Definitions

  • the invention relates to a value document and method for producing a value document.
  • Value documents within the meaning of the invention include banknotes, stocks, bonds, certificates, vouchers, checks, air tickets, high-quality entrance tickets, labels for product security, credit or debit cards, but also other forgery-prone documents, such as passports, ID cards or other identity documents.
  • Value documents in particular banknotes, are usually produced from paper substrates which have special security features, such as a security thread at least partially incorporated into the paper and a watermark.
  • security features such as a security thread at least partially incorporated into the paper and a watermark.
  • cotton fibers natural polymer
  • window films can be used. Window films are usually made substantially from a synthetic polymer. Typically, an area is taken out of the paper of a value document, so that a hole or an opening is formed. This hole is then covered again with a window film.
  • the window film is often transparent, but may additionally be printed and / or have optical security elements such as holograms, in order to ensure better protection against counterfeiting.
  • window foils can not be imitated by mere copying with photocopiers since the area of the window foil appears black in a copy. Also, the feel of a window film is different compared to that of paper. Consequently, by means of copying not the different haptics of paper compared to a window film can be achieved.
  • window films In the case of existing value documents with window film, however, it is disadvantageous that these window films have to be applied to the value document by means of a complex laminating process in order to ensure a secure connection of the window film with the remaining document of value and at the same time not impair properties such as a good stackability.
  • a typical problem with value documents with window film is that the value documents are less dimensionally stable and, for example, tend to curl up, which can also considerably complicate the processing or handling of value documents. Also, the transitions from window foil to paper can be weakened areas that are more prone to mechanical damage such as tearing / tearing.
  • DE 10 2004 014778 A1 describes a document of value with a carrier made of a paper material and a film element, which has one or more optical security features, wherein the carrier has one or more window-shaped openings, which are closed by means of the film element which projects beyond the openings on all sides.
  • the carrier On the side opposite the film element of the carrier is applied to the surface of the film element at least in the region of the openings covering sealing layer.
  • WO 03/053713 A1 relates to a security element for value documents, which has at least two different security features, which are arranged on opposite sides of the security element, wherein at least one of the security features is optically variable.
  • WO 2011/015622 A1 If an opening in the substrate is closed with a film on the front side, a non-self-supporting coating is applied to the substrate on the back side.
  • KR 100 781 740 A shows a document of value over the opening of an optically variable element with holes and a film is attached.
  • EP 2199 095 A2 shows a method for producing a security element for a data carrier, comprising the step of providing a sheet-shaped substrate having a recess which is formed by a closed in the substrate on both sides with a film opening in the substrate and the further step of creating a further security feature by a coating is so produced on at least one film, that at least a portion of the coating fit to a Contour that delimits a recessed area of the substrate from a region of the substrate surrounding the recess adjoins.
