Description
- The present invention relates to a cooling device comprising flap-type covers that provide the user with versatile opportunities of use. In cooling devices, compartments are used for separating different types of items to be cooled inside the body from each other or to form partitions with different temperatures, and flap-type covers that cover the compartments are used to separate the compartments from other parts of the body. In the state of the art, the flap-type covers function by deflecting and snap-fitting method, and when the cover is opened, the pins on the hinge are seated in a housing and enable the cover to be balanced in the open position. In this type of covers, the pins used in securing the cover may break in the case the user accidentally closes the door while cover is open. Moreover, the user cannot change the opening direction of the cover when desired by dismounting and the service personnel have to be called for this operation.
- In the Patent Applications No.
WO2011080109 andWO2005012812 , a cooling device comprising flap-type doors is disclosed. - Japanese Patent Document
JP S44 691 Y1 - The aim of the present invention is the realization of a cooling device with the features of
claim 1, comprising a flap-type cover which can be easily assembled. - The cooling device realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises a body, a door providing access into the body, at least one compartment inside the body, and covers that are used to separate the compartments. The cooling device of the present invention furthermore comprises a casing at each side of the cover, a plate having a first pin seated into the casing and enabling the cover to be secured, a second pin enabling the cover to remain in balance in the open and closed positions of the cover and a rod enabling the plate to be attached to the casing, a spring disposed on the rod for attaching the plate tightly to the casing, and a cover holder wherein the first pin and the second pin are supported on the body. In the cooling device of the present invention, the cover is easily mounted/dismounted by means of the rod, the spring, the plate and the pins that are used for attaching the cover to the body.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the cover holder comprises a hole for fixing and attaching the first pin and a guide channel wherein the second pin moves during its rotational movement. The first pin forms the rotational axis of the cover by being seated in the hole and the second pin moves inside the guide channel during the opening/closing of the cover.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the cover holder comprises two locking recesses disposed on the guide channel wherein the second pin is seated and enables the cover to be kept in the fixed position. When the second pin is seated into the locking recess, the cover remains in the open position if it is open and in the closed position if it is closed.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the plate and the rod are attached to one another by snap-fitting. Thus, the assembly of the cover is facilitated.
- When the user desires to change the opening direction of the cover, he/she can easily compress the spring, dislodging the first pin and the second pin from the cover holder and the plate from the casing and can easily remount the rod and the spring into the casing at the other direction.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the spring is manufactured from metal, silicon gasket or rubber material which provides the required flexibility.
- By means of the present invention, the cover is enabled to function without problems during opening/closing and the assembly operator is enabled to group the cover more easily.
- The cooling device realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the attached figures, where:

- The cooling device (1) comprises a body (2), a door (3) providing access into the body (2), at least one compartment (4) wherein the items to be cooled are placed and at least one cover (5) that enables the compartments (4) to be covered and that is opened by rotating around a horizontal rotational axis.
- In the cooling device (1), the compartments (4) are used for cooling different kinds of items. Flap-type covers (5) are used for separating the compartments (4) from one another.
- The cooling device (1) of the present invention comprises:
- two casings (6) disposed on each side of the cover (5),
- two openings (16) disposed on each casings' (6) side wall on each side of the cover (5)
- a plate (7) that is seated into the casing (6),
- a first pin (8) fixed on the surface of the plate (7) which opposes the opening (16) and forming the rotational axis of the cover (5), a second pin (9) enabling the cover (5) to remain balanced in the open and closed positions
- a rod (10) fixed on the other surface of the plate (7) which opposes the cover (5),
- a spring (11) disposed on the rod (10) and enabling the plate (7) to be pushed towards the openings (16) in the casing (6),
- a cover holder (12) disposed on the body (2), wherein the first pin (8) and the second pin (9) which pass through the openings (16) are seated.
- The spring (11) is mounted to the rod (10), enabling the plate (7) to be placed into the casing (6). The assembly of the cover (5) to the body (2) is completed as the first pin (8) and the second pin (9) are placed into the cover holder (12). The cover (5) rotates around the first pin (8) and the second pin (9) enables the cover (5) to remain balanced in the open and closed positions by being seated into the cover holder (12). When the cover (5) is opened entirely, the second pin (9) exerts force into the cover holder (12) and enables the spring (11) to be compressed and balances the cover (5) in the open position. If the door (3) is closed when the cover (5) is open, the spring (11) enables the cover (5) to be closed by converting the stored potential energy into kinetic energy as the door (3) touches the cover (5). The spring (11) pushes the plate (7) so that one end rests on the casing (6) and enables the first pin (8) to bear against the cover holder (12), and thus the cover (5) is attached to the cover holder (12) tightly. Besides attaching the cover (5) tightly, the spring (11) also enables the cover (5) to be easily dismounted by the user.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the cooling device (1) comprises a hole (13) arranged on the cover holder (12), wherein the first pin (8) is tightly seated, which provides the first pin (8) constructs a rotation axis for the cover (5) and a guide channel (14) wherein the second pin (9) moves inside while the cover (5) is opening/closing. The first pin (8) enables the rotation axis of the cover (5) by being snap-fittingly seated into the hole (13). The second pin (9) can move easily in the guide channel (14) during the opening/closing movement of the cover (5).
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the cooling device (1) comprises two locking recesses (15) arranged in the guide channel (14), wherein the second pin (9) is seated in the closed and open positions of the cover (5). Thus, when the user opens the cover (5), the second pin (9) pushed by means of the spring (11) is seated into the locking recess (15) and enables the cover (5) to remain in the open position. The locking recess (15) that corresponds to the closed position functions as a lock.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the guide channel (14) is arc shaped.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the cooling device (1) comprises a detachable rod (10) that can be mounted snap-fittingly to the plate (7). By means of this embodiment, the assembly of the cover (5) is facilitated and the users are enabled to mount/dismount the cover (5) by themselves when desired.
- The user can dismount the cover (5) as per need and desire by compressing the spring (11) and releasing the first pin (8) and the second pin (9) from the cover holder (12) and the rod (10) from the casing (6). The user is enabled to change the opening direction of the cover (5) by placing the rod (10) and the spring (11) into the casing (6) on the other side of the cover (5).
- In an embodiment of the present invention, in the cooling device (1) the spring (11) is manufactured from metal or flexible silicon gasket or rubber material.
- In the cooling device (1) of the present invention, grouping of the cover (5) is facilitated and thus the user is enabled to easily change the opening direction of the cover (5).
Claims (7)
- A cooling device (1) comprising a body (2), a door (3) providing access into the body (2), at least one compartment (4) wherein items to be cooled are placed and at least one cover (5) that enables the compartments (4) to be covered and that is opened by rotating around a horizontal rotational axis, wherein- two casings (6) are disposed on each side of the cover (5),- two openings (16) are disposed on each casing's (6) side wall which is on a side of the cover (5),- a plate (7) is seated into the casing (6),- a first pin (8) and a second pin (9) are fixed on the surface of the plate (7) which opposes the openings (16), wherein the first pin (8) forms the rotational axis of the cover (5), and wherein the second pin (9) enables the cover (5) to remain balanced in the open and closed positions,- a rod (10) is fixed on the other surface of the plate (7) which opposes the cover (5),- a spring (11) is disposed on the rod (10) and enables the plate (7) to be pushed towards the openings (16) in the casing (6),- a cover holder (12) is disposed on the body (2), wherein the first pin (8) and the second pin (9), each of which passes through respectively each one of the two openings (16), are seated.
- A cooling device (1) as in Claim 1, characterized in that a hole (13) is arranged on the cover holder (12), wherein the first pin (8) is tightly seated to provide a rotation axis for the cover (5).
- A cooling device (1) as in Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that a guide channel (14) is arranged on the cover holder (12), wherein the second pin (9) moves inside while the cover (5) is opening/closing.
- A cooling device (1) as in any one of the above claims, characterized in that two locking recesses (15) are arranged in the guide channel (14), wherein the second pin (9) is seated in the closed and open positions of the cover (5).
- A cooling device (1) as in any one of the above claims, characterized by the arc shaped guide channel (14).
- A cooling device (1) as in any one of the above claims, characterized in that the rod (10) is mounted snap-fittingly to the plate (7).
- A cooling device (1) as in any one of the above claims, characterized in that the spring (11) is manufactured from metal or flexible silicon gasket or rubber material.
