Definitions

  • the invention relates to a textile tool which is set up for use in a textile machine.
  • the textile tools are used, for example, for loop formation or for handling or guiding a thread or a thread section in the textile machine.

The invention relates to a textile tool which is set up for use in a textile machine. The textile tools are used, for example, for loop formation or for handling or guiding a thread or a thread section in the textile machine. Such textile tools can be, for example, machine needles, such as machine sewing needles, machine knitting needles, machine knitting needles, machine tufting needles, sinkers, perforated needles, shoulder needles, thread combs, etc. (may be considered). For example, textile tools of this type are subject to high wear and tear during loop formation for the production of technical textiles with abrasive yarns. In the case of sewing, knitting and / or tufting needles, a high level of wear can also occur due to solid or abrasive material through which the needle is pierced during the textile manufacturing process.

DE 101 26 118 A1 describes a wear part with a core material that is provided with a thin wear protection layer. A mediating layer can optionally be present between the wear protection layer and the core material.

In order to be able to produce high-quality textiles, textile tools that are already showing significant wear and tear must be replaced in good time. Otherwise there may be errors or irregularities in the textile product produced. Despite the use of wear protection layers, wear and tear on the textile tool cannot be avoided, only reduced. The service life or service life of a textile tool can vary greatly depending on the specific use, so that it is difficult for an operator to determine when a textile tool is to be replaced in a textile machine.

It can therefore be seen as the object of the invention to create a textile tool in which the state of wear can be easily determined.

This task is according to a textile tool Claim 1 solved. The textile tool can be produced by a method according to claim 15.

The textile tool according to the invention has a working section at which the textile tool comes into contact with a thread, with several threads, fiber material and / or a fleece. The working section is set up to guide or position the thread or to act on the thread in a suitable manner during textile production. The textile tool in particular also has a holding section which is set up to arrange the textile tool in a textile machine and to work together with corresponding holding means or bearing means of the textile machine for this purpose.

The textile tool can be, for example, a machine knitting needle, a machine knitting needle, a machine tufting needle, a machine sewing needle, a sinker, a perforated needle, a transfer needle, a thread comb, etc.

The textile tool has a tool core that consists of a core material. A metallic material or a metallic alloy, such as a steel alloy, is preferably used as the core material.

The tool core is at least partially provided with a wear protection layer. The wear protection layer covers the tool core at least in the working section of the textile tool. The wear protection layer consists of a material which differs from the core material of the tool core and which, in particular, has a greater hardness than the core material. The wear protection layer For example, a hard chrome layer, in particular a galvanic hard chrome layer, aluminum oxide layer, a carbon layer, a DLC layer, PVD layer, CVD layer, a carbidic layer such as a titanium carbide layer (TiC) or a nitridic layer such as an aluminum titanium nitride layer (AlTiN) or a titanium carbon nitride layer (TiCN). The DLC layer can be, for example, a hydrogen-containing amorphous carbon layer (aC: H).

An indicator layer is present between the wear protection layer and the core material in at least one indicator zone. The indicator layer can be present in the entire area in which the wear protection layer is also present. The indicator layer can also only be present in the at least one indicator zone in the working section which does not cover the entire area on which the tool core is covered with the wear protection layer. The at least one indicator zone can thus be smaller than the area of the tool core area covered by the wear protection layer. The at least one indicator zone is preferably located at least in the areas in the working section in which the greatest wear occurs in the case of a textile tool when used as intended.

The color of the indicator layer is selected so that the visual appearance of the indicator layer differs slightly from the wear protection layer and also from the tool core. This recognizability can be achieved by a sufficient difference in wavelength and / or the contrast between the color of the wear protection layer - or also of the tool core - and the indicator layer will.

Die Berechnung erfolgt nach folgender Gleichung: K 1 = L I L V L I + K V .

Figure imgb0001
The indicator layer can have a color that has a narrow-band wavelength spectrum, the bandwidth of which is in particular less than 30 nm or less than 20 nm or less than 10 nm, the bandwidth being completely in the range of the light visible to the human eye. Additionally or alternatively, a first contrast K 1 can be at least 0.3 or at least 0.5 or at least 0.7 depending on the mean luminance of the wear protection layer L v and the mean luminance of the indicator layer L I when illuminated with white light. The calculation is based on the following equation: K 1 = L. I. - L. V L. I. + K V .
Figure imgb0001

Die Berechnung erfolgt nach folgender Gleichung: K 2 = L I L K L I + L K .

Additionally or alternatively, a second contrast K 2 depending on the mean luminance of the core material of the tool core L K and the mean luminance of the indicator layer L I when illuminated with white light can be at least 0.3 or at least 0.5 or at least 0.7. The calculation is based on the following equation: K 2 = L. I. - L. K L. I. + L. K .
Figure imgb0002

The indicator layer preferably has a color that is different from metallic colors, such as, for example, anthracite, gray, silver, which can be recognized by the eye without optical aids. The indicator layer preferably has a signal color, such as red, orange, for example or yellow.

In one embodiment, the indicator layer can also contain luminescent material, in particular phosphorescent material. The luminescence can be excited by illumination with a specific light wavelength, for example by means of UV light.

If the wear protection layer is removed from the at least one indicator zone when a textile tool is used, the indicator layer present underneath becomes visible. An operator of the textile machine can therefore quickly identify a severely worn point on the textile tool. If the indicator layer is visible from the outside, the wear protection layer is damaged or completely removed at this point and the textile tool must be replaced at this point at the latest. Such wear was previously difficult to detect with the naked eye, because the core material and the wear protection layer usually do not or hardly differ from one another optically. Up to now, it has not been possible to quickly and easily record the state of wear of a textile tool, particularly in factory halls. The visually clearly distinguishable indicator layer as an intermediate layer between the core material and the wear protection layer means that heavy wear can be identified quickly and easily. The operator can act immediately before the quality of the textile product produced is adversely affected or the textile tool breaks or damaged, which in some circumstances can lead to high scrap costs or longer machine downtimes.

In particular, the indicator layer has no wear protection effect and can have a hardness that is less than the hardness of the wear protection layer and optionally also less than the hardness of the core material of the tool core.

In some exemplary embodiments, the textile tool can have a thread recess in the working section which is set up to guide a thread, such as, for example, an eye of a needle, a through hole of a perforated needle, a recess on a sinker bounded by opposite edges, a hook area of a machine knitting needle, etc.

It is preferred if the indicator layer has a first layer thickness and the wear protection layer has a second layer thickness. The term layer thickness should be understood to mean the thickness of the respective layer which the layer has outside of edge zones, where the layer thickness can decrease depending on the manufacturing process, when the textile tool is not worn. The first layer thickness and the second layer thickness are of different sizes at at least one, several or all of the considered locations in the at least one indicator zone. The first layer thickness of the indicator layer is preferably smaller, for example at least a factor of 2 or 5 or 10 smaller than the second layer thickness of the wear protection layer.

The second layer thickness of the wear protection layer can vary within the working section. For example, the second layer thickness of the wear protection layer in the interior of a thread recess can be smaller than outside a thread recess.

It is preferred if the second layer thickness of the wear protection layer inside the working section and outside the thread recess is at least 1.0 μm. In a preferred embodiment, the second layer thickness of the wear protection layer within the working section is a maximum of 15 μm. For example, the second layer thickness can be 11 μm with a tolerance of + -4 μm.

It is advantageous if the first layer thickness of the indicator layer is at least 0.1 µm and preferably a maximum of 1.0 µm.

In one embodiment of the textile tool, at least a part of the holding section can be free from the wear protection layer and the indicator layer.

The wear protection layer and / or the indicator layer can be applied, for example, by a physical or chemical process, such as a PVD process, a CVD process or a PACVD process. The indicator layer can also be applied by a sputtering process. The wear protection layer can also be a galvanic layer and applied by an electroplating process.

It is preferred if the indicator layer is applied directly to the core material. In addition, it is preferred if no further intermediate layers are present between the indicator layer and the wear protection layer, but at least the wear protection layer in which at least one indicator zone is applied directly to the indicator layer. If the at least one indicator zone covers a smaller area than the wear protection layer, the wear protection layer can be applied directly to the tool core outside the at least one indicator zone.

In one embodiment, the indicator layer can have a plurality of indicator zones and / or have a contiguous indicator zone with perforations or recesses, as a result of which at least one connecting zone is formed outside the at least one indicator zone. In the at least one connection zone, there is a direct connection between the wear protection layer and the core material of the tool core. A connection zone can, for example, be completely delimited by the at least one indicator zone at the edge of the connection zone. With such a configuration, a direct connection between the wear protection layer and the tool core can be established in the at least one connection zone or outside the at least one indicator zone. This embodiment is particularly useful when the indicator layer provides less strong adhesion to the wear protection layer than the core material of the tool core.

A textile tool described above is produced as follows:
First, a tool core is made from the core material. The indicator layer is then preferably applied directly to the tool core in the at least one indicator zone. Finally, the wear protection layer applied in the at least one indicator zone on the indicator layer and optionally outside the at least one indicator zone on the tool core. It is possible here for the wear protection layer as a whole to be applied exclusively to the at least one indicator layer. Alternatively, the wear protection layer outside the at least one indicator zone, for example in at least one connection zone and / or outside the working section, can also be connected directly to the tool core and / or another intermediate layer.

In the present invention, the indicator layer does not serve to protect the textile tool from wear. It can therefore have a lower hardness than the wear protection layer and / or than the core material of the tool core. In the case of the indicator layer, it is particularly important that it can be visually differentiated from the color of the wear protection layer.

Advantageous embodiments of the invention emerge from the dependent claims, the description and the drawings. Preferred exemplary embodiments of the invention are explained in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings. Show it:
  • Figures 1-4 in each case a highly schematic basic representation of an exemplary embodiment of a textile tool,
  • Figure 5 a schematic representation of a tool core, an indicator layer and a wear protection layer of a textile tool according to the invention in one wear-free condition,
  • Figure 6 the schematic layer structure according to FIG. 5, the wear protection layer being removed by wear at one point and the indicator layer becoming visible,
  • Figures 7-9 in each case a schematic diagram for producing the layer structure in an alternative exemplary embodiment.

In the Figures 1-4 an embodiment of a textile tool 10 is shown in a highly schematic manner. The textile tool 10 can be, for example, a machine sewing needle 11 ( Figure 1 ), a punch needle 12 ( Figure 2 ), such as a perforated needle for a knitting machine, a sinker 13 ( Figure 3 ) for a knitting machine or a machine knitting needle 14 ( Figure 4 ) Act. As an alternative to the illustrated exemplary embodiments, the textile tool 10 could also be a tufting needle, a machine knitting needle, a transfer needle or the like.

Each textile tool 10 has a working section 15 which is set up to come into contact with a thread or several threads during the intended use of the textile tool 10 and to influence or guide this thread. In the illustrated exemplary embodiments, the textile tool 10 has a thread recess 16 in the working section 15, which is designed to guide the thread during the manufacture of a textile product. The thread recess 16 in the machine sewing needle 11, for example, by a thread eye, be formed in the machine needle 12 by a through hole in the working section 15, in the sinker 13 by an indentation in the front area of the sinker 13 and in the machine knitting needle 14 by the hook inner area.

Each textile tool 10 also has a holding section 17 with which it can be held or stored in the textile machine in question.

The textile tool 10 has a multilayer structure. It has a tool core 20 made of a core material. The core material consists for example of a metallic alloy, preferably a steel alloy. However, this core material is not sufficiently resistant to wear. The textile tool 10 is therefore provided with a wear protection layer 21 at least in the working section 15. The wear protection layer 21 completely covers the tool core 20 in the working section 15. The wear protection layer 21 can optionally also extend outside of the working section 15.

For example, a carbon-containing layer, such as a DLC layer, can be used as a wear protection layer. The DLC layer can be designed as a hydrogen-containing amorphous carbon layer (aC: H). Alternatively, a hard chrome layer, a carbidic and / or nitridic layer can be used as wear protection layer 21. In embodiments of the wear protection layer 21, it can be a titanium carbide layer, an aluminum titanium nitride layer or a titanium carbon nitride layer. The wear protection layer 21 can also be designed as an aluminum oxide layer. The wear protection layer 21 can be applied in a physical or chemical process, such as a PVD process, a CVD process or a PACVD process. The wear protection layer 21 is preferably electrically insulating.

At least in at least one indicator zone 22 within the working section 15 there is an indicator layer 23 immediately below the wear protection layer 21 of the textile tool 10 are subject to the greatest wear, for example edges or inner regions of the thread recess 16.

The color of the indicator layer 23 can be distinguished from the wear protection layer 21 and preferably also from the core material of the tool core 20. In particular, the color differentiation is so pronounced that a viewer does not need any optical magnification aids, such as optically magnifying cameras, microscopes, magnifying glasses, etc., in order to be able to distinguish the indicator layer 23 from the wear protection layer 21. The indicator layer 23 is preferably colored in a signal color, such as red, yellow, orange or also green, blue, etc. The wavelength of the color of the indicator layer 23 and / or the contrast to the wear protection layer 21 or the core material is selected so that an operator of a textile machine can perceive the color difference in particular without optical aids.

In one embodiment, the indicator layer 23 can contain luminescent, and preferably phosphorescent, particles or materials. As a result, it can be easily and clearly recognized when the textile tool is illuminated.

In Figure 5 the layer structure in the at least one indicator zone 22 in the case of an unused textile tool 10 or a wear-resistant layer 21 that has not been worn is illustrated. Outside an edge area where the layer thickness can decrease continuously, the indicator layer 23 has a first layer thickness d1 and the wear protection layer has a second layer thickness d2 as long as the layers 21, 23 are not yet subject to wear. The two layer thicknesses d1, d2 are of different sizes at the same viewing point within the at least one indicator zone 22 and the first layer thickness d1 of the indicator layer 23 is preferably smaller than the second layer thickness d2. The second layer thickness d2 can vary within the working section 15. For example, the second layer thickness d2 inside the thread recess 16 can be different from the second layer thickness d2 outside the thread recess 16. For example, the second layer thickness d2 inside the thread recess 16 can be smaller than outside the thread recess 16.

The first layer thickness d1 of the indicator layer 23 can vary or be constant within the at least one indicator zone 22.

In Figure 6 is schematically illustrated a situation in which the wear protection layer 21 at a wear point 30 due to wear, in particular by abrasive contact with a thread, with several threads, with fiber material and / or with a fleece. The indicator layer 23 is therefore exposed at the wear point 30. Since the indicator layer 23 is visible at the wear point 30, the high wear of the textile tool 10 and the replacement of the worn textile tool can be quickly and easily recognized by the optical or color difference (wavelength and / or contrast) between the wear protection layer 21 and the indicator layer 23 10 can be initiated in the textile machine. This prevents the textile tool 10 from breaking or from wear and tear to defects or loss of quality in the textile product produced.

In a preferred embodiment, the second layer thickness d2 outside the thread recess can be at least 1.0 μm up to a maximum of 15.0 μm. Within the thread recess 16, in particular in the case of very small thread recess dimensions, the second layer thickness d2 can also be less than 1.0 μm.

Die maximale Dicke der Indikatorschicht 23 innerhalb der wenigstens einen Indikatorzone beträgt vorzugsweise 1,0 µm.The first layer thickness d1 of the indicator layer 23 is preferably at least 0.1 μm at each point of the at least one indicator zone 22. The maximum thickness of the indicator layer 23 within the at least one indicator zone is preferably 1.0 μm.

The indicator layer 23 is preferably applied directly to the core material of the tool core 20 within the at least one indicator zone 22. In the at least one indicator zone 22, the wear protection layer 21 is applied directly to the indicator layer 23. Outside the at least one indicator zone 22 the wear protection layer 21, if it is present there, can be applied directly to the tool core 20.

In the exemplary embodiment described here, the wear protection layer 21 forms the outermost layer in the working section 15 in a state that has not yet been subjected to wear.

In the exemplary embodiment, the wear protection layer 21 has a greater hardness than the core material of the tool core 20. The hardness of the indicator layer 23 is, for example, less than that of the wear protection layer 21 and / or less than that of the core material of the tool core 20. The colored indicator layer 23 only has the task of indicating whether the wear protection layer 21 has been completely removed at a wear point 30. It is not set up to protect the tool core 20 from wear.

In one embodiment, the indicator layer 23 and the wear protection layer 21 can be present in the entire working section 15. During production, the tool core 20 is initially provided. The indicator layer 23 is then applied by a chemical process, physical process, galvanic process or a sputtering process. Following the application of the indicator layer 23, the wear protection layer 21 is applied by a physical or chemical deposition process.

In the Figures 7-9 an alternative embodiment of the layer structure is illustrated. There are several indicator zones 22 are present or a contiguous indicator zone 22 has perforations, each of which forms a connecting zone 31 ( Figure 9 ). In this connection zone 31 there is no indicator layer 23 within the working section 15. In these connection zones 31, the wear protection layer 21 is in direct contact with the tool core 20. Such a configuration can be useful if the adhesion of the wear protection layer 21 can be impaired by the indicator layer 23. In the connection zones 31, the wear protection layer 21 is in direct connection with the tool core 20 and forms a firm adhesive bond.

The connection zones 31 are in Figure 9 only illustrated schematically. The contour and the size of each connection zone 31 can be adapted to the mechanical requirements. The sections with the at least one indicator zone 22 are selected in such a way that they are located in areas with high wear, so that the wear is visible at a wear point 30 through the protruding indicator layer 23. The at least one connection zone 31 can be completely enclosed by the at least one indicator zone 22.

The production of the at least one indicator zone 22 and the at least one connection zone 31 according to FIG Figure 9 can take place in that when the indicator layer 23 is applied, the areas which later form the connection zones 31 are each masked by masking material 32 which is applied directly to the tool core 20. The indicator layer 23 can then be applied adjacent to the masking material 32 in the at least one indicator zone 22 ( Figure 7 ). Following that the masking material 32 can be removed ( Figure 8 ). As a result, perforations 33 are produced in the indicator layer 23, at which the tool core 20 is exposed and is not covered by the indicator layer 23. If the wear protection layer 21 is then applied, it penetrates the perforations 33 and forms a direct connection with the tool core 20 in the connection zones 31 created in the process ( Figure 9 ). Thus, a connection zone 31 within the working section 15 can be completely enclosed by one or more indicator zones 22.

The invention relates to a textile tool which is set up for use in a textile machine, for example a knitting machine, knitting machine or sewing machine. The textile tool 10 has a working section 15, which in particular has a thread recess 16 for guiding a thread. In the working section 15, the textile tool 10 comes into contact with the thread, with several threads, fiber material and / or a fleece and is subject to increased wear. A wear protection layer 21 is therefore applied to a tool core 20 at least in the working section 15. Between the wear protection layer 21 and the tool core 20 directly adjoining the wear protection layer 21, an indicator layer 23 is arranged in at least one indicator zone 22 in the working section 15. The color of the indicator layer 23 can be distinguished from the wear protection layer 21 and preferably also from the tool core 20, in particular without optically magnifying aids.
