Definitions
- the invention relates to a fuel injection valve such as is preferably used for injecting fuel directly into a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine.
- fuel is fed from a high-pressure accumulator (rail) to the fuel injection valves via a high-pressure line, with the opening and closing of the injection openings of the injector usually being controlled by an actuator, for example a piezo actuator or a magnetic actuator .
- an actuator for example a piezo actuator or a magnetic actuator .
- Common rail injectors have the advantage that the injection behavior can be controlled very precisely via the actuator so that complex injection processes that are particularly favorable for combustion can also be implemented. In this way, the injection process can be optimized, which in turn contributes to a reduction in pollutant emissions.
- the DE 10 2007 025 617 A1 discloses a common rail injector which, in addition to the high pressure bore extending essentially parallel to the injector axis, has a separate vibration damping bore.
- the vibration damping bore is located here in the injector in the high pressure area and counteracts any pressure vibrations that occur by dampening them through the periodic inflow and outflow of fuel into the vibration damping bore.
- DE 10 2014 219 199 A1 discloses a cylindrical damping element which is connected, for example, laterally from the outside to the valve clamping element or the nozzle body clamping nut.
- the invention is based on the object of developing a fuel injection valve, in particular a common rail injector, according to the preamble of claim 1 in such a way that pressure fluctuations within the fuel injection valve are reduced and the injection behavior of the injector is no longer impaired. This enables stable multiple injections to be realized.
- the fuel injection valve comprises an injector housing in which a high pressure area and a low pressure area are formed.
- the fuel injection valve has a nozzle needle which interacts with a sealing seat to open and close at least one injection opening.
- the fuel injection valve has a control valve which Can divert fuel from a control chamber formed in the high pressure area into the low pressure area.
- a damping element for damping pressure oscillations is arranged in the low pressure area.
- the injector housing of the fuel injection valve comprises a valve body and a nozzle body, in which valve body a valve piece is arranged.
- the valve piece comprises a connection in the form of an outlet throttle from the high pressure area into the low pressure area.
- valve piece is fixed in the valve body with a valve clamping element.
- damping element is designed as a cylindrical insert which is arranged directly in the low-pressure area between the valve piece and the valve clamping element.
- Pressure oscillations form vapor-filled cavities in the fuel or dissolve them.
- the damping element is designed as a membrane delimiting and sealing a damping space.
- the membrane is preferably made of a metal, preferably in wave form, in order to absorb the pressure oscillations.
- the membrane can be welded to the damping chamber, for example. However, this weld seam must be applied in such a way that no fuel can penetrate into the damping chamber. Otherwise, the damping function cannot be guaranteed over the entire service life of the fuel injection valve.
- the damping space is filled with a gas, preferably air.
- PA polyamide
- PA foam retains its strength up to temperatures of 210 degrees Celsius and is therefore suitable for use in a fuel injection valve.
- the control valve of the fuel injection valve which is designed as a solenoid valve, has a solenoid.
- the control valve comprises an armature bolt and a magnet armature.
- the magnet armature can be moved via the magnet coil, whereby the opening process of the nozzle needle is initiated by means of pressure changes in the fuel injection valve.
- valve piece has an end region which faces away from the nozzle needle and is designed as a hollow cylinder, in which the magnet armature is guided.
- valve piece also has an end region facing the nozzle needle, in which the end region of the nozzle needle facing away from the sealing seat is guided.
- the nozzle body delimits a high-pressure space which is formed in the high-pressure area and in which the nozzle needle is received.
- a return spring is arranged in the high-pressure chamber and is supported on the one hand on a shoulder of the nozzle needle and on the other hand on the nozzle body. The return spring acts on the nozzle needle with a force in the direction of the at least one injection opening.
- Figure 1 shows a fuel injection valve according to the invention with a damping element not according to the invention with an injector housing 1 which comprises a valve body 2 and a nozzle body 3.
- the control valve 30 comprises an armature bolt 17 and a magnet armature 19.
- a residual air gap disk 24 is arranged between the magnet armature 19 and the magnet core 16, which prevents the magnet armature 19 from resting directly on the magnet core 16 when the magnet coil 14 is active.
- a spring 36 is arranged between the magnet armature 19 and the remaining air gap disk 24, which spring acts on the magnet armature 19 with a force counter to the direction of the magnet coil 14.
- the solenoid 14 and the control valve 30 are also arranged in a low-pressure region 13.
- a valve piece 18 is arranged in the valve body 2 and is fixed in the valve body 2 with a valve clamping element 20.
- the valve piece 18 has an end region which faces away from the nozzle body 3 and is designed as a hollow cylinder 26 in which the magnet armature 19 is guided.
- the end region of the valve piece 18 designed as a hollow cylinder 26 has a drainage channel 22.
- the valve piece 18 also has a central part 27 in which a further outlet throttle 23 is formed.
- the low-pressure area 13 is formed in a high-pressure area 29
- Control room 8 can be connected.
- the valve body 2 together with the nozzle body 3 comprises a nozzle needle 5 which, for opening and closing at least one injection opening 6, interacts with a sealing seat 11 formed on the nozzle body 3.
- a high pressure chamber 7 is formed in the nozzle body 3, in which a return spring 9 is arranged. This is supported on the one hand on the nozzle body 3 and on the other hand on a shoulder 10 formed on the nozzle needle 5.
- the return spring 9 acts on the nozzle needle 5 with a force in the direction of the at least one injection opening 6.
- the nozzle needle 5 is received in the valve piece 18 with its end section facing away from the sealing seat 11.
- This is designed as a hollow cylinder with its end region 28 facing the nozzle needle 5.
- the end region 28 of the valve piece 18 facing the nozzle needle 5 and the end section of the nozzle needle 5 facing away from the sealing seat 11 delimit the control chamber 8.
- This is connected via an inlet throttle 32 to an inlet channel 12 which can be filled with high-pressure fuel.
- the high pressure chamber 7 is also connected to the inlet channel 12.
- the magnet armature 19 moves in the direction of the magnet coil 14.
- the magnet armature 19 lifts off the sealing seat 33 of the valve piece 18 and thus enables fuel to flow out of the control chamber 8 formed in the high-pressure area 29 via the Discharge throttle 23 in the middle part 27 of the valve piece 18 in the direction of the discharge channel 22 and thus into the low-pressure area 13.
- the nozzle needle 5 lifts off the sealing seat 11 and releases the at least one injection opening 6 so that fuel can escape from the high-pressure chamber 7 into a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine.
- the magnet armature 19 moves due to the force of the spring 36 in the direction of the valve piece 18 and rests on the sealing seat 33 of the valve piece 18 again, so that no more fuel can flow from the control chamber 8 into the low-pressure area 13. Due to the high pressure fuel flowing through the inlet throttle 32, the pressure in the control chamber 8 rises again, so that the nozzle needle 5 again experiences a force in the direction of the at least one injection opening 6 and closes it again.
- valve piece 18 in Figure 1 at least one damping element 21 for damping pressure oscillations in the low-pressure region 13.
- This damping element 21 is in the Figure 1
- the illustrated embodiment is formed in the end region of the valve piece 18 which is designed as a hollow cylinder 26 and faces away from the nozzle body 3.
- the damping element 21 is formed from a membrane 25 and a damping space 31.
- the membrane 25 is preferably, as in Figure 2 shown, made of a wave-shaped (37) metal, which can absorb pressure oscillations generated in the fuel injection valve. Due to the wave shape, the membrane 25 can absorb the pressure oscillations more easily. In principle, other shapes as well as another material, for example plastics, are possible, which ensure good absorption of the pressure vibrations.
- the damping chamber 31 is filled with a gas, preferably air, and is sealed off by the membrane from the fuel located in the fuel injection valve.
- the membrane can be attached to the damping chamber 31, for example, by means of a welding process. However, the weld seam must be designed in such a way that no fuel can penetrate into the damping chamber 31.
- the damping space 31 can also be filled with a PA (polyamide) foam.
- PA polyamide
- This closed-cell foam does not allow a medium, for example fuel, to penetrate it.
- the cushioning properties of the PA foam are thus retained. Due to its high strength up to temperatures of 210 degrees Celsius, it is particularly well suited for use in fuel injection valves.
- the shape of the damping space 31 can be designed as a bore or a groove in the damping element 21.
- FIG. 3 shows the fuel injection valve according to the invention with a damping element not according to the invention Figure 1 in an enlarged view in the area of the valve piece 18.
- the damping element 21 is the same as in FIG Figure 1 in the end region of the valve piece which is designed as a hollow cylinder 26 and faces away from the nozzle body 3.
- two damping elements 21 are present, so that the second damping element 35 is arranged in the damping space 31 of the first damping element 34 and protrudes with its membrane into the damping space 31 of the first damping element 34. It can thus be ensured that pressure oscillations with a large amplitude, which could not be damped sufficiently by the first damping element 34, are also canceled out.
- FIG 4 also shows the fuel injection valve according to the invention with a damping element not according to the invention Figure 1 in an enlarged view in the area of the valve piece 18.
- the damping element 21 is arranged in the middle part 27 of the valve piece 18. In principle, however, it is not necessary to arrange the damping element 21 in the valve piece 18. It can also be arranged in another component in the low-pressure region 13 of the fuel injection valve.
- the damping element (21) is designed as a cylindrical insert (38) between the valve piece (18) and the valve clamping element (20).
- the damping element 21 is designed as a cylindrical insert 38, the cylinder jacket forming the damping space 31 and the membrane 25.
- the insert 38 is, as in FIG Figure 5b shown, fixed between the valve piece 18 and the valve clamping element 20, for example glued or welded.
