means can be provided, it is nevertheless considered that the fixing of the first anchoring means is essentially permanent insofar as the first portion of strap will always be anchored to the collar, however. whatever the precise position.

The optional tightening device according to the invention comprises a second portion of strap 42 which, together with the first portion of strap 41, surrounds the user's lower leg. Pairing means 44 and means 45 for adjusting the length of one of the two strap portions are provided to ensure adaptation to the circumference desired by the user. In the specific case of the first embodiment of the invention, the pairing means 44 consist of a loop 441 which is fixed to the end of the first portion of strap 41 and through which passes the second portion of strap. 42. The length adjustment means 45 comprise two strips of self-gripping material, for example of the Velcro strip type, which are fixed to the second portion of strap 42.

Le crochet 461 est fixé au collier 21 par l'intermédiaire d'une deuxième bande 422.According to the invention, a second anchoring means 46, not permanent, is provided to connect the second portion of strap 42 to the collar on the side opposite to the side on which the first anchoring means 43 is fixed. In the present case, the second anchoring means 46 comprises a hook 461 capable of cooperating with a ring 462. The ring 462 is fixed to the second portion of strap 42 by means of a first strip 421. The hook 461 is fixed to the collar 21 by means of a second band 422.

L'autre extrémité de la bride 472 est fixée au collier 21.Optionally, a third anchoring means 47 is provided between the second portion of strap 42 and the collar. This third means of anchoring is essentially permanent. That is to say that in the daily use of the ski boot, the user will not have to undo it. In the first embodiment described in figures 2 and 3 , the third anchoring means 47 consists of a loop 471 fixed to one end of a flange 472. The other end of the flange 472 is fixed to the collar 21.

In the second embodiment described in figures 4 and 5 , the third anchoring means consists of a simple flange 472, one end of which is fixed to the second portion of strap 42 and the other end of the flange is fixed to the collar 21.

The third anchoring means 47 guarantees, among other things, better positioning of the second portion of strap 42, in particular in the configuration of the optional strap which will be described below with reference to figures 3 and 5 .

In the optional strap configuration described in figures 2 and 4 , the second anchoring means is in a “connected” state and the strap behaves like a lower leg strap of the prior art. The user exerts a traction on the free end 424 of the second portion of strap 42. This traction is transmitted, on the one hand, to the medial part of the collar 21, by means of the pairing means 44 and of the first portion of strap 41 and, on the other hand, to the lateral part of the collar by means of the second anchoring means 46. When the desired circumference is reached, the user folds the free end 424 so that the two velcro strips of the length adjustment means 45 interconnect with one another and that the tightening is maintained.

The user will preferably choose this configuration when he wants performance, that is to say in particular for skiing more quickly and in a more committed manner. In this configuration, the liner, and therefore the user's lower leg, are firmly held in the hard shell. In terms of proprioception, the skier is aware of the support offered by the shell 2 simultaneously forwards and backwards.

The figures 3 and 5 show the ski boot in a second configuration. The second anchoring means 46 is in a “disconnected” state. In fact, the hook 461 is no longer a prisoner of the ring 462. So that, on the lateral side of the boot, there is no longer any connection between the collar and the second portion of the strap. Consequently, even when the lower leg tightening device is tight, the lower leg enjoys a certain laxity because the liner 3 is no longer pressed against the rear part 211 of the collar.

The user will preferably choose this configuration when he wants more comfort. In this configuration, the liner, and therefore the user's leg, retains the support of the front part of the shell.

The figures 6 and 7 partially describe a third embodiment of the invention. The third embodiment differs from the second embodiment, firstly by means of pairing 44 of the first loop portion 41 with the second loop portion 42, as well as by adjustment means 45 which are different from those present in the second embodiment.

In fact, in the third embodiment of the invention, the pairing means 44 and the length adjustment means 45 are found united on the same element called the claw buckle.

The claw buckle includes a buckle 441 attached to the free end of the second strap portion 42, and a claw 451 which is pivotally mounted in the buckle, such that when pulling the first strap portion 41 into the direction of tightening, the claw 451 rotates to allow the strap to slide while when the strap attempts to slide in the direction of loosening, the claw positions itself in such a way that it obstructs the passage and prevents sliding.

In fact, this one is no longer constituted by a simple ring 462 through which passes (cf. figure 6 ) or does not pass (cf. figure 7 ) the first portion of strap 41.

A third anchoring means is provided between the second portion of strap 42 and the collar. This third means of anchoring is permanent. In the present case, the third anchoring means 47 consists of a flange 472 fixed on the one hand to the second portion of strap 42 and on the other hand to the collar 21.
