Description

The invention relates to a method for applying flat material pieces of the desired shape to an embroidery base by means of an embroidery machine or sewing machine cut out a material applied to the embroidery base according to the preamble of patent claim 7.

Embroidery machines in the sense of the invention mean large embroidery machines with a large number of up to a thousand or more needles, with which embroidery patterns are embroidered on an embroidery base which can extend over the entire length of the machine. Small embroidery machines with horizontally arranged embroidery bases and quilting machines are also referred to as embroidery machines. Among are sewing machines that can be embroidered on Machines understood that also produce embroidery patterns on an embroidery base clamped in an embroidery frame, which can be driven in the X / Y direction by a drive device. In all machines, ie the embroidery machine and the sewing machine, the needle can be driven in the Z direction and the embroidery base can be moved in the X / Y direction with respect to the needles.

There are no limits to the imagination when embroidering, which is why often not only embroidery consisting of shorter or longer stitches is made, but also that pieces of material, so-called applications made of the same or a different or different color material, are additionally embroidered on and then cut out.

Until a few years ago, it was customary to carry out cutting either by hand or with simple hand-held machines.

It is also known recently to use a laser to cut out the applications on the embroidery machines. A laser beam is controlled by the machine electronics and guided with mirrors and focused on the application with lenses so that the cutting can be carried out with the focal point placed in the application. Such a device is for example from the DE 10 2005 050 482 known by Saurer. The disadvantage of this device is the huge effort and the low cutting performance. The effort is in a along the Box-shaped device which can be moved by the embroidery machine and which comprises a space closed above the embroidery for extracting the gases and other pollutants produced by cutting or burning out the application, and the complex electronics and optics for guiding the laser beam, the focal point of which is caused by the deflection of the laser beam along the Embroidery needs to be corrected on an ongoing basis. The low productivity is that only a small field of the embroidery of a maximum of 50x50 cm can be processed and then the cutting device is adjusted along the embroidery machine and adjusted to the existing embroidery at the new location. In addition, cutting with the known lasers becomes more expensive because a separating layer must be inserted between the embroidery base and the application, which prevents the embroidery base from being damaged by the heat at the focal point of the laser beam. The separating layer must later be removed by washing out.

From the EP1983083 a method and a device are also known in which heating tips arranged on the embroidery machine enable the cutting out of an application consisting of synthetic fibers. In contrast to the known laser cutting device, this device can advantageously cut simultaneously over the entire length of the embroidery machine at different points. On the one hand, it enables this To cut the device with a plurality of cutting points at the same time without the need for extraction for the vapors produced. The only disadvantage of the device is that only applications made of a meltable or low-meltable plastic material can be cut with a heatable tip. Natural fibers such as cotton, wool or leather cannot be cut with this device.

From the JP-H08-243776 a single-head embroidery machine is known which comprises a laser processing machine in order to cut out an application from a fabric or a fabric layer. If the application is to be cut out of a fabric layer, this fabric layer lies on another fabric layer that should not be cut. The fabric or the fabric layers lie directly on a laser receiving plate. The laser receiving plate has a tap hole through the center of which the correctly focused laser runs. This arrangement is suitable for fabrics or fabric layers stretched in an embroidery frame, which lie directly on the laser receiving plate and are pressed onto the laser receiving plate by the holding-down part with the spring force of the spiral spring. If, however, the material or the layer of material to be cut shows too large a variation in its thickness, either an incomplete cut or excessive combustion of the material or the layer of material takes place. This solution is therefore suitable only for fabrics or layers of fabric with a thickness that is within a very narrow tolerance range.

Another disadvantage of the tap hole according to the exemplary embodiments shown in JP-H08-243776 is the emission of laser light into the production space when the laser light penetrates the fabric web. Thus, the use of the solution according to JP-H08-243776 elaborate protective devices to protect employees from harmful laser light emissions, especially when using a coarse-mesh fabric. The solution according to JP-H08-243776 also requires complex suction devices for the extraction of harmful gases that arise from the cutting process, for which purpose a separate suction nozzle and a line running through the frame to the suction fan must be provided.

An object of the present invention is to provide a method and a device with which both meltable applications and non-meltable applications can be cut, the thickness of the flat piece of material being variable.

Another object of the invention is that the cutting is made possible not only at a single point, but also at a plurality of points arranged along the embroidery machine.

Another task is to create a device with which the application can be positioned at the optimum position Cutting element not only positioned in the XY direction, but also in the Z direction and can be guided to the effective area of the cutting element in the optimal position during cutting.

A further object of the invention is to dissipate the energy required for the cutting and fed into the cutting area and the resulting heating of machine parts as well as impurities and gases occurring during cutting on site.

This object is achieved by a method according to the features of claim 1 and by an embroidery machine or sewing machine according to claim 7. A method for applying flat material pieces of the desired shape to an embroidery base by means of an embroidery machine or sewing machine comprises the following steps: at least one material layer arranged above the embroidery floor. Controlled by a program of the embroidery machine or sewing machine, a relative movement is generated between a cutting device arranged on the embroidery or sewing machine, containing a cutting element and the material layer, in order to cut out a piece of material from the material layer with the cutting element, the cutting element together with a housing into which the cutting member is inserted, in the direction of the material layer and / or the material layer and the Stick floor is pushed to the housing until the front of the housing touches the material layer. The material layer lies smoothly on the front of the housing, which forms a reference plane E, the cutting element penetrating into the material layer through an opening formed in the front of the housing, and the material layer being cut by the cutting element. During the cutting process, the material layer is sucked into the opening by a negative pressure present in the interior of the housing.

According to one embodiment, the material layer can be positioned on a bead that completely or partially surrounds the opening. In the area of the opening, air can be built up in the interior of the housing to extract a lower pressure than the surroundings, by means of which the material layer adjacent to the opening is sucked into the opening of the housing by the air flowing into the housing.

According to one embodiment, a laser beam can be passed through the housing as a cutting element for cutting the material layer, the focal point of which is focused in the region of the opening which forms a reference plane E and cuts the material layer. The cutting process can include at least one of the cutting methods melting, burning, evaporating.

The cutting device can comprise a heatable tip which is arranged in the housing, the heatable tip penetrating a reference plane E above the opening by the amount of the thickness of the material layer and cutting the material layer. In particular, the material layer can contain a synthetic fiber. According to the invention, the material layer is lifted off the embroidery base when it is sucked into the opening of the cutting device, so that the cutting member does not touch and damage the embroidery base when the material layer is being cut.

An embroidery or sewing machine contains a cutting device for an embroidery base with a material layer, the material layer lying on the embroidery base, the embroidery machine or sewing machine comprising a control program for controlling the cutting device, so that flat material pieces can be cut by the material layer through the cutting device. The cutting device comprises a cutting member. The cutting device can be moved between a rest position and a working position on the material layer via the embroidery base and / or the material layer can be brought up to the cutting device. The cutting member is arranged in a housing of the cutting device. The housing has an opening, the opening in the working position with the Material layer can be brought into contact such that the cutting member can penetrate into the material layer in the region of the opening. A negative pressure can be generated in the interior of the housing and is suitable for sucking the material layer onto the opening. The cutting device is designed in such a way that the material layer is lifted off the embroidery base when it is sucked into the opening, and the cutting element is arranged in such a way that it does not touch and damage the embroidery base when the material layer is cut. In particular, the opening can be completely or partially enclosed by a bead.

According to one exemplary embodiment, a suction line opens into the housing, air being able to be sucked in through the opening, so that the material layer which is in the working position in front of the opening lies against the opening.

According to one embodiment, a heating tip can be arranged as a cutting element in the housing, by means of which the material layer at the opening can be severed. According to an alternative exemplary embodiment, a laser module for generating a laser beam can be arranged in the housing as the cutting element, in the focal point of which the material layer at the opening can be cut.

According to one exemplary embodiment, a blown air line opens into the housing in order to form an air flow with which dirt particles and / or gaseous impurities can be removed from the area of the cutting member and removed by means of the suction line. In particular, the Suction line open into an annular zone in the housing, which is delimited on the inside by a jacket in which the laser beam is guided or the heating tip is arranged. According to this exemplary embodiment, dirt particles and / or gaseous impurities can be suctioned off from the cutting area in a particularly advantageous manner, so that they cannot get into the machine room. As a result, the emissions are removed at the point of origin, so that further protective measures for employees can be dispensed with, since the emissions are sucked off before they are released into the production area.

In particular, the flow-side front end of the jacket can end at a distance from the opening of the housing, such that the scavenging air introduced into the central area surrounded by the jacket contains the air that passes through the material layer and is sucked in through the opening through the annular zone in front of the The opening is redirected with the extracted air and gets into the suction line with the dirt particles and / or gaseous impurities. The jacket can in particular have an inner surface which is designed as a cone, the cross section of the cone tapering in the direction of the opening, so that a conical channel is formed. The purge air is pressurized through an opening in the jacket introduced the interior delimited by the inner surface of the cone and serves to remove contaminants, which can impair the mode of operation of the laser passing through the interior, from this interior. The volume flow of the purge air can in particular be approximately 15 l / min. So that the scavenging air can be diverted and sucked off via the mouth opening of the jacket, a vacuum of higher magnitude is applied to the outside of the jacket. A chamber or a space can be arranged between the outside of the casing and the housing. So that the purging air entering the room from the mouth opening can be sucked out of this room without it passing through the opening, the vacuum in this room must be higher than the pressure of the purging air. This means that the volume flow of the extracted air is at least five times, preferably six times the volume flow of purge air introduced into the jacket. For example, a volume flow of approximately 100 l / min of air can be extracted from the room.

In particular, the opening can be arranged in a guide or support plate extending laterally to the opening, the lateral edges of which are formed at an acute angle to the surface of the guide or support plate.

In particular, a diode laser can be used as the laser. The diode laser can have a wavelength in the range from 435 nm to 455 nm. In particular, the wavelength can be 455 nm. The smallest and strongest lasers are currently available in this wavelength. This diode laser is particularly advantageous because it is a powerful laser, especially for an output of 8W. This power of 8W is the diode output power before deflection and any optical elements used to bundle the laser beam. From the diode or the plurality of diodes, the collimated, i.e. parallel laser light bundled at a defined reference point using a converging lens.

Depending on the type of optical elements used, the output power can drop compared to the nominal power of 8W.

According to one embodiment, a plurality of diode lasers can be optically connected, in particular four diode lasers can be optically connected.

It is possible to cut out the advantages of a laser cutting device, namely both fusible applications and non-fusible applications, and also the advantages of the in EP1983083 described procedures and To enable device for simultaneous cutting at a plurality of embroidery sites.

As a result of the arrangement of the cutting device within a space with the cutting element which is open in the direction of the embroidery base and the material layer applied thereon, in which a negative pressure can be generated in relation to the environment and which can be brought up to the application or the application to the cutting device. the usually only approx. 1/10 thick application layer can be applied to the opening of the room, which acts as a reference surface and, as soon as a negative pressure is built up in this room, also sucked onto it and thus smoothed on the one hand and on the other hand relative to the cutting device to be positioned exactly. At the same time, vapors and / or cutting particles are extracted on site by a vacuum in the room when using a laser as a cutting element. In addition, the heat of the cutting element generated during cutting is dissipated directly from the area of the fabric, ie the embroidery base and the application. Transfer of heat to other machine elements of the embroidery machine is reduced. In this way, cutting is more suitable in continuous operation. Furthermore, the exact positioning of the material layer, ie the application in relation to the focal point of a laser beam or a heating tip, enables tenths of a millimeter to be achieved, which means that on the one hand it is possible to work with very little power and on the other hand, a minimal amount of harmful gases is generated. Another very important advantage is that by sucking the application onto the opening of the room, the application is easily lifted off the surface of the embroidery base and therefore the energy required for cutting, which has to be introduced into the application, is not also directly on the Embroidery base is produced and may discolor it, but it cannot damage it. This is particularly the case when cutting applications with a laser that do not melt, but that have to be scorched, burned or evaporated for cutting. By lifting the application from the embroidery base, there is no need to insert a separating layer that is later difficult to wash out.

Diode lasers are very small and can therefore be positioned at short lateral distances along the embroidery machine and can thus cut out a large number of figures distributed over the entire length of the embroidery machine.

With an extended contact surface in the plane of the focal point of the laser beam, applications can be cut out effortlessly, even with embroidered workpieces, if there is embroidery on the soutache or other embroidery that surpasses the surface are. The enlarged support plate prevents embroidery elements from being hooked or pushed aside.

On the one hand, costs are reduced by reducing work steps compared to the known laser cutting and, on the other hand, a load on the embroidered fabric and the embroidery by washing-out agents is avoided, since the washing-out agents can be dispensed with. Furthermore, warping of the embroidery base and the application, as occurs at a single point during laser cutting, can be avoided. On the other hand, the costs for the separating layer and the prior introduction of the separating layer between the embroidery base and the application are also eliminated. The method and devices according to the invention combine the advantages of cutting with a laser with the advantages of cutting with a heating tip. Both fusible and non-fusible applications can now be cut. A large number of cutting devices can be arranged and operated side by side on the embroidery machine.

Compared to conventional laser cutting devices, the effort to avoid injury to the eyes of the operating personnel is guaranteed by encapsulating the laser beam in a room, the opening of which lies directly on the application. In addition, the extraction of Gases and contaminants, which are inevitable when cutting plastic or natural materials, are possible with much lower throughputs, since the extraction takes place directly at the point where the contaminants originate. The contaminants cannot escape into the environment of the machine beforehand.

The dimensions of the individual cutting devices are so compact that cutting devices can be arranged side by side on the embroidery machine at intervals of slightly more than 100 millimeters. These distances are usually in the area of the small or narrow repetitions of the embroidery. This makes it possible to cut out many small or large figures that have been stitched close together.

The invention is explained in more detail using two exemplary embodiments.

Reference numeral 1 designates an embroidery machine, in particular a large embroidery machine with a plurality of up to 1100 needles 3 held on needle carriers 4, which needles are positioned in front of stitch holes 5 in a needle plate 7. Essentially cubic formwork 21 is arranged above the needles 3, which schematically represent the cutting devices 9. A compressed air line 11 for purging air and the drive, energy lines 13 for a cutting element 15, in the example shown a diode laser 27, and a suction line 17, which is also connected to the cutting device 9, lead to the cutting devices 9. The cutting device 9 is designed to be connectable to the embroidery machine 1 or to carriers (carriers not shown) running along the embroidery machine 1.

The suction lines 17 to the cutting devices 9 are connected to a central suction 19 running along the embroidery machine 1. With a drive not shown in detail, for example a pneumatic drive, a Housing 39 in the cutting device 9, or at least parts thereof, can be guided in the direction of the needle plate 7 and away from it. The supply of compressed air through the compressed air line 11 and with suction air for the central suction line 19, the energy lines and control lines (not shown further) are preferably carried out centrally on the embroidery machine 1.

As from in particular Figures 1 and 2 As can be seen, the cutting devices 9 can be arranged side by side over four or five needles 3 or drills or drill holders 6. In other words, a multitude of smallest work areas, which are close to each other, can consequently be processed or cut out with each cutting device 9, without the need to readjust the cutting device 1, as in the prior art.

The following is based on the Figures 3 to 5 the structure of a cutting device 1 explained in more detail in the first embodiment.

Each cutting device 9 comprises a box-shaped casing 21, for example made of metal, which is designed to be connectable to the embroidery machine 1 (connection to the embroidery machine 1 not shown). In the casing 21, on two guide columns 23, which represent a connection to the embroidery machine, there is a housing 39 and therein a laser module 25 For example, four diode lasers 27 are guided so as to be longitudinally displaceable in the Z direction by motor or pneumatically. The drive elements for the shift are not shown. The laser is preferably, but not exclusively, diode lasers 27 with a wavelength of 435 nm to 455 nm, which are optically connected. On the left side of the diode laser 27 is in Figure 3 a suitable optical lens 29 is used as a focusing lens. The lens 29 focuses the laser beams 51 of the diode laser 27 at a focal point 49. A conical channel 31, for example, connects to the optical lens 29, into which the compressed air line 11 opens and introduces purge air into the conical channel 31 in order to contaminate the lens 29, among other things to prevent. The focal point 49 can be set precisely in the Z direction by means of this lens 29. The front part of the jacket 33 of the conical channel 31 lies within a space 35 of the housing 39. One or more suction lines 17 open into this space 35. The left-hand end of the space 35 is formed as an opening through an opening 41 in the housing 39. The front end of the conical channel 31 arranged in the space 35 is preferably axially spaced from the opening 41, ie to a reference plane E, which lies above the opening 41.

The described spaced position of the channel 31 creates an annular zone 43 between the end of the conical channel 31 and the opening 41.

Via this ring-shaped zone 43, the air blown into the conical channel 31 through the compressed air line 11 can flow out into the space 35, which is under a somewhat negative pressure, through the suction line 17. At the mouth or opening 41 of the housing 39, air is thus sucked in by the negative pressure in the room 35.

In an advantageous embodiment, compared to the air blown into the conical channel 31, a multiple, e.g. six times the air sucked out of the room 35 as supplied. The air flow generated by the negative pressure in the space 35 into the housing 39 pulls at the opening 41 when the housing 39 moves up to an embroidery base 45 spanned on the gate of the embroidery machine 1 with a material layer 47 applied thereon by an embroidery, the latter to the opening 41 on the housing 39 on. As a result, the material layer 47 lifts somewhat from the embroidery base 45 in the region of the opening 41. This lifting off results in an air-filled space 48 between the material layer 47 and the underlying embroidery base 45. This space 48 has the effect that the focal point 49 of a laser beam 51, which comes to lie in the material layer 47, is able to separate the material layer 47 and the underlying floor 45 is not damaged.

The material layer 47 to be cut is formed by the xy movements of the embroidery machine 1 Embroidery base 45 and the material layer 47 lying thereon past the opening 41. The material layer 47 is always lifted from the embroidery base 45 only in the area of the focal point 49 of the laser beam 51 at the opening 41. The outer edge 42 of the opening 41 or a bead (not shown) surrounding the opening 41 forms the reference plane E (see Figure 5 ), in which the focal point 49 of the laser beam 51 lies. Consequently, the material layer 47 lies in the region of the focal point 49, which can be adjusted exactly with the lens 29 to the material layer 47, which is held slightly flat at the opening 41.

The suction of air from the atmosphere through the embroidery base 45 and through the material layer 47 additionally cools the embroidery base 45 and all gases and particles caused by the burning or scorching process of the laser beam 51 are extracted there. Contamination of the embroidery and the surrounding air or parts of the embroidery machine 1 can thereby be optimally prevented.

Furthermore, the laser beam 51 or its rays, which are harmful to the human eye, are optimally shielded from the environment, since the housing 39 with its opening 41 comes to lie very close to the needle plate 7 and therefore virtually no harmful rays through the embroidery base 45 can exit to the outside.

It can be seen that the cutting of the material layer 47 can be cut both without suction at the opening 41 and with suction. The suction increases the security that the material layer 47 lies flat on the opening 41 and thus in the reference plane in which focal point 49 is located.

As an alternative to the diodes generating the laser beam 51 as the cutting element 15, a heating tip can be used in the conical channel 31, the tip end of which projects beyond the opening 41 at most by the thickness of the material layer 47 to be cut. The heating tip thereby separates the material layer 47 without touching and thus damaging the underlying embroidery base 45, which is arranged at a distance from the material layer 47 (cutting tip not shown).

In the second embodiment of the invention according to the Figures 6 and 7 the front end of the housing 39 does not run in the shape of a truncated cone towards the opening 41, but the opening 41 comes to lie in a flat guide or support plate 53. The contact area of the cutting device 9 on the material layer 47, which is substantially enlarged by the guide or support plate 53, has the effect, as already mentioned, that very uneven surfaces are also applied to the embroidery base 45.

The edge regions or edges 55 of the guide or support plate 53 are preferably arranged at an acute angle to the surface of the guide or support plate 53.

A miniaturized design of the cutting device 9 could also be carried out directly on a drill carrier 6 or the needle carrier 4 (both in FIG Figure 3 attached schematically) and lead it to the material layer 45 in front of and from it back to a rest position.
