Definitions
- the present invention relates to a walking aid with pivotable support feet, which can be pivoted between a folded and an unfolded position.
- Walking aids such as crutches are well known in the art. This results in the problem that when the user of such walking aids in the meantime want to turn off the walking aids, he has to lean on furniture, walls or the like, since the walking aids can not stand alone. This entails the risk that the ajarged walking aids or crutches fall over and the user then has great difficulty to take them back into their hands.
- the object of the present invention to provide a walker, in which the fold-out support feet can be reliably moved between an unfolded and a folded position.
- the walker on a support tube on which, for example, handles can be provided in a conventional manner to a handle portion.
- a foot member slidably mounted along the longitudinal direction of the support tube is provided so as to be displaceable between a retracted and an extended position on the support tube and formed hollow.
- pivotable support legs are mounted with their first ends such that the support legs can be pivoted between a folded and a deployed position, the support legs in the retracted position substantially parallel to each other along the longitudinal direction of the support tube.
- the pivot axes of the support legs are perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the support tube.

- the foot member is slidably mounted on the support tube such that it extends in the extended position at least as far beyond the free end of the support tube that it prevents the support legs from pivoting to the deployed position, thereby achieving this is that the hollow foot member at least partially receives the support feet when it is in the extended position. In the retracted position of the foot member, however, the support legs are released so that they can pivot automatically due to the action of the biasing means in the unfolded position.
- Such a mechanism is easy to operate solely by moving the foot member, so that the support feet can be easily and reliably opened or opened.
- the foot element is displaceable along the outer wall of the support tube, which is easy to implement, since the support tube can then possibly be made with reinforcements provided in the interior tube material and thus has a high stability.
- the support legs in the extended position of the foot member, are fully disposed within the foot member so that the second ends of the support legs do not extend beyond the free end of the foot member.
- this may be done by providing a closed elastic ring which abuts between the first ends of the support legs and the recesses on the outside of the support feet.
- the elastic ring is stretched compared to the situation in which the support feet are pivoted outwardly. Thereby, the biasing force is generated, which presses the support feet in the unfolded position.

Description
The present invention relates to a walking aid with pivotable support feet, which can be pivoted between a folded and an unfolded position.
Walking aids such as crutches are well known in the art.
Therefore, it is the object of the present invention to provide a walker, in which the fold-out support feet can be reliably moved between an unfolded and a folded position.
This object is achieved by a walking aid with the features of claim 1.
According to the invention, the walker on a support tube on which, for example, handles can be provided in a conventional manner to a handle portion. At a free end of the support tube, a foot member slidably mounted along the longitudinal direction of the support tube is provided so as to be displaceable between a retracted and an extended position on the support tube and formed hollow.
In addition, according to the invention at the free end of the support tube pivotable support legs are mounted with their first ends such that the support legs can be pivoted between a folded and a deployed position, the support legs in the retracted position substantially parallel to each other along the longitudinal direction of the support tube. To realize this, the pivot axes of the support legs are perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the support tube. In the deployed position, the support legs are disposed inclined to the longitudinal direction of the support tube, and the second ends of the support legs remote from the first ends are remote from each other.
Furthermore, biasing means are provided which exert a torque on the support feet, so that the support feet tend to move in the unfolded position, that are biased in the unfolded position.
Finally, the foot member is slidably mounted on the support tube such that it extends in the extended position at least as far beyond the free end of the support tube that it prevents the support legs from pivoting to the deployed position, thereby achieving this is that the hollow foot member at least partially receives the support feet when it is in the extended position. In the retracted position of the foot member, however, the support legs are released so that they can pivot automatically due to the action of the biasing means in the unfolded position.
Conversely, when the foot member is moved back to the extended position, it pushes the support feet back into the folded position so that the walker again assumes a slender shape.
Such a mechanism is easy to operate solely by moving the foot member, so that the support feet can be easily and reliably opened or opened.
In a preferred embodiment, the foot element is displaceable along the outer wall of the support tube, which is easy to implement, since the support tube can then possibly be made with reinforcements provided in the interior tube material and thus has a high stability.
In a further preferred embodiment, in the extended position of the foot member, the support legs are fully disposed within the foot member so that the second ends of the support legs do not extend beyond the free end of the foot member. Such an arrangement has the advantage that during use of the walker for supporting a user when the support legs are folded in, the load is taken up by the extended foot element and not by the support feet. Thus, the pivotal connection between the first ends of the support legs and the support tube must not take high loads.
In order to realize the pivotal connection between the support legs and the support tube, according to the invention at the free end of the support tube extending along the longitudinal direction extending pin is provided which extends beyond the free end of the support tube out and the free end in turn is perpendicular to the Has longitudinally extending circumferential projection. At the mutually facing surfaces of the support feet are then adjacent to the first End transverse to the longitudinal direction of the support tubes extending recesses formed, and the circumferential projection is received in the recesses. In this way, a pivotal connection can be realized in which the pivot axes are perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the support tube and which can be made reliable and easy.
In such a construction, to realize the biasing means, in a first preferred embodiment, this may be done by providing a closed elastic ring which abuts between the first ends of the support legs and the recesses on the outside of the support feet. When the support feet are in the folded position, the elastic ring is stretched compared to the situation in which the support feet are pivoted outwardly. Thereby, the biasing force is generated, which presses the support feet in the unfolded position.
Alternatively, U-shaped spring elements may be used, which have a first and a second leg. In this case, each support leg is associated with a spring element, wherein the free end of the first, radially to the longitudinal direction of the support tube inside arranged leg of the spring element facing the outwardly facing surface of a support foot and the second, viewed radially to the longitudinal direction of the support tube outwardly facing legs supported on an inner wall of the support tube. The arrangement is then chosen so that the free end of the first leg is disposed on the outside of the respective support leg between the recess and its free end.
Then, the legs of the spring element are moved towards each other or compressed when the support leg is pivoted about the projection inwardly in the folded position. The Spring elements thus also cause a biasing force acts, which moves the support legs in the unfolded position.
Finally, in a preferred embodiment, at the free end of the support tube extending along the longitudinal direction of the support tube from its free end between the support feet extending support rod may be provided. This support bar prevents the deployed outriggers from pivoting further outwardly when a user accidentally rests against the assistant while the outriggers are deployed. In this case, the free end of the support rod comes into contact with the ground, and there is no risk that the support legs or their pivotal connection with the free end of the support tube will be damaged.

By this structure, a force is exerted by the
Otherwise, this second embodiment is also operated as described in connection with the first embodiment.
Overall, provided in the walking aids described above
