Claims (15)
- A method for handling flat material and/or film material (26), which is wound onto rolls (14, 15) and serves as packaging material for the packaging of piece goods, bundles, or the like sets of articles, in which method, for the purpose of maintaining a packaging operation, an at least partially unwound and/or depleted roll (15) is removed from at least one mounting position or installation position (EB1; EB2) of a packaging machine (10), and is in each instance replaced with a new roll (14) of flat material and/or film material (26) by the externally arranged layer (36) of a new roll (14) being extracted near or in the area of the layer's free end (50) after each positioning of a new roll (14), and, for the purpose of forming an uninterrupted material web (26), by being attached to a section of a material web (26) that is being guided into a packaging line, while the material web (26) that is extracted from the at least partially unwound and/or used up roll (15) is previously, simultaneously, or subsequently separated from the material web (26) that is being guided into the packaging line, and wherein, prior to the in each instance at least partially unwound and/or used up roll (15) being removed from the packaging machine (10), a material web remainder (27) leading to a separating location is at least partially wound onto the at least partially unwound and/or used up roll (15) by return rotation of the roll (15) opposite to a direction of unwinding rotation.
- The method according to claim 1, in which the material web remainder (27) left on the at least partially unwound and/or used up roll (15) is seized by means of a controllable gripping device and/or handling device (52) and is moved toward the at least partially unwound and/or used up roll (15).
- The method according to claim 1 or 2, in which the material web remainder (27) left on the at least partially unwound and/or used up roll (15) is wound onto the at least partially unwound and/or used up roll (15) together with a material web section (36) of the new roll (14), from which said material web section (36) has been separated.
- The method according to claim 3, in which the material web section (36) of the new roll (14), from which said material web section (36) has been separated, at least partially suspends from the controllable gripping device and/or handling device (52) and/or has been wound thereon, wherein said material web section (36) is disengaged or unwound, as applicable, from the gripping device and/or handling device (52) during the winding of the material web remainders (27) and material web sections (36) onto the at least partially unwound and/or used up roll (15).
- The method according to one of the claims 2 to 4, in which the controllable gripping device and/or handling device (52) interacts with a detection device (40) for the detection of a position of the material web remainder (27) and/or of a rotary position of the roll (15) and/or in which the controllable gripping device and/or handling device (52) is controlled based on the sensor signals of said detection device (40).
- The method according to one of the claims 2 to 5, in which the material web remainder (27) left on the at least partially unwound and/or used up roll (15) and/or the material web section (36) connected to the material web remainder (27) and coming from the new roll (14) is/are seized by means of the gripping device and/or handling device (52), which is operated with pneumatic suction pressure, in a mechanically clamping manner, and/or in a electrostatically adherent manner, and is/are moved or guided, as applicable, to the roll (15).
- The method according to one of the claims 2 to 6, in which the material web remainder (27) left on the at least partially unwound and/or used up roll (15) and/or the material web section (36) connected to the material web remainder (27) and coming from the new roll (14) is/are seized by means of the gripping device and/or handling device (52), which is moved and controlled in its holding activities in an automated manner, and is/are moved or guided, as applicable, to the roll (15).
- The method according to one of the claims 2 to 7, in which the detection device (40) detects markings (38, 54) affixed or applied onto the at least partially unwound and/or used up roll (15) and identifies and/or processes the position, alignment, and/or angular position thereof in relation to a total circumference of the roll (15).
- An apparatus (12) for handling flat material and/or film material (26), which is wound onto rolls (14, 15) and serves as packaging material for the packaging of piece goods, bundles, or the like sets of articles, inside a packaging machine (10), which has at least one installation position (EB1, EB2) for the rotatable reception of rolls (14, 15) of flat material and/or film material (26), as well as having fixing devices and/or sealing devices (32) for aligning and/or attaching free end sections (50) of flat material and/or film material (26) from the new rolls (14) mounted in each instance in the at least one installation position (EB1 or EB2) to a material web (26) already being guided in the packaging machine (10), wherein the apparatus (12) has a separating device for separating a material web (26) that is extracted from the at least partially unwound and/or used up roll (15) from the material web (26) that is being guided into the packaging line, characterised in that devices are provided for the return rotation of the in each instance partially unwound and/or used up roll (15), the return rotation being opposite to a direction of unwinding rotation, and for the winding of at least a part of a material web remainder (27) onto the at least partially unwound and/or used up roll (15), with the material web remainder (27) leading to a separating location.
- The apparatus according to claim 9, which- has at least one controllable gripping device and/or handling device (52) for the handling and moving of the material web remainder (27) of the at least partly unwound and/or used up roll (15) and for the feed movement thereof to the roll (15), or which- has at least one controllable gripping device and/or handling device (52) for the handling and moving of the material web remainder (27) of the at least partly unwound and/or used up roll (15) and/or of a material web section (36), which is connected to the material web remainder (27) and comes from the new roll (14), and for the feed movement thereof to the roll (15).
- The apparatus according to claim 10, in which the controllable gripping device and/or handling device (52) forms a part of an automatable roll exchange unit of the apparatus (12).
- The apparatus according to claim 10 or 11, in which the gripping device and/or handling device (52) is formed by at least one suction tube (56), or has such a suction tube (56), for seizing by means of pneumatic suction pressure the material web remainder (27) left on the at least partially unwound and/or used up roll (15) and/or a material web section (36) connected to the material web remainder (27) and coming from the new roll (14).
- The apparatus according to claim 10 or 11, in which the gripping device and/or handling device (52) is formed by at least one clamping strip for seizing in a mechanically clamping manner the material web remainder (27) left on the at least partially unwound and/or used up roll (15) and/or a material web section (36) connected to the material web remainder (27) and coming from the new roll (14).
- The apparatus according to claim 10 or 11, in which the gripping device and/or handling device (52) is formed by at least one electrostatically operating element for seizing by means of electrostatically supported adhesion the material web remainder (27) left on the at least partially unwound and/or used up roll (15) and/or a material web section (36) connected to the material web remainder (27) and coming from the new roll (14).
- The apparatus according to claim 10 or 11, in which the gripping device and/or handling device (52) is structurally integrated into the apparatus (12) or is designed as part of a handling robot (20) disposed outside of the packaging machine (10).
