Definitions
- the invention relates to a heel holder for a ski binding such as a ski.
- the heel holder includes a base, heel counter, pedal and ski brake.
- the pedal forms in a known manner a first lock for the ski brake.
- the heel retainer further includes a second lock for the ski brake that locks the ski brake when the heel retainer is not in a position suitable for skiing downhill.
- the patent FR 2 490 099 A1 shows a plate-touring binding without Skistopper and the EP 0 054 928 A1 shows a ski stopper for touring bindings with plates. It is therefore an object of the invention to provide a heel holder with a ski brake, which reliably triggers, that is, their braking effect unfolds when it comes to a triggering of the heel holder, for example by a fall, but at the same time in held in a locked position when the ski is not in use or used as a touring ski.
- the invention relates to a heel holder for a ski, in particular for a ski, which releases a base, an automatic heel unit, a ski brake, a pedal which can be moved from a first position to a second position, and in the first position, the ski brake for braking and in a second position the ski brake next to the ski holds in a position in which the ski brake can not brake the ski.
- the heel holder further includes a lock for the ski brake with which the ski brake can be locked when the pedal is in the second position.
- the ski brake in addition to the known first mechanical lock, which causes the athlete to enter the binding and push down the pedal from its first position above the ski surface toward the ski surface by means of its weight, the ski brake also points to a second position , a second mechanical lock on.
- the second latch may hold the ski brake in the locked position, that is, in a position in which it is adjacent to the ski and does not protrude down over the ski before the athlete gets on the ski, for example during transport or at the ski Storage.
- the second latch In a combined downhill and touring binding, the second latch also holds the ski brake in the locked mode in touring mode.
- Under tour mode is understood here as the setting of the ski connection, which is selected for touring, that is, the heel of the shoe is released from the heel holder and can move out of the heel holder while walking.
- the departure mode is according to the setting of the binding, in which the shoe is held firmly in the heel holder.
- the ski brake is connected to the pedal via a mechanism that biases the ski brake in the braking position. This means that when the pedal is free of load, the brake will always be in the brake position when the pedal is the only brake lock. Due to the weight of the athlete, the pedal is pressed to the ski surface when entering the binding and thereby pivoted about a pivot connection, the brake up next to the ski and held there while the pedal is loaded. In a sudden relief of the pedal, for example, when triggering the binding in a fall, the brake is released and brakes the ski.
- the second lock for the ski brake may include a locking member connected to the pedal and a counter locking member movably supported in the base.
- the locking element is preferably connected to the pedal on the underside and is, when the pedal is in the release position for the ski brake, down in the direction of ski surface of the pedal base from.
- the counter-locking element can be biased by means of a spring element in the direction of the pedal, that is, in the direction of the locking element on the pedal, so that preferably one end of the counter-locking element is in a tensioned spring element in a locking engagement with the locking element.
- This locking engagement may be, for example, that the end of the counter-locking element overlaps one end of the locking element, wherein in the overlapping region, the counter-locking element is above the locking element or a part of the locking element, so that the unloaded pedal can not be moved from its second position to the first position.
- the counter-locking element engage in the locking element to produce the locking engagement or press the locking element against a spring force in a locking position, in which case the spring force to unlock the locking element is smaller than the spring force for tensioning the counter-locking element.
- the counter-locking element may extend in the base in a longitudinal direction of the base, respectively of the ski, from the locking element to below the heel holder, and in a region below the heel holder has a protruding vertically upwards in the direction of the heel holder projection.
- the projection preferably has an engagement surface on its free end facing away from the counter-locking element, which can cooperate with a pin connected to the heel machine with a counter-engagement surface.
- the engagement surface and the counterattack surface may in particular be inclined surfaces which are designed such that a movement of the heel mechanism substantially perpendicular to the ski surface causes the counter locking element to move in a direction opposite to the skiing direction.
- the pin can enter into the heel holder and the consequent pivoting of the heel unit in the position in which a sole holder of the heel machine rests on the surface of the sole of the shoe of the athlete, in operative engagement with the projection, whereby the counter locking member against the force of Spring element can be moved against the direction of travel of the ski from the locking element away.
- the heel box may comprise a tensioning device with the sole holder and a connection structure, wherein the connection structure connects the tensioning device to the base.
- the tensioning device can be pivotably connected to the connecting structure about a first axis
- the connecting structure can be pivotably connected to the base about a second axis.
- the pin is preferably formed on the connection structure.
- the heel holder is preferably the heel age of a touring binding or a combined downhill and touring binding, wherein the ski brake is secured in the touring mode of the second lock.
- the heel holder may include a first and an additional second climbing aid, the first climbing aid supporting the athlete's shoe at a first climbing angle and the second climbing aid supporting the shoe at a second climbing angle, the second climbing angle being greater than the first climbing angle.
- the ski brake is, in particular, a separate part which is not connected to the heel holder but, for example, can be pushed onto a rail which is connected to the surface of the ski independently of the heel holder.
- Another aspect concerns a ski with a combined downhill and touring binding with a toe holder, a heel holder and a ski brake.
- the heel holder is preferably the above-described heel holder with which the ski brake can be held in a non-braking position in a touring mode.
- the FIG. 1 shows a heel holder 1 with a base 2, a heel unit 3, a pedal 4 and a ski brake 5.
- the heel unit 3 has a tensioning element 6 with a sole holder 7 and a connecting structure 10.
- the connecting structure 10 is connected in a first pivot joint 11 with the base 2 and in a second pivot joint 12 with the clamping element 6.
- the clamping element 6 can be pivoted in the pivot joint 12 relative to the base 2 and relative to the connecting structure 10, the connecting structure 10 can in the pivot joint 11 are pivoted at least relative to the base 1.
- the base 2 has in the illustrated embodiment, a carriage 24 which is movable transversely to the ski longitudinal axis and allows additional transverse movements of the heel unit 3 in extreme driving situations and a transverse release of the heel holder 1, for example in a fall.
- a locking element 13 is connected, which in the exemplary embodiment has a rectangular profile which protrudes downward from the bottom 4a of the pedal 4 and forms a parallel to the bottom 4a extending support surface 13a.
- a counter-locking element 14 is guided, which is pressed at its one end 14a by a spring element 15 with a spring force in the direction of travel of the ski 16.
- a support surface 14 c is formed, which rests on the support surface 13 a of the locking element 13, and thereby prevents the pedal 2 from a shown second position in which it rests on the surface of the ski 16 and the ski brake 5 in the shown position next to the ski, in which the ski brake 5 has no braking function, holds and locks.
- the counter-locking member 14 has a vertically upwardly projecting arm or projection 18 which has a bevel 18b at its upper end 18a.
- the counter-locking member 14 may also be at least partially guided in a sleeve connected to, for example, the base 3 or guided in other known ways to prevent bending or buckling of the counter-locking member 14.
- the projection 20 is in the downhill position of the ski 16 so far moved back against the direction of travel, that its front end in the direction of travel behind the formed on the underside of the carriage 2 guided in the carriage 24 edge 23 comes to rest.
- the edge 23 may have an interruption in the center, so that the counter-locking element 14 or the projection 20 can be moved freely in and against the direction of travel of the ski 16 when the carriage 24 is in a permissible, non-triggering position in the base 2. Leaves the carriage 24 this position transverse to the direction of travel, the projection gets into an area of the edge 23 next to or outside the interruption and is thereby prevented by the edge 23 to be pushed back by the spring 15 in the locking position, even if the pedal 4 is no longer pressed through the ski boot on the ski surface.
- a nose or a pin 17 is integrally formed, with an end 17a with a bevel 17b.
- the pin 17 is when pivoting the heel unit 3 in the position of the departure mode, that is, in the position in which the sole holder 7 presses on the sole of the shoe and the Heel holder 1 holds the shoe firmly in the binding, brought by an opening 21 in the base 3 in operative connection with the projection 18.
- the counter-locking element 14 is moved against the spring force of the spring element 15 against the direction of travel of the ski 16.
- the connection between the two bearing surfaces 13a, 14c and the pedal 4 is free to move upward.
- the locking element 13 and the counter-locking element 14 form a lock for the ski brake 5 when the pin 17 and the projection 18 do not interact with each other. That is, this lock can be active when the ski 16 is being transported or stored, or when the heel holder 1 or heel machine 3 is in a position where the binding is used as a touring binding. If, however, the binding is used as a downhill binding, the locking element 13 and the counter-locking element 14 are no longer in locking engagement, the locking of the ski brake 5 in the position in which it does not brake the ski 16 is now ensured by the pedal 4 loaded with the skier ,
- FIG. 2 shows the heel holder 1 in the position for the departure mode, in which both the connection structure 10, and the tensioning element 6 of the automatic heel 3 are pivoted to the base 2.
- the pin 17 is fully retracted into the opening 21 of the base 2 and has over the interaction of the bevels 17b, 18b, the counter-locking member 14 against the force of the spring element 15 moves against the direction of travel of the ski 16.
- the two bearing surfaces 13a, 14c are no longer in overlap, so that the ski brake 5 is no longer locked by the interaction of the locking element 13 and the counter-locking element 14 in the non-braking position.
- This locking is now ensured by the pedal 4 in a known manner, since now the athlete holds with his weight the pedal 4 in the position shown on the top of the ski 16, in which the ski brake 5 is held in the non-braking position.
- the two climbing aids 8, 9 are connected in a common joint 22 pivotally connected to the heel unit 3 and the tensioning element 6 and have at least one common spring element 19, the first climbing aid 8 and the second climbing aid 9 in at least the position shown against unwanted Secure pivoting.

Description
The invention relates to a heel holder for a ski binding such as a ski. The heel holder includes a base, heel counter, pedal and ski brake. The pedal forms in a known manner a first lock for the ski brake.
The heel retainer further includes a second lock for the ski brake that locks the ski brake when the heel retainer is not in a position suitable for skiing downhill.
Especially with combined downhill and touring bindings, conventional ski brakes with pedal control, which are only moved and held at the entry into the binding into a position in which the ski brake is arranged next to the ski and has no braking effect, are unsuitable. In touring mode, the pedal of the heel counter is no longer held down, whereby the brake is unlocked. This is an unacceptable condition for touring, which is why combined departure and touring bindings still today use laces for the ski. Belts are no longer accepted by athletes as a contemporary solution. In addition, the conventional pedal-loaded ski brakes have the disadvantage that they protrude before entering the athlete in the binding and after exiting the binding down from the ski, whereby the transport volume of the skis is greater than it would have to be with locked ski brake.
This object is achieved by the
The invention relates to a heel holder for a ski, in particular for a ski, which releases a base, an automatic heel unit, a ski brake, a pedal which can be moved from a first position to a second position, and in the first position, the ski brake for braking and in a second position the ski brake next to the ski holds in a position in which the ski brake can not brake the ski. The heel holder further includes a lock for the ski brake with which the ski brake can be locked when the pedal is in the second position.
In other words, in addition to the known first mechanical lock, which causes the athlete to enter the binding and push down the pedal from its first position above the ski surface toward the ski surface by means of its weight, the ski brake also points to a second position , a second mechanical lock on. The second latch may hold the ski brake in the locked position, that is, in a position in which it is adjacent to the ski and does not protrude down over the ski before the athlete gets on the ski, for example during transport or at the ski Storage. In a combined downhill and touring binding, the second latch also holds the ski brake in the locked mode in touring mode.
Under tour mode is understood here as the setting of the ski connection, which is selected for touring, that is, the heel of the shoe is released from the heel holder and can move out of the heel holder while walking. The departure mode is according to the setting of the binding, in which the shoe is held firmly in the heel holder.
The ski brake is connected to the pedal via a mechanism that biases the ski brake in the braking position.
The second lock for the ski brake may include a locking member connected to the pedal and a counter locking member movably supported in the base. In this case, the locking element is preferably connected to the pedal on the underside and is, when the pedal is in the release position for the ski brake, down in the direction of ski surface of the pedal base from.
The counter-locking element can be biased by means of a spring element in the direction of the pedal, that is, in the direction of the locking element on the pedal, so that preferably one end of the counter-locking element is in a tensioned spring element in a locking engagement with the locking element. This locking engagement may be, for example, that the end of the counter-locking element overlaps one end of the locking element, wherein in the overlapping region, the counter-locking element is above the locking element or a part of the locking element, so that the unloaded pedal can not be moved from its second position to the first position. Alternatively, the counter-locking element engage in the locking element to produce the locking engagement or press the locking element against a spring force in a locking position, in which case the spring force to unlock the locking element is smaller than the spring force for tensioning the counter-locking element.
The counter-locking element may extend in the base in a longitudinal direction of the base, respectively of the ski, from the locking element to below the heel holder, and in a region below the heel holder has a protruding vertically upwards in the direction of the heel holder projection. The projection preferably has an engagement surface on its free end facing away from the counter-locking element, which can cooperate with a pin connected to the heel machine with a counter-engagement surface. The engagement surface and the counterattack surface may in particular be inclined surfaces which are designed such that a movement of the heel mechanism substantially perpendicular to the ski surface causes the counter locking element to move in a direction opposite to the skiing direction.
The pin can enter into the heel holder and the consequent pivoting of the heel unit in the position in which a sole holder of the heel machine rests on the surface of the sole of the shoe of the athlete, in operative engagement with the projection, whereby the counter locking member against the force of Spring element can be moved against the direction of travel of the ski from the locking element away.
The heel box may comprise a tensioning device with the sole holder and a connection structure, wherein the connection structure connects the tensioning device to the base. The tensioning device can be pivotably connected to the connecting structure about a first axis, and the connecting structure can be pivotably connected to the base about a second axis. In a heel piece machine with a connection structure, the pin is preferably formed on the connection structure.
If there is a fall in the downhill mode and thus a triggering, in particular a transverse release of the binding, this means that the shoe moves out of the binding, relieves the pedal, and thus releases the ski brake. The displaced transversely to the ski longitudinal axis carriage simultaneously blocks a movement of the counter-locking element in the locking position, so that the counter-locking element can not get into engagement with the locking element, whereby a release of the ski brake would be prevented. This means that with a transverse release of the ski binding or the heel holder, the ski can be braked without any restrictions by the ski brake.
The heel holder is preferably the heel age of a touring binding or a combined downhill and touring binding, wherein the ski brake is secured in the touring mode of the second lock. The heel holder may include a first and an additional second climbing aid, the first climbing aid supporting the athlete's shoe at a first climbing angle and the second climbing aid supporting the shoe at a second climbing angle, the second climbing angle being greater than the first climbing angle.
The ski brake is, in particular, a separate part which is not connected to the heel holder but, for example, can be pushed onto a rail which is connected to the surface of the ski independently of the heel holder.
Another aspect concerns a ski with a combined downhill and touring binding with a toe holder, a heel holder and a ski brake. The heel holder is preferably the above-described heel holder with which the ski brake can be held in a non-braking position in a touring mode.

In the following an embodiment of the invention will be explained in more detail with reference to figures. Essential features of the invention, which can only be taken from the figures, can advantageously further develop the invention individually or in the combinations shown, and belong to the scope of the invention. The invention is not limited to that shown in the figures.

- Heel holder with ski brake held in the second lock
- FIG. 2
- Heel holder in down mode with released second lock
In the following two figures, which show a very detailed construction of a

With the bottom 4a of the
In the
The
On the connecting
Since substantially simultaneously the
From what has just been described, it is clear that the locking
